He sneers at you whilst chomping on a leg of mutton the fat streaming down his face. It seems he is not speaking simply eating and watching you.

The man smiles at your comment gripping your hand as you face across the table. While it seems at first you have the advantage by all most forcing his hand to the table eh inch by inch pushes you back a small smirk playing across his lips as you strain to stop him in the slightest.
After your humiliating defeat he stands up giving a gracious bow towards you. Taking your hand he whirls you out on the dance floor with great ease a laugh and a smile.
"Now I believe you owe me a dance. This one is a favourite of mine."
He then pulls you into a dance known as the Gorim Stomp very popular on Astorif.

The dance is a whirling dervish of stomps and kicks with every passing beat the pace increases with many dancers dropping off to the sides as the pace increases. Joining with the strange man the pair of you dominate the dance as you push yourself to go far longer as sweet streams down your face. Eventually however it is just to much and you are forced to drop out as only the strange man remains full of seemingly boundless energy as he entrances the room. Only when the song ends does he taking a deep bow dragging applause from among the patrons of the tavern.
Not long after he approaches you dabbing sweat from his brow before giving you another bow, he bows way to much,
"Thank you for that wonderful dance you did well keeping up, do find me in the palace if you ever visit."
With that he tosses you a talisman and strides out the door into the cool night.

But where as the people who would wish me ill keep a close eye on me, they would see the people of the slums, the urchins, maids, servants, and the like, as beneath them. They do not guard their tongues nearly so well and since your people are allowed all over the city barring the noble quarter, you can keep a sharp on what goes on in and around the city. That's what I need. You give me truthful information I can use to keep an eye on the city and those in it, and I … can make it worth your while." The nobleman gave his spiel with a silken smile, confident the gang boss would take his bait.

Alden accepts the young knightess's hand and leads her off to dance. Even he had heard of her exploits in her battle against the pirates, albeit not from the usual gossip mongering sources. She was formidable, and the dress did little to hide her rippling muscle. Still this was a ball and he would lead as such.
Alden's eyes narrow at her jibe at his less than stellar martial record. Was the woman truly so daft as to ask him to dance to simply insult him? He responds, "Well dame Sapphires, if there is ever a brawl in the ballroom, I am sure you will be at the root of it."
