I don't know of the latter two you mentioned, but Steve, Bryan, and many other KJV idolaters are the embodiment of pride and wrath. Why would someone who supposedly loves God have such hatred towards everyone around him and go so far as to burn God's word? Anyone who exhibits such erratic behavior and is repulsed by the sight of a cross or other Christian imagery may very well be demon-possessed.

Well back before the '60s everyone used the KJV.

Now though? Now it's just child's play to pick out most modernists as they have for the most part moved on to their modern versions as it's much easier to teach false doctrine for them. It makes my job of separating from impurity and modernism much easier, as I can pick them out quickly and easily. But, it doesn't make it automatic.

You mean the ASV? Yeah, it existed since 1901. But the damage really started when it came back into churches. If you like, everyone was using it before the 1860s and yet there were still theological issues. Although that was before modernism had really entered popular thought. Yeah you had people like Richard Simon and Johann Salomo Semler but their ideas hadn't gained traction until the breakthroughs of Westcott and Hort in the late 19th century. The point is that using an accurate translation of Scripture that goes back to the original language is simply a prerequisite.

I don't think that's true.

I think the love of sin (this I struggle with) has colored their reading of the Bible. This is just cognitive bias. They will read one verse, and pronounce "Faith alone!" and say they're forever saved, and they can't even see Matthew 7:19-23.

I've done this myself, but the catholic practice of Confession gets me back on track as Father calls me out on my love of sin. This is why confession is so important, Father is objective and acting with the Holy Ghost, and calls you out on your love of sin.

verses 19 and 20 are part of the previous parable about false prophets. The fruit isn't good works, it's their followers

as for verses 21-23 you have to be completely brainwashed, blind, or a complete idiot to think that doesn't teach sola fide and eternal security, but somehow says you can lose your salvation

Matthew 7

Doing the Father's will is believing on Christ, not doing works.

John 6

39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

Those people were trusting in their works to save them, then get cast into hell.
