Is it really this easy to find gold in Australia? There's this show called "Aussie Gold Hunters" that I started watching recently and I'm just shocked that they're finding huge nuggets there. Has anyone here ever had any experiences or know someone who went out to prospect for gold?

I've tried my hand at this here in California but even during the 19th century gold rush it was quite rare to find nuggets like this, most of the gold here are just tiny flakes. Would be fun to get nuggets instead even if it is considerably harder.

yeah m8, gold is everywhere here we kinda don't pay it much attention tbh, for example I have two nuggets about 12 inch across that I use for door stops. They tell us its not really worth much unless you get a truck load full then you usually only get about $200 for it

Gold is a soft metal.. good for electrical work but bad for mechanic engineering work

Prospecting and Fossicking is fairly big among the Gray Nomads I've met mostly in WA.
