I consider myself pretty moral, at least with regards to my real-life actions, and I have very strict boundaries as to what I will and will not do. My mind on the other hand can be extremely degenerate at times, but morality is all about not acting on your thoughts, and I've been great at that so far.

My mum had a Catholic upbringing, and my dad claims to be an atheist I distinctly remember him describing himself as agnostic in my youth, but I guess atheism became a lot more "in" since then but neither of my parents tried to instil any kind of religion on to me, at least beyond being christened a Roman Catholic.

Most of my values line up with Christian morals, but I wouldn't consider myself a Christian at least, not yet. I've never practised the faith to any extent, and I know fuck all about it really. I kind of wish I'd been taught it when I was younger, and lived in a nice moral community, but oh well.

Definitely do that. Of course it will take time and be a gradual process, but from mine and others experiences, those episodes will get smaller and smaller as you progress and build momentum.

The problem with SSRIs is that while they can potentially kill the "feelings" of depression which should quite honestly be there if your mindset and thought processes are messed up, just like physical pain, depression exists to tell you that something is wrong, they can also kills feelings of joy, destroy your willpower, and eventually give you chronic depression with no way of alleviating it.

It's absolutely possible to overcome depression without drugs, and you'll improve you're entire life in the process, but when you rely on drugs to "fix" things AKA sweep your body's correct response to a bad way of thinking/living under the rug, that guarantee is gone.

I always wondered what caused me to fly off the bike that day, I guess that could've been it. I was about 14 and riding with my dad for the first time in years, but my confidence and ego never recovered after that, and I pretty much swore off cycling forever.

Kind of regret it now, it would be handy if I was the kind of person who rode a bike, walking is too inefficient/slow and driving is expensive/lazy for smaller distances. I know they say you can never forget how to ride a bike, but I never had much experience with them to begin with. My mum would only let me go up and down our street, and that got old very quickly.

I've never applied for a job in my life, most of the last 8 years has been spent shut in my bedroom because I had a phobia of leaving it and also of being around/talking to people IRL/online/on the phone/anywhere, so having a job has long been a terrifying nightmare scenario. In other self-improvement related news, I've been doing pretty good with my exercise, I'm now up to 7.5kg dumbbells for floor press and straight-leg deadlifts, and I can plank for 125 seconds. To put that into perspective, I started out struggling with 1kg each hand, and I could only plank for 15 seconds. My body has noticeably improved in terms of appearance too, less skinny and "limp", more of a "manly" shape, especially around my core and my shoulders.

this is a great overall guide, I like the fact that it advises you to only progress by one rep per session. This way, you will focus more on your form rather than shoddy form to get more reps. Dorsal raises are another great excercise, one of the only ways you can develop the traps at home. You can do full body if you want to work out your glutes too or you can just do upper body for shoulders and traps.

there are ways to work around your issue. For example, start your press-ups on your knees instead of having your legs fully extended. If that is also too much effort, than you can do them on an incline – put your knees on the floor and your hands on your bed– this shortens the distance you have to travel meaning less effort is expended. If that was somehow to difficult you could even do pressups up standing up and leaning slightly against a wall.

For any other excercise, simply only do the negative portion. For squats, squat downwards coming into a seated position on your bed, then stand up again. For pullups, stand on a chair so you start the pullup with your chin already above the bar, then stop off and lower yourself down as slow as possible.

If you've never been before, be prepared for questions like "so what would you like to achieve here over the next 6 weeks?" and "what do you think should be the next step?", because they ask shit like that to me all the time and I never know how to respond.

To get the ball rolling, I wrote out a note with specific things I wanted to focus on, what my goals were, etc., and handed it over to my current therapist, because I have real trouble saying anything other than "yes/no/maybe/dunno" when I'm face to face with people that aren't my close family. You probably won't need to do that if you're able to talk to people, but for me it helped a lot.

Also they'll probably suggest that you start taking drugs, but don't dive into anything like that without doing serious research and asking around first.

Try to maintain eye contact as well, again I don't know if that's something you struggle with but it is for me, and really forcing myself to not lower my eyes has helped a lot.
