from what I can tell, most of the regular posters are atheists pretending to be Christians and trying to stir up division. There is actually almost nothing about this board other than the title that's actually Christian. No matter what you say, half the responses you'll get are from shills that just want to argue. 80% of the content of this board is just-

>Catholicism is evil!

>no, protestantism is evil

>Nu uh, Catholicism is evil

>You're wrong, it's protestantism that's evil

This board was obviously registered by antifa or some atheists and so now the only discussions they allow are trivial arguments that divide Christians against each other.

Mods, you need to explain why you are doing such a horrible job

But seriously, what kind of discussions were you expecting? The only marginal thing that would unite christians is maybe politics, and even that wears out fairly quickly. The rest of what can be discussed is theology, and that's the reason for the arguing because there's no single way of interpreting christianity. Much less a uniform homogenous variety of christianity

Yes, there were a lot of small things like this that stacked up for me. Not even the abortion subject finds much agreement and will get snide remarks. It seems to be both boomers and young people who completely embrace mainstream worldviews over there. There's no distinction.

But as Christ said, if it's the world they want to please, then they've already received their reward. Not sure why anyone would willingly embrace such an empty deal, but I'm not going to try to figure it out.

theology is bulls—.There is no argument more meaningless about an argument about clavinism vs armenianism or catholic vs protestant. There won't be a single person saved because they have the right set of opinions and likewise no one will be saved because thy were members of the right denomination. Salvation and Christianity are a state of the heart, not the mind.

which is pure insanity. A house divided against itself will not stand and the reasons the churches have found for division are just the conniving of psychopathic clergy that have no concern for anything but their own wealth and power. This is particularly true of protestants, who form a new denomination on a daily basis. In rejecting the pope the protestants have weakened themselves by having no central authority to hold things together. At least the catholics only have one evil power structure that needs to be destroyed. the protestants have hundreds of them.

This and so much this. I wholeheartedly agree with this statement, although i think humanism started off as a mechanism for Western Europe to depart by the Roman Catholic institution of the church. Basically Humanism is the result of wanting God, Faith and Christ but without the institutional framework of Catholicism. And look at how that ended up lol

See? It's exactly what i'm talking about. You won't find 5 self-proclaimed Christians that will manage to agree on what you've just said. Herein lies the problem.

I'm all for unity. But my personal version of Christian unity, for example, stems principally from State Unity of Christians. Because the only time Christianity was EVER united and it's answers to problems managed to be resolved, was only within the coherence of the Roman Empire's borders.

Why not start the discussion of Christian Unity, first through the perspective of a New Christian State?

Nice words, but if you were going to do something about the power structure of Roman Catholicism, you would have already done it. Catholics are intrinsically cucked, and have a mental block from even lifting a hand against that sacred cow. Ironically, the only ones with any courage to fight are the very evil bastards who took it over in the first place. They don't care about a thing. While you do.

Christian Unity can be found everywhere that believers hold to the Gospel

the problem is that Roman Catholicism holds to a different gospel from Protestantism

thus it is proper and right that both decry the other as Apostate, since both groups make exclusive truth claims and say anyone outside their bounds is cut off from Christ

Not as much as you think. Much of the time when the wording is different, it's because translators badly thought to use substitute words and not always translate the same underlying words with the same corresponding English words (the KJV is especially notorious about this and obscures the similarity of the Synoptic gospels). While the other stupid "gotcha!" contradictions are due to your own ignorance. Like the genealogies of Mary and Joseph.

I doubt this. Even if it's true, it's more productive to change our own attitudes towards each other.

God is the most complex concept there is. There will always be disagreements over His interpretation, yet He allows this to happen by granting us free will.

This board needs to encourage civil discussion about our differences in faith, while the mods have the job of eradicating low-effort posts like pointing fingers, baiting,

They are, undoubtedly. But it would be more appropriate and accurate to regard them as commentaries on the life of Christ, each with a theological message, written long after he ascended and while not written by eyewitnesses, are definitely based on earlier material which had an oral or written source from eyewitnesses, and likely from at least some of the disciples themselves.

But each have to be treated specifically within their own messages they each and separately want to convey, because they weren't written to make a New Testament, it was rather later Christian compilers which sorted them out and made up a New Testament. Many people miss that point.

>>837491

I'm not referring to any "gotcha!" moment. I'm referring to the alleged words of Jesus as recorded in the NT. There's 7 different sayings of Jesus recorded, and it's up to the people claiming he said all of them to bring solid reasoning and proofs for their claim.

I can't even post on /pol/ anymore. I shat on a douche who was harassing me on cuckchan and apparently he was a mod because now I'm getting absurd captchas and can't really post anymore. They really don't want anyone posting there. They just want you to lurk and absorb their propaganda.

Can I have some examples from scripture?

From history it seems that it was enacted by Constantine and by the First Council of Nice.

And I always question man made additions to the Word of God. I believe the Council of Jerusalem to be the only legitimate council (which loosened the yoke on Gentiles and dis not increase the burden on Christ’s sheep)

Matthew 28:19

>From history it seems that it was enacted by Constantine and by the First Council of Nice.

Why don't you do even basic study of history before making claims about it

>And I always question man made additions to the Word of God

Nobody at the council claimed to add to God's word.

Niceea happened as a reaction to arianism, not because of it.

Was going to list them out, but there is a lot. So here is a link that contains 50 references.

Also you can't attempt to use the argument that the Bible doesn't mention the exact word "Trinity" so therefore the Trinity doesn't exist. The Bible also doesn't mention Monotheism, yet we know it is from Isaiah 44:6.
