i have a vpn but it slows my speeds to a crawl and a few sites i use (vidya forums, music/folm review sites) instantly block me.
i just spent my afternoon arguing with a shitskin on the phone who was trying to rationalise censorship and wasnt even aware telstra was doing this till i told him. i then proceeded to spend the rest of my night trying to figure out pic related to no avail. i shouldnt have to be putting up with this bullshit and paying them too

Try subbing to a different VPN mate. Mine's pretty quick, but I'm with a major provider and I'm in a metro area so idk what your deal is.

secure dns is a single setting in firefox, but it won't work unless you've set your dns to an open server like google (8.8.8.8) or cloudflare (1.1.1.1) I think 4chan has rangebanned australia from posting though so you're gonna need the vpn/proxy and a pass because nearly all the vpns and proxies are banned from the chans.
I don't know why the gov doesn't just legalize weed and give out brothel vouchers though, if we have to live through a brave new world you'd think they could crank up the soma and orgie porgie.

Luckily Australian ISP censorship is really easy to get around. Just change your DNS provider. You can even do it on your router settings so everyone in your family gets stuff unblocked. It's not like China where you have to use encrypted DNS. I still recommend encrypted DNS: go to Firefox preferences, scroll to bottom, network settings, scroll to the bottom, enable DNS over https.
