Colony builder:

Earth is doomed. Sign of alien life had at last been detected. However that detection was of a massive asteroid being pulled by a solar sail towards earth.

As expected this did not really thrill the populace in general with the the whole imminent death and all.

With an estimated 16 months before impact the goverments went together to create arks. Meant to take the best and brightes. The healthiest and most diverse of mankind to new worlds. Equipped with the most advanced technology of 2047. An advanced SI, genetic labs equipped with embryos and incubators, Suspended animation tubes to keep the crew and populace of 50 dormant for the journey and most of them for the early stages of the colony. Weapons were added with the realisation of the existance of outside threats. Massdrivers and lasers on the arks and Lasers, explosives, coilguns and Oh so many non-lethal weapons in the ark armoury.

The project did not go flawlessly and conflicts arose regarding who would send how many people on the arks and it all came to a point with the nuclear annihilation of Brazil when they held one of the launch sites hostage.

But as the asteroid approached the arks streaked out to solar systems deemed potentially life-sustaining. 6 Arks in all driven by solar sails and Ion engines.

After 43 years of travel the ark is waking up the necessary crew to prepare for landing. Contact with all other Arks has been lost. Wether it's due to catastrophy, equipment failure, distance or something else is unknown.

You are the crew. Thoroughly vetted and choosen for your ability to fill an important role on this new colony. (I won't accept lolrandom characters. they have to have a chance of getting on the ark).

First we vote on:

1. What kind of planet is it?

A. Frozen planet.

B. Arid planet.

C. Barren planet.

D. Volcanic planet.

E. Oceanic planet.

F. Desert planet.

All of these planets ARE possible to have a colony on and have different advantages and disadvantages. if there is life on them is unknown.

2. the arks had slightly different focuses to try to get atleast one to survive. what was the focus of this one?

A. Military.

B. Genetics.

C. Industry.

D. Botaniy.

E. Zoology.

F. Academia.

3. Who is captain?

4. Who is Head of security?

5. Who is chief engineer?

Each turn you roll 2d100 for actions and if you have 1 of the superior positions you can roll a 3rd d100 to do an action in that area.

the success scale is 50+ success with potentially MASSIVE bonuses and penalties to the action. The goal is to make it a somewhat realistic simulation of the success rate of a person with your training and abilities.

for example a person shooting a rifle at 30 meters range with a little bit of trainig at a target would get +-0. while someone with NO TRAINING at all would probably get something like -30 or 40.

Think through your actions. Interact with eachother and be reasonable. Nobody wants to die because nobody wanted to repair the air-scrubbers.

Before the world was threatened with apocalypse, Amari had just finished her third degree. Some would have called her a professional alumni, dedicated more to theory than to practice. She had majored first in Biology, then Paleobotany, and lastly a custom major she referred to as "Xenology", but which most preferred to call "theoretical biophysics". The coursework revolved around speculation, to be sure, but Amari insisted it was based within core biological fact. Her theories on the origins of life are somewhat controversial, pointing to the many asteroids and comets that impacted earth in its formative years, leading to the first bacterial life. The correspondent to Earth life, she said, was somewhere out there in the stars. Her academic success also lead to positions as president of the Student Scientist Union and later the Alumni Organization of Boston University. Her talent for managing groups was remarkable, and won her some local fame for the organizations' works.

Then the asteroid came, and Earth looked to the stars for its future survival. If colonies were to survive on alien worlds, they would need people with an understanding of alien life. Fortunately for Amari, her renown won her a place upon an ark ship, someone who could study and monitor the conditions of their new world. The thought of an alien paradise, untouched by human hands, excited Amari. She would finally get to observe the principles of xenology with real, tangible evidence, and could prove her theory correct!

Most remarkably of all, Amari was chosen to LEAD the expedition as captain! She was uncertain if she was worthy of the role, but the administrators told her that the ship's SI would handle most of the day-to-day relegating. She would just be in managing personnel and making the final call on decisions. Still trepidatious, Amari agreed. Anything to get the chance to explore new worlds. Perhaps under her leadership, humanity could make use of its second chance, and treat this planet better than they had treated Earth. It was unlikely others would have the same respect for nature that she did, but she had to try. What else was this expedition than a trial in hope?

Character:

Name: Yuri Kuznetsov

Fluff: The last great pilot of the Reformed Soviet States of Communist Powers (RSSCP) Yuri was trained on the only "prototype" model ark, and as such was one of the few people to have adept experience flying one of these beasts. Yuri, as a astronaut, was well acquainted with space, and in a joint UN mission had flown as far as Titan, and even walked upon its alien surface. Obsessed with space from a young age, Yuri was not as surprised as many others on Earth when the first sign of intelligent alien life appeared several AU's from Earth, and even less surprised that it was hostile. The universe was a hostile place, much like the very world that humanity evolved on. Such hostile environments necessitated the utilization of scarce resources for survival, and when more then one party, or even others in the same party, desired the same resources, conflict occurred. If everyone you met was more preoccupied with their own survival (which they should be, evolution and instincts ensured that) why would you even give peace a chance? Better to wipe them out when they least suspect it and keep yourself alive and safe. That being said, he still hated them for it, but at the same time relished the chance to finally leave Earth behind and explore the stars, beyond the bounds of this solar system, and maybe even touch foot on alien worlds, and make them a new home for humanity. When Yuri was selected for the Ark Initiative, he was slightly surprised, but very hopeful and excited. Even moreso when he found out that he was to be trained on how to pilot on of these massive ships, the first of their kind ever built by mankind. As an astronaut he was able to skip most of the initial training stages of both survival and piloting, but like many others had to sit through the very rushed but massive courses on all of the new cutting edge technology that made the Arks tick. When he was merely an astronaut, and not one of the last, best hopes for mankind, Yuri specialized in chemistry, more specifically as an organic chemist. Yuri was also picked for another reason, the path he followed before he became a spaceman. Yuri spent 3 years in the Russian military, as a test pilot of the last great jet fighters of the Soviet Air-force, and 2 before that as a conscript in the 4th Chechnyan War. He could handle himself, he had his whole life, from the trenches outside of Grozny to the Methane lakes of Titan.

Shit. Shitshitshitshit. Okay right. Ship is going to land soon, you're awake now. You're supposed to be in charge. You are the CAPTAIN. Don't forget that. Just stay composed and act the part. Remember: You *deserve* to be here.

1/2 - Okay to start, make sure everyone woke up alright, all systems are working, and the descent is going as planned. Make sure to look professional and accomplished.

3 - Then, begin scanning the surface of the planet for a place to dock down. Somewhere large enough to suit our first colony, but not as likely to disrupt any local wildlife, should we be able to detect it.

Amari Umberman

>Fluff:

The voice of Ark-2's captain sounds over the intercomm, in every room and corridor of the ship.

"'Ahem, ah… Attention, Staff and Crew of the Ark-2 Preservatory Vessel. This is your Captain, Dr. Amari Umberman, speaking. I hope you've all had a pleasant sleep. We have a lot of work ahead of us though, and I need everyone doing what they're supposed to. He was fired from his job as diplomat, but was secretly assigned to the CIA as an intelligence officer. He made fobidden connections with high ranking officers at the CIA and found out about the secret Ark project and managed to sneak his name into the waiting list.

He was very low on the list, there were 12 names on the list of personnel who should have come before him and get on that Ark.

Sadly, none of those 12 personnel could be found at the day of reckoning. With a lack of other choice, Jarred was called to the Ark and serve. His bag was already packed when the Ark representatives arrived, as if he knew that he was going to be picked…

Fluff: Jonas Barthule was once a simple man from the U.S. with an ordinary middle-class upbringing with a bachelor's degree in robotics and a mechanic's license in heavy machinery. This all changed once he was drafted to fight in the war against North Korea in 2031 as a pilot in the new Steel Legion program, which involved the use of warmechs - 10 foot tall powersuits built more like bipedal tanks but far more mobile and versatile, with interchangable weapons and parts to suit the job. Jonas emerged from the war as a distinguished war hero, being part of the operation that killed Kim Jong Un and won the war. He would serve in many later wars, from the many spats with the Islamic State to the Brazilian war before the departure, and in between he acted as a consultant in mech design, helping to design and test the first flight units for warmechs along with gradually making sleeker, less bulky units with greater range of motion and mobility without sacrificing protection or functionality. In recognition for his piloting skill and contributions to mechanized weapons technology, he was assigned a spot on an ark. Now his new mission is to help keep this crew safe by using not only his piloting skills but also by continuing to invent cutting-edge weapons with the materials he has to help defend against the aliens, and maybe someday to take the fight straight to the bastards.

All vital systems are operational and wake-up protocols have gone flawlessly. People notice you being a bit flustered and stressed but so are they mostly.

The planet appears to be 1/4 water with the rest being mostly grassland with forests by the colder poles and near the ocean. there are also some fairly large deserts. Without knowing the lifeforms that make their home here it's hard to tell where the least effect would be.

(Look at >>41615 update )

>>41614

The only result of your training is a throbbing headache

>>41615

Your things are all stored in your cabin. After checking up on them you pull up the commlogs. The five other Arks at first sent regular reports. The first anomaly is from the Industrial ark where there was a critical failure in the suspended animation. Many died and the ships life support couldn't handle the stress from the survivors. The situation was dire when they stopped communicating. their current fate is unknown but presumed lost. After that the Arks dropped out one by one. The closest one, The military ark. A mere 0.9 Lightyears away disappeared last with the sole message "they were waiting." For further information a more detailed search of the commlogs would be needed which could take months.

>>41616

Trying to do too much too early without fully recovering you end up spraining your leg (-10 to physical rolls next turn).

Not bothering to head to your cabin you instead decide to sleep in the common arean. Something the SI is trying to make you stop.

>>41618

With the Robotics facility You manage to construct 1 defence flier as well as 2 MK2 Construction crawlers.

However this takes a sizeable chunk of the ships materials.

>>41638

The planet appears to be 1/4 water with the rest being mostly grassland with forests by the colder poles and near the ocean. there are also some fairly large deserts.

The scan does not find any large easily accessible mineral deposits. However the oxygen levels appear to be higher than on earth.

>>41639

All vital systems are operational. You do repair some backups and finetune the landing gears a bit. (as head of engineering you have a 3rd engineer action each turn.)

>>41640

The Sensors seem partially damaged and you lack the tools and spare parts to make them fully operational again.

The asteroids seem mostly clustered in a ring around the planet that is slowly breaking up. Decaying into the planet or back to the moon. A path that avoids the ring by going north or south should be the safest options. Though by no means free of asteroids those areas should be much easier to navigate.

When he was young he learned to do basic programming to help teach his friends who were having trouble with classes, so he made simple games. This turned into a love of robotics in his high school years. Taking all the hours he could in college he quickly gained a doctorate in robotics and did research on nanorobotics and their use in manufacturing. In the following years he joined his friend in starting a manufacturing company using methods he devised, sadly the nanorobotics were still too archaic to be used effectively. Yuri researched into materials, chemistry, and a tad bit into engineering to help and soon many products had the Arcadia Manufacturing Co. stamp on them. Some would call Yuri 'obsessed', especially those that knew he did experiments in his free time, but Yuri likes to call himself 'dedicated'. When it was found the world was going to end Yuri was nearly instantly brought on the ark as a scientist and back up engineer, as well as aiding in the programming of the ship's SI.

Right. Shit. Now ideally this is the sort of information that wouldn't get out to panic the crew, but evidently Williams didn't think about that. Oh well, it's okay. It's alright. We're still here, we're going to survive. We'll set up a proper comms tower at the base, try to re-establish contact. And if that fails, well. Then it's just us out here.

1/2 - On that sobering thought, Amari sends a couple of surveillance drones out to investigate the 'bright spot'. Good or bad, they're better off knowing what it is.It could even be a better spot for them to land. Is there any energy output that would indicate inhabitance?

3 - With not a great deal to do aboard the vessel during these days of approach, Amari spends some time reviewing the extensive information archives to bolster her Biology knowledge.

>>41644

>Name:

Amari Umberman

>Fluff:

Name: Jonas Barthule

Skills: Operating (Superior), Engineering (Average), Shooting (Strong)

1-2: Jonas sets aside an empty place in the Robotics Bay to construct a weapons foundry/warmech hangar, or in his terminology, "The Office". The world below will likely be rife with danger, if not from the beasts and inhabitants then by the alien shitheads who will inevitably find us. With proper warmechs and armaments we'll be prepared to face such threats. The practical testing will have to wait until we reach the planetside, but for now the ship is thankfully equipped with ample supplies and equipment needed to get started.

Fluff: Gregor was born in the United States to a rich family of noble descent. Before the Second World War, the family sold their estates to Hitler and moved to america to start a company. They quickly formed a multi millionaire company and bought their estates back a couple decades later. Born during a golden age of technological progress and into a rich family, Gregor was afforded most luxuries and took advantage of it, attending some of the best schools in the world. Born a second son and not really interested in the family business, Gregor focused on studying Exoplanetology for many years until something happened that changed his life forever. In a boardroom coup, Gregor's family was ousted from the company and soon after, his Father and Grandfather murdered and made to look like a suicide. Through the life insurance money, inheritance, and crafty investing by his older brother, they were able to keep the estates in Germany and stay afloat, but Gregor soon fell into depression. Gregor's hair turned from Pale Blonde to fully White from the trauma and after awhile of staying home, he turned to God. While continuing his previous courses in the Exoplanetological field, he started studies on theology as well and became part of a parish near Rome. His intelligence, money, and devotion to the church soon earned him the attention of The Vatican and he was invited to come study there. The Vatican's treasure trove of knowledge and thousands of years of discipline gave Gregor an even bigger advantage, allowing him to finish degrees years before at most other schools. Gregor's advances in the field enabled the discovery team to find the Asteroid before it was too late and he was put on the Ark Project in an advisory role. Though he doesn't know if the rest of his family was allowed onto the Arks, his intelligence and connection in the church secured him a spot on the Ark and he hopes to make the best of it to secure the existence of God's Children.

+2 "HOBBIT" military robot: Coilgun-equipped bipedal robots with gripping claws for climbing and stability.

-2 Coilgun rifles

-60 Materials.

Getting to work you manage to get the hyrdoponics operational with some unexpected help from Head of security Campbell. Under your supervision he's surprisingly helpful. The seeds the ship has brought include most of the various staple crops from earth as well as various genemodded versions of them and some of the other plants from earth.

HYDROPONICS OPERATIONAL

>>41651

Under the supervision of Dr. Zecharias you learn quite a bit about the care of plants as you two manage to get the hydroponics up and running.

After that you run into Oliver Krantz In the common rooms reading up on robots. He shows you a "HOBBIT" bot that he's going to construct. It's short, stumpy and has a gun.

Your inspection of the armoury turn up some defects on a few of the weapons that could have severely injured anyone trying to use them.

-2 Laser rifles. -1 sonic screech emitter, -1 Laser pistol.

Botany (1/4)

>>41652

From what you can tell the plants should not have much trouble with a higher oxygen content.

Yuri and the SI have a question for you. >>41656

>>41656

You manage to plot a course that will put you into a stable legrange orbit. However the legrange points that are reachable are fairly saturated with asteroids of various sizes. You think you have a path that will keep you safe but the SI estimates a 10% chance of a major impact per week as well as 65% chance of a minor impact. The fuel reserves will also be dangerously depleted. using up an estimated 120 Fuel +5 per week in small course corrections

to achieve this position. The captain needs to give her go-ahead for this plot.

The shuttle seems to be fully operational with some expected maintainance done. The biggest problem you discover is that the shuttle does not have your favorite playlists on it.

>>41656

This action will require the consent of the Head of Engineering. If gotten you will retroactively get 1 progress towards that.

>>41661

The atmosphere is completely breathable with a simple rebreather on it seems. The higher oxygen content would make fire inte a much more potent threat as it would tend to get out of control a lot easier. And this would appear to be the case with the high amount of ash particles detected in the atmosphere.

The system is comprised of this one planet in the goldilock zone. outside it there are two small rocky planets closer as well as a Methane gas giant outside it. Several small planetoids also ourbit further out.

>>41667

You head to the gym and the exercise helps clear up your mind. However soon you see Caligula Harper Fall over on the treadmil Wheezing in pain and clutching his leg. You drag him over to the medbay where you give him a stern lecture about pacing himself. The medbay seems to be in order.

2. Yuri would spend the latter part of the week plotting the best course for the ark to take through the atmosphere to land. Since the ship lacks any proper chemical engines and retrothrusters it would be difficult to slow the massive vessel down enough to land softly, so Yuri would find a ample stretch of water to "skip" the vessel across to afford it as soft of a landing as could be obtained. After slowing the vessel down enough, it should be able to "coast" to its planned landing site. Yuri would do this by plotting a course that would allow the captain to choose one of several of the already proposed landing sites.

Fluff: Yuri is a headstrong and focused man. Of Russian decent born in the United States Yuri was raised to study hard and learn.

Name: Lawrence Craft

Fluff: Lawrence was a Logistician and Technical Engineer, and a member of the Human-Synthetic Ascension Movement. The Movement emphasized the use of cybernetic augmentations not merely to enhance the human body, but improve the human mind and allow it to interface directly with machines. For many years he devoted his life to studying and applying ways to integrate his own mind into computer systems, acting not through his body of flesh but through robots which were the new extensions of his mind. A man can only perform research with his two hands in one place at at time, but a man connected to a computer can research across different bodies in different places all at once.

As a Logistician and Technical Engineer, Lawrence spent a considerably amount of time preparing for this very event, using his brain augments to simulate highly accurate colony building scenarios and practice how to manage robots and resources in them.

Video games make it seem easy, when you need power, you build solar plants. When you need food, you build farms. But they leave out the most important details. What is the design of a solar plant, and how do you build it. What parts form it, how do you manufacture those parts. How do you manufacture the machine that makes those parts. What about the raw resources for them? How to find them, refine and use them? These are questions Lawrence has ensured he has the answer to, studying designs for parts replicators, assemblers, and advanced R&D and Construction robots.

His job here is to apply the designs from Earth's databanks into practical application via skillful control of robotics and advanced computer interface through cybernetic augments. He can speak to the AI on a level far beyond voice as others do, and see and work through the robots themselves.

1-2. This planet is reported to be low on several key resources.

In the event of an emergency need of materials or parts, I will look through Earth's databanks through my computer enhanced mind.

I believe there must have been a design for a matter replication device that could synthesize materials and objects from energy. This will be a stop gap measure until large scale manufacturing can be done.

Name: Gregor Adolf Furst

"Maybe I should have listened to the doctor" are the thoughts going through your head as your leg seizes up and you fall on the treadmill, your leg getting stuck in something and then there is an indescribeable pain. Thanks to your grit you manage to keep from senselessly screaming and instead immediately call the ship SI to summon the doctor.

>Permanent injury: shattered knee and shinbone. penalty to all rolls needing the leg untill advanced medical procedures are done to fix it.

>>41689

Heading towards the gym you get an emergency medical alert from the SI. Apparently Harper has managed to get himself hurt. Getting him back to the medbay a quick scan shows that his thighbone has gone THROUGH his knee and into the shinbone, shattering them both. Fluff: Yuri is a headstrong and focused man. Of Russian decent born in the United States Yuri was raised to study hard and learn.

E.Braun: Captain! That was an excellent landing. It would seem nobody was hurt and no equipment was damaged. I especially liked the fact that it locked outsiders from using the system during landing. It was very clever, give my regards to Mr. Kuznetsov

A.Umberman: Like hell it was an excellent landing. None of that was in the landing procedures. it got flooded by spam chat before shutting down.

E: Oh. Spam chat?

A: We've got to find out who messed with the SI, none of this was in the plan

E: I may have been poking around but it doesn't seem like any harm was done? If that wasn't a part of the plan, why did it lock people outside the control room out?

A: Doesn't seem like any harm was done? The ship went into maintenance mode because it was trying to repair itself! Right when we needed it to actually land where we wanted! We could be thousands of miles from the suited landing zone now? And who knows what the hell was lost in the SI when it was damaged?

E: I'm sorry Captain, I wasn't aware that it would take a majority of the processing power to land safely. I mean, it seems that it managed without any if what you're saying is true

A: We might have landed safely, but we sure as hell didn't land where, when and how we wanted. I'm going to have to ask you to speak with the Head of Security and debrief him on your activities. He can decide what to do. I've got way too much work to get done in the meantime.

Fluff: Oliver was always inspired by the stars and a huge technophile. Even as a child he was able to reprogram basic robots to due much more complex tasks and as he got older was able to make many modifications to them. When his talent was recognized he was able to get into university at the age of 12 and had spent 10 years claiming degree after degree in things like computers, robotics, ships, materials, and cybernetics, ballistics, etc… During this time he made many minor improvements to things, but never created anything truly unique. When he heard about the asteroid about to hit earth he immediately volunteered to help design and build the arks that could be humanity's only hope.

Right, of course. Why would things ever go as planned? Well the problem is being dealt with. And at least we're not dead, that's something.

1/2 - Go check up on the stasis pods and support systems, see how badly those were messed up, if at all.

3/4 - Since the S.I. is going to have to be kept on maintenance mode until we can get someone to fix it, now's the chance to do a bit of field work. Nothing serious, just take one of the flier drones around the ship. Analyze the soil content, atmosphere, and of course samples of any flora in the area.

>Name:

Amari Umberman

>Fluff:

As you stand in the airlock the ramp descends with a whir to allow you to exit. Jonas in his Mech and Campbell in an EVA suit with his combat robots.

Right before Jonas reaches the bottom of the ramp he freezes up. In front of him what he first thought was a large rock opens its eyes and a large toothed mouth. A loud hiss rattles him as the creature rises to 3 meters tall, 4 meters wide and 7 meters long. 6legged with a tail, a rocky exterior, and lots and lots of large teeth.

Effects of other lasers are hard to tell in the glare but the coilguns star ripping small pieces of its craggy hide off. withing seconds its eyes explode in bloody sprays, either from the immense head or from the metallic projectiles. from the hobbits and The Jotun mech.

The Lizard blindly charges forwards, flailing around it with the tail and the front claws, snapping where it remembered the mech was.

Completely crushing one the crawlers and a hobbit under its claws and swiping one of the fliers which disintegrates into a hundred pieces. The jaws close onto one of the Jotuns legs and a crushing sound is heard along with warning claxons and damage reports appear. Aiming both coilguns into the mangled face of the creature blood starts fountaining out from its ruined eyeholes as the slugs dig deeper and deeper until the creature stops struggling and instead start twitching slightly. To think that I'm going before a tribunal without being allowed to make my case is disappointing

I understand what happened was a danger to the lives of everyone on board and, if done maliciously, I would expect nothing less than life in prison. However, what happened was not intentional nor done with any malicious intent. I helped program the SI. Granted, I was not, in anyway, associated with the computing of trajectory, or lifesupport, or anything of the like. It was my job to make the system more accessable. To allow it to communicate with the people on board as another human might. It was my understanding that even during the most crucial points of our trip, the SI would have more than enough processing power to do it's job in case of an emergancy. I was informed that we would be landing in the next few weeks, I was not aware that the trajectory of landing or any of that space-flight jargon was happening the moment I accessed the SI to help me further my studies into replicating human intelligence inside a machine. What's more, we landed safely with no loss of life or injury and, from my understanding, with minor losses in data. If I were to be sentenced to do menial labour, I believe that to be not only an extreme punishment, but also a waste of my presence. I have the upper body strength of a toy poodle. I know how people think and, I do not wish to brag but, I know it the most.

Name: Gregor Adolf Furst

Gregor sat there quietly, waiting for them to all speak their piece and consider their viewpoints. He unconsciously started rubbing his crucifix before speaking. "Dr. Braun's good intentions, I believe, are key here. She would not be here if not for her skills, certainly the Captain has seen her profile and would concur, so, since we're all here to save humanity it would be in our best interests to use all assets to their fullest. I agree that she has made a mistake, her good intentions being ruined by her vice, but there is still room for redemption. I would recommend we imprison her, but, give her a closed network computer and provide code and data for her to analyze and improve upon. We can then cross examine her work and add it to our own conclusions if it seems valid. She can stay where she cannot harm the colony, while still providing for it. I pray you have some forgiveness in your hearts."

"While I would have agreed to more lenient punishment if she had only had poor timing in a desire to better the colony; she did not show this. I did a review of the code for Sia and it seems that she altered the code so that the SI would respond to the name Felix as well as speak in a masculine voice, as you have no doubt noticed. She also created some chat bots, simple learning programs, to speak to each other and the SI. The strain of the time and the code change caused the SI to go into maintenance mode, and you all know the rest. As well, unless Captain Umberman gave her permission to perform these changes, she made these changes to a key ship system with no authorization. She has shown a complete disregard for proper procedure, a willingness to abuse SI access to be used in emergencis, and has put the entire mission at risk for nothing more than her own pet projects and desires. While we do need everyone we can get I do not trust her to do her job if she is just going to work on pet projects that have no benifit in the current situation. At the very least we should remove her computer access."

Three fliers are sent up to act as a triangulating system. and using that system another flier starts scouting the area. It spots many strange plants and creatures it conveys back through its comms. The creatures range from as small as your thumb and insectsized to one giant that was busy munching on a tree. The beast was 25 meters tall and twice as long. it had the width of several trucks and the earth shook as it walked. Most of these creatures seem to have 6 limbs and sensory organs where you'd expect them for earthlife. maybe the strangest creature was what looked like a giant bulbous mantaray that nudged one of the LPS fliers with its wing as it flew past. The plants mostly aren't much larger than those on earth but they do seem sturdier. There is a surprising ammount of radioactive particles in the soil. Not enough for to worry but more than expected. It could be a result of the frequent meteor showers. The atmosphere is breathable for a few minutes at a time without any protective gear. After that you could expect a rising headache and blurriness of vision. Followed by hemmoraghing from the capilaries in the eyes and nose as well as unconciousness and eventually death.

Fluff: Yuri is a headstrong and focused man. Of Russian decent born in the United States Yuri was raised to study hard and learn.

>>41856

>Name:

Amari Umberman

>Fluff:

Name: Armian Brochlev

Fluff:Armian was born into the lower class and ended up working as a miner so that he could afford to pay for school. He earned his bachelors in Demolition Engineering and oddly enough used it to further his mining career. He specialized in removing resources fast. Giving up the larger amount of resources from a slow mine in return for quick and destructive mining. He quickly became immensely popular among many mining companies (while ascending to almost enemy #1 to most eco-groups). Eventually he was recruited to join the ARK.

Already we are under attack by natives. This will go wonderfully. Wait a minute. Those hides are made of rock formations. Very interesting. They would likely need to hide in a natural cave formation for much of their early life to form rock patterns, and natural caves generally mean natural resources. Could be metal could be some good crystals. Watch the battle closely but safely paying all attention to it. Watch where the animals run to. The preliminary scans failed so we will have to find these creatures nesting grounds as the next most likely area of mining.

Name: Gregor Adolf Furst

1. I should attempt to increase the range of the mineral scanners in order to find resources in the area. We'll undoubtedly need them if we want long-term survivability here.

2. After that I think I'll go try to set up some electric fences around the perimeter to protect our base from those shelled things and whatever else might be lurking around.

3. Brochlev has been missing for some time now. Send a flier to locate him and lead him back to the base. Hopefully he hasn't gotten himself eaten.

Well shit I am lost. Normally you are supposed to stay put I here. But those fucks didn't even realize I was still in stasis for 6 weeks if I wait for them to save me I will be dead long before anyone even realizes I am gone. So I have a plan to grab their attention.

1.2.(not sure how to split them up) Climb a tree and set one of the charges to go off via remote detonation. Then climb down and find a place to shelter decently safe away. once I am in shelter signal the explosive to trigger and they will know damn well where I am.

Name: Gregor Adolf Furst

Name: Huangdan Wong

Fluff: Huangdan Wong is not a lucky man. Huangdan Wong was not chosen for his intelligence, his warrior's spirit or his good looks, all of which are in dubious supply. Huangdan Wong was put on the Ark because he was, as far as the Chinese government could tell, the best fucking driver in the Eastern Hemisphere. He's driven cars, bikes, trucks, tractors, boats, planes, tanks, APCs and even a mech or two. He's driven on grassland, ice, marshlands, deserts, forests, and war-torn urban sprawls. He does not brag about his impeccable driving record and skill behind the wheel, though this is partly because outside of his native Chinese he barely speaks any English. He reads it well enough, though, and knows directions when he hears them. If it's got tires, treads, feet, or repulsor-jets on the ground, then Huangdan can drive the sumbitch into a tarpit and back out the other side before you can say "ni hao."
