Well I went to upgrade the amount at the same time anyway, was on 8, decided to move up to 16, and fix the speed.
Would have been buying more RAM anyway, at least this way Im a little futureproof.
(Although thats a lie, because any upgrades I make now will need DDR4 RAM instead)

Yeah, there's really no such thing as future proofing when it comes to PCs, especially as they're always changing the standards, sizes, socket types, etc. to really make sure you're buying as much as possible when you want to upgrade. I get that sometimes things have to be changed in order to improve performance/efficiency, but it's pure kikery to change it every time they come out with mildly upgraded or nearly identical model. I'm looking at you, Intel.

Yep, both the current and last processor I bought needed new motherboards, and I bought them both being the best processors that motherboard would be able to handle. At least I kept my RAM between the two, although next time any better processor with need a motherboard that only supports DDR4.

Two years ago I had a big clear out of nearly all my 2006-tier clothes, kept all my pants from then though because they're still in good condition (as I spent so many years exclusively in my pyjamas), and they're just too comfy to throw away. Witcher 3 has been the main game I've been playing this year, which I'm still playing whenever the weather's not too hot, but I've also gotten back into modding a bit, particularly Elder Scrolls games. Lately I just haven't been getting the framerates I'd become accustomed to with this ageing rig from older / less intensive games, and the fact I'm now pushing a GTX 770 2GB to run at 2560x1440@120Hz (g-sync), as opposed to 1680x1050@60Hz, doesn't help matters.
I'd like to upgrade to a GTX 1070 or something. Raw power aside, the 2GB of VRAM on my current card has become a massive bottleneck now that texture resolutions in games/mods are regularly becoming 2048px² (2K) or even 4096px² (4K).

Each time it's happened has been in the very early hours of the morning, I don't think I ever noticed any police being there. Then again I was always completely hammered so that doesn't mean they weren't there.
I've never had so much as a scratch on my car though, so I suppose I don't do too bad a job of driving while drunk. Still utterly appals me when I wake up and realise what I've done, though.
