Be suspicious of characters instantly calling out the mental health of individuals quickly. They are experts at character assassination, and calling into question someone's credibility.

Videos can be altered permanently to fix any "anomalies" do not trust videos that come in blocky or with lapses. Think about how good a simple camera phone is, there is no reason for videos to look like they are shot in 1999.
Seemingly, text, or written messages are not easy to alter reasons why are beyond scope of this. This however comes usually with attacks of the material in some way.
Believe some of what you see, none of what you hear, and half of what you read.
If you are attacked for learning and exploring claim it is for a fictional book and if they still are upset, then its clear which side they reside on.
