Decisión de vida.
¿Qué hago si soy medio zoquete para laburar de programador pero
suficientemente inteligente para no ser negreado (no quiero laburar como
reparador de computadoras, ni nada que involucre una parte de esfuerzo físico)?
Expando un poco más esto.
Soy programador, usuario experto de GNU/Linux hace ya varios años.
Sé banda de problemás técnicos a nivel de software.
Nunca hice una entrevista de laburo pero por alguna razón no me tengo fé.
No me tengo fé como programador porque no tengo esa intuición que tienen
los chabones con más de 100 de IQ para resolver problemas, conozco a varios
de la universidad y tienen algo que yo no poseo.
Estuve viendo varias ofertas de trabajo y los requisitos para aplicar
como programador a esos lugares son bastantes, la mayoría de tecnologías me las
conozco pero no creo que me da la cabeza para entrar ahí y si entro creo que
no aportaría mucho.
Por otro lado también creo que tengo capacidad de laburar como SRE/DevOps.
En definitiva, ¿cómo carajo hago para tener un laburo digno teniendo 80 de IQ en Peronia?,
¿cuántas mentiras tengo que decir para lograr este objetivo?, ¿estoy para el corchazo?.
Aclaro, no me gustan laburos que tengan mucho contacto con el cliente,
no me gusta interactuar con el cliente.
Mucha gente sugiere que hagas un nombre, pero yo no soy suficientemente inteligente o
no me tengo suficientemente confianza para hacerme un nombre en Internet.

Aclaro otra cosa más, soy bastante hábil en NeoVim.
Así que puedo programar bastante rápido, el único detalle es que mi cerebro no va a esa velocidad.
Estuve viendo los trabajos "data entry" en Argentina pero no conseguí ninguno cerca y no encontré nada remoto. Escribo entre 110-130 palabras por minuto.

Si no sos tan inteligente como para programar en la elite tu futuro es ser negreado. Tan sencillo como eso. Bajate del caballo y dejá de creerte especial, pedazo de pelotudo. En Argentina te negrean en cualquier rubro en el que labures, conozco programadores graduados universitarios con conocimientos de puta madre que tienen un buen sueldo, sí; pero los hacen laburar de más sin pagarles un peso por la sobrecarga horaria, les cagan vacaciones, les ponen al lado tipos acomodados por ser familiares que no saben un carajo, etc.
Todavía encima escribís pelotudeces como "no me interesa java". Java es una de las plataformas más requeridas para los programadores a los que no les da el bocho para hacer cosas complejas en bajo nivel.
Con lo que sabés hacer el camino más razonable que tenés es entrar como junior en alguna empresa que requiera conocimientos en los progrmas que dominás. Si le ponés ganas y caés en un buen grupo de laburo podés aprender un montón de la misma práctica y del intercambio con los demás. Después cuando tengas más experiencia si sos suficientemente inteligente y laborioso podés llegar a ascender o incluso a conseguirte un mejor sueldo en otra compañía.
Olvidate de las matemáticas si vas a programar en alto nivel, al menos de las matemáticas de nivel universitario. Eso lo necesita gente que va a programar bases de datos muy complejas, programas de muy bajo nivel que tienen que correr con muy pocos kilobytes, cualquier tipo de desarrollo en 3d, etc. Es más importante saber cuándo usar una variable o cuándo hacer un campo numérico de 1, 2 o 3 bytes que saberte de memoria la ecuación de las raíces exactas de la función de una variable, que es matemática de secundario incluso.
Después lo que más importa en la programación es la curiosidad y resolver los problemas que se te presentan. De todos modos hacer cursos cortos de Java y MySQL nunca está de más. Y vas a tener que aprender a relacionarte con la gente. No con los clientes, en muchos laburos de programación los únicos que hablan con ellos son tus jefes, que a veces ni programan. Pero sí con los programadores senior y el resto de los junior. Y con la gente de recursos humanos también, mal que te pese. Que tampoco piden nada del otro mundo, solamente que vayas razonablemente vestido, que demuestres interés en el laburo y que no llegues cuando se te canten las pelotas. Así como la interacción con el resto pasa más que nada por poder laburar en grupo y coordinar tareas con otros, no que le preguntes a Tincho cómo anda Pili y a cuántos chads se garchó Mili.

Yo no me creo especial, sino ya hubiese ido a todas las entrevistas, te dije que no me tenía suficiente fe. Pero al mismo tiempo no quiero verme forzado a hacer un laburo que no me gusta y encima que me negreen, por lo menos que me negreen haciendo lo que me gusta.
Tengo el aguante para laburar por largas horas, no tengo problemas en sentarme varias horas en la computadora programando o administrando algo. Pero hacer algo que no me gusta y encima muchas horas para que no me paguen nada, parece como la muerte misma. No tendría problemas en no tener vacaciones, siempre y cuando el laburo no sea físico, como ( reparar pcs o trabajar para Fibertel/empresa de telecomunicaciones como un técnico que va a instalar conexión en las casas ), tampoco me gustaría laburar en un callcenter o cobrador de deudas, no quiero interactuar con esa gente.

Durante muchos años estuve programando, y la verdad en mis términos no me podría ni siquiera considerar un programador, sino más bien un tipo que juega con las configuración de algunos programas xd en Linux. Hice una carrera que tenía mucha matemática Ciencias de la Computación, llegué hasta el 2año y hice un poco del 3ero pero estoy un poco atrasado, aprobé materias como Analisis I,II Álgebra I,II, Álgebra Lineal, pero me costó una banda aprobarlas, tardé años en entender conceptos porque tengo un IQ de 80, kinda sad to be honest.

Sí, obvio que la programación es matemática pura. Hay que ser tarado para pensar lo contrario. Pero para programar en alto nivel no necesitás conocimientos extraordinarios de matemática, con el secundario basta y sobra. La mayoría de los programadores juniors en ese tipo de laburos son autodidactas incluso, y muchos de los seniors son esos juniors 10 o 15 años después.

Si entendés cómo funciona la programación de objetos y sabés lo suficiente de SQL para manejar una base de datos y replicarla en servidores diversos te sobra, nuevamente. Ese tipo de cosas muchos la aprenden sobre la marcha mientras van adquiriendo conocimientos en el laburo. Y dado que viste muchos lenguajes ya difícilmente te cueste adaptarte a otros similares como MariaDB y PostGreSQL.
En definitiva garantías no hay de nada. La vida la hacés andando el camino. Podés terminar la carrera y no conseguir un carajo, o que te terminen negreando igual; o tal vez no, ojalá te gradúes y consigas un laburo de puta madre. Pero pretender que el mundo se va a acomodar a tus necesidades es ridículo.
Aprendé a trabajar en grupo, porque no hay manera que no lo vayas a tener que hacer, De hecho si estás estudiando ponele mucha pila a mejorar eso, para algo dan tareas grupales.
En el laburo que seas, no sólo en programación, empezás desde abajo en Argentina. Salvo que seas un crack, pero ni estarías haciendo este tópico. Si mejorás con los años vas a poder ascender y ahí sí mejora tu sueldo. Pero lo social es fundamental. Como dije antes, no para hablar de Tincho y Mili, pero sí para coordinar tareas y para tener otros programadores a tu cargo. Nadie te va a pedir que te hagas cargo de gestionar un grupo de trabajo si ven que desaparecés el día entero y te comportás como si le estuvieras haciendo un favor a los demás laburando. Te las vas a tener que rebuscar.

La Universidad no te prepara para esas cosas. Y muchas veces no tenés la suerte de laburar haciendo exactamente lo que aprendiste. Porque podés haber aprendido ciencias y lenguajes y terminar en una empresa de desarrollo de páginas web, que es un desperdicio, pero no encontraste otra cosa. Hay mucha gente capacitada con títulos universitarios que hacen cosas muy por debajo de su nivel de conocimiento, no sólo en programación sino en cualquier disciplina. Conozco contadores que hicieron carreras fabulosas y terminaron haciendo la contaduría de pymes de 10 empleados.
También hay algunos boludos con título que en la práctica no sirven para nada (nuevamente, no sólo en programación, sino en otros laburos). Una cosa es aprobar un examen, otra es entender verdaderamente los fundamentos y cómo se aplican.
En cuanto a los lenguajes, todos tienen sus usos, a veces caés en una empresa que tiene una base de datos o un cliente en determinado lenguaje y no tiene sentido reprogramarlo en otro porque funciona.
Las empresas de programación en definitiva balancean necesidad con costo. Si quieren sacar un programa que (por decir una boludez) convierte jpg a png no lo van a hacer en Assembler. Si necesitan programar el driver de una lectora de BluRay no lo van a hacer en Java. Usualmente la programación en alto nivel requiere menos conocimientos del empleado (por ende sueldo más bajo) y menos tiempo de desarrollo, con la de bajo nivel todo lo contrario. Entonces podés tener más gente que use un lenguaje de alto nivel, pero la gente que usa uno de bajo nivel puede cobrar más.

Yo veo más posible un futuro totalmente contrario al de esa imagen de hecho: en mi opinión, llegará un momento en donde la tecnología esté tan avanzada que todo aquél que la domine y controle sería visto por la gente dependiente de sus dispositivos como una especie de mensajero divino, siendo esta divinidad la tecnología misma por supuesto. Llegará un punto en donde la gente no educada en estos aspectos empezaría a ver todos estos dispositivos como mismísima magia que ya ni se molesta en intentar explicar (ya existen innumerables supersticiones en relación a la tecnología, incluso muchas religiones existentes se benefician de estas, adaptándolas) y al ser parte tan fundamental de sus vidas una persona que pueda controlar todo esto sería ciertamente vista por todo lo alto. No te digo ahora que cualquier pendejo se mira un tutorial de java, sino en un ambiente ultra-futurista con una tecnología a la que se necesita dedicarle toda una vida para comprenderla, y donde todos ya son parte máquina en alguna u otra medida.

me parece totalmente posible que el codigo sea pueda generar por una maquina. Es una tarea compleja y que va a llevar tiempo pero no veo por que no. bueno, ahora que lo pensé un minuto puede que este equivocado. El problema no es generar el codigo, sino explicarle a la maquina que generar. Puede que la explicación termine siendo más larga y compleja que programar la cosa uno directamente. Es una cuestión de cuanto se puede delegar a librerias y cuanto la maquina puede inferir por si misma, y esto es basicamente lo mismo que los lenguajes de alto nivel que tenemos ahora (que generan codigo bastante malo, pero tienen desarrollo rapido y funcionan)
