Why doesn't Christianity have a set of religious legislature corpus like Jews or Muslims? The entire Gospel of Matthew is nothing but legislative instructions on how to live a righteous ethical and moral christian life
Moreover, why isn't Christianity considered a legalistic religion when almost half of it deals exactly with specific details on how to God expects you to behave in your day to day life?

And as you said, you can consider the Bible itself the corpus(doubly so if you are a prot)

You can try, but it won't amount to much on it's own. As Christ also said, "Amen, amen I say to you, unless a man is born from above, he can not see the kingdom of God."
Only the Holy Spirit enables true Christian morality. The only reason Muslims and Jews emphasize their own efforts is because they're hopeless and haven't seen or met God, let alone been filled with his Spirit.

I'm not trying to be mean or insulting. I'm just really curious as to the Christian response when it comes to very specific instances of juridicial matters and their legal consequences
Didn't Christ himself state on the Sermon of the Mount that divorce is forbidden (Matt 5:32), an insult to your close relative is passable to court ( Matt 5:23) adultery is punished with the extraction of an eye (Matt 5:29 ) or theft punishable with the cutting of a hand (Matt 5:30) ?
How are these instances to be interpreted?

Is this your first time reading the Bible? The Bible is full of literary devices. For instance Matt 5:29 and Matt 5:30 are examples of hyperbole in which Jesus Christ is explaining just how serious sin is. Does Jesus want us to start amputating our limbs? Of course not, but he does not want us to tolerate even the least amount of sin in our lives.

You can't just claim something is a hyperbole when confronted to provide a theological explanation otherwise you're not referring to the sacred but to a mere text of simple literature with a dilluted message. I mean surely there would have been other literary devices to use instead of providing such long and comprehensive legal explanations. The verses i quoted are not a hyperbole for sure.

There's plenty of moral law in Christianity. Humans just have zero hope of ever truly knowing it, let alone following it, unless the law is written on their hearts. Even the Jews knew this much once, and it was their greatest hope until Rabbis took over their culture:
"I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh." - Ezekiel 11:19
"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people." - Jeremiah 31:33

Spiritually you're either a slave to God or to sin. Politically Christianity is a religion of freedom. It doesn't tolerate lording over others and by extension denounces the being ruled, while prioritizing moderation and suffering politically for the sake of your witness.

You're looking at the standards laid out in the Sermon on the Mount? If you are really interested to understand you might want to finish reading the book.
Matthew 19:25-26 says
>25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
>26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."

Interpret scripture with scripture. Don't take things in isolation and jump to some conclusion that it means he loved him more than others or that Matthew somehow doesn't matter. You'd be shooting yourself in the foot - nay, the face - for neglecting Matthew.
It could simply mean that John needed special attention. Since John was the actual writer of the gospel, he was probably saying it out of humility rather than some point of pride - and a way of not naming himself or making himself the centerpoint of attention. It also says elsewhere that he and his brother were "sons of thunder" and when they were rejected by Samaritans, they asked Jesus to bring fire down from heaven on them - and Jesus rebuked John and James for this callousness
(Luke 9:52-56). This is one of the only times you even see Jesus sharply criticize his own disciples like this (the other was Peter, for his hot temper and sword use).

Like it or not people are still subject to rules anywhere they go.
So in this case, would you rather obey and be subject to the rules of men, or obey and be subject to the rules of God? I'm honestly contemplating this exact question every day and cannot phantom why there's a need for Christians to be subject to laws stemming from Liberalism, Communism, Socialism, or absolutely any man-made ideology whatsoever.
If God is righteous and all who walk his path are righteous, shouldn't law governing people, therefor, not also be as righteous as God is observed in the Bible?
