There are plenty of good Christians that are Catholics. God judges us for what we know, not what others know and so if a person has been taught that Catholicism is the true faith and they adhere to it in order to draw closer to God, if they love God and love their neighbor and believe in the salvation of Christ, then they are Christians. If you condemn such Christians for their church membership then you are far from salvation yourself. The same is true for protestants, and the errors of the protestant church eclipse those of the church of Rome in some aspects. Even though I'm criticizing the catholic church in this post, I could also criticize the protestant church (20k different denominations and new ones forming daily, all claiming their and only their view of the bible to be the correct one, which makes them indistinguishable from the Catholic church on that score).

The Catholic church has adopted the errors of the scribes and pharisees, which is why the catholic church and the jews have always worked so closely. The jews have their talmud and the catholics have their catechism and pope.

The talmud was Jesus chief complaint about the scribes and pharisees-

>5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, "Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?" 6 He answered and said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: 'This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. 7 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' 8 "For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men–the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do." 9 He said to them, "All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

The "tradition of men" that Jesus is talking about is the talmud (or more specifically the Gemarra, which was the part of the talmud that existed during Jesus day). Rabbinical Jews claim that it's impossible to understand the Torah and Tanach without the talmud, just like the catholics claim it's impossible to understand the bible without the teachings of the catholic church. The catholic doctrine of the infallibility of the pope (when acting in the office of pope) is a literal fulfillment of this complaint Jesus had against the pharisees.

The talmud is actually an inversion of the torah. It transforms the torah into the mysticism of Babylon. It makes right wrong and good evil. The church of Rome has done the same with Christianity. They've inverted it into Babylonian mysticism and that's apparent once you realize that the ruling satanic elite communicate openly using symbolism. The true faith of the ruling catholic clergy is shown by their symbolism. The symbolism of paganism are all throughout the catholic church, from the pope's "saturn hat" to the stars of remphan all over catholic buildings to the dead sheep with a forked tongue altar in St Peter's Basilica to the pope John audience hall which is the head of a giant serpent and the pope delivering his weekly message from the mouth of the serpent. . .

And the Catholic priests act like the scribes and pharisees. They wear elaborate clothing to demonstrate their holiness and more importantly they engage in ritual pedophilia on a grand scale. The defilement of children has been a primary religious tenant of satanic paganism for thousands of years. Pedophilia isn't just bad actors in the church, it's the ruling catholic elite practicing their true religion. Ritual pedophilia is also rampant in jewish communities.

If you're catholic, never leave your child alone with clergy. Just keep practicing what you know to be God's will- loving God, living a holy life, and loving your neighbor. If you decide to split from catholicism then where would you go? You'd just exchange on error for another. Fortunately the kingdom of God is within you so protect that kingdom with all that you have.

>20k different denominations and new ones forming daily, all claiming their and only their view of the bible to be the correct one, which makes them indistinguishable from the Catholic church on that score

Most of the differences with those are trivial. Very trivial and often due to a few rules of order differences. Some aren't even doctrinal disputes, but simply a group focus on specific ministries (for example, the "Salvation Army" is a denomination, but technically no different than other Methodist/Wesleyan groups. They simply focus on certain charity works). This is more akin to Catholics with their various brotherhoods and orders (Dominicans, Franciscans, etc). Others unfortunately are split not because of theology, but because of old rifts due to slavery. Back in the abolitionist days, some churches were cowards and didn't call out all of their slave supporting membership. So certain churches broke away. This is why you have different varieties of Methodists, Baptists, etc.. The original rifts are gone, but they simply have carried on their own. It's not like they're all vastly different forms of Protestantism.

Anyways, on to your topic. Calling the Pharisees talmudic is a bit off (but you admit this, so I'm not trying to overly correct you or anything). There was the Rabbinical traditions it based on, which you can definitely include the Pharisees with, but in some respects, it's an altogether different beast. Jesus never said the root of the Pharisees was ever bad - he had disciples like Nicodemus and Paul among them. He only called out their hypocrisy and unbalanced view of the Sabbath and over-emphasis on cleaning. He still told his disciples that the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat.

Also, those denominations that are actually radically different will be the first to tell others they aren't even Protestant. They tend to hate the label. Like Jehovah's Witnesses and Adventists (both of whom are really part of a larger Adventist movement). Mormons definitely don't use the label, and more akin to some bizarre chimera resembling both Muhammad and Freemasonry, if you ask me.

sola scriptura is the apex of unbiblical traditions of man.

So nefarious it is, it divided Christendom forever into thousands of sects, alluring to the pride of the reader.

The devil did a masterful job there.

> some churches were cowards and didn't call out all of their slave supporting membership.

Slavery was the best thing that ever happened to black africans. The blacks lucky enough to be sold into slavery in America lived long lives, were fed well, had jobs, were never thrown in jail, never did drugs, their heirs became free in a nation full of opportunity and most of all they had the opportunity to be saved.

In Africa the tribal chieftains held their tribe as slaves and the concept of families was foreign to the tiggers, as we see from the earliest reports of the muslims that first discovered the area.

You should read "Cotton is king" it's a collection of pro-slavery writing from before the civil war and the argument they made was better than the argument against slavery. Already at that time free blacks lived in squalor and comprised the majority of the prison population in the US. Blacks aren't smart enough to live and succeed in modern society unless they've bred with whites.

> There was the Rabbinical traditions it based on, which you can definitely include the Pharisees with, but in some respects, it's an altogether different beast. Jesus never said the root of the Pharisees was ever bad

Yes he did. The chapter of John 8 was a long criticism of the scribes and pharisees-

>Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

The scribes and pharisees were not of the children of Israel, they were the descendants of the macabees, who were edomites, and their religion came from their exile in babylon. Whenever Jesus criticized them for following "the traditions of men" he was talking about talmudic/rabbinical judaism. The talmud is said to be the oral traditions that moses received when he got the ten commandments. This is so clearly presented in the bible that the fact that most Christians don't know this is just evidence of that the jews have hijacked christianity

>He still told his disciples that the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat.

you misunderstand his intent. it wasn't to justify the scribes and pharisees. He made it completely clear that the scribes and pharisees were wholly evil, just as John the baptist did before him. He was telling his disciples that the religion of the jews had been corrupted.

As for Logos, John was a Jew. And he wrote very broken Greek at that. He was doing his best to translate a Jewish concept into a foreign language. The original concept is the "Memra". The Word of the Lord. Specifically personified in many Aramaic Targum commentaries. Especially comes up a lot during scripture passages when God speaks (like "Let there be light") - that there is a second persona next to the Father - the Memra - the Word as his active agent. Also used during passages mentioning the "Angel of the Lord" or spots like the Angel in the burning bush.

I've always been a protestant, but I agree. It does nothing but divide. But then I don't agree that an entity as evil as the catholic church guards the path to salvation. The Children of Israel lost their blessing and their nation after a few hundred years because of their sins. Even if the catholic church did start out as the one true church their evil over thousands of years has severed their position in God.

This is silly. Where do you even get your history from? The X-Files? The Macabees were Levites (specifically Zadokites) and a ruling priestly family (the Hasmonean dynasty). Herod who later took over was an Edomite and they hated him and had a long running feud with him.

If they were so bad, Jesus himself would not have celebrated Hannukah (John 10:22-23).

no they aren't. they predated the jews. the word "jew" was the same as the word "american", it wasn't a race, it was a nationality. The inhabitants of jerusalem began to be called jews after the return from babylon and they were mixed race mutts from the tribes that Israel was supposed to wipe out.
