The best video games are those that focus on gameplay than story. I may be on the unpopular opinion, but it is what it is. You don't get to 'watch' a video game, but 'play' it instead. If the gameplay is great, then a bad story is more than forgiven in most cases than having terrible gameplay.

games can be a great mediun for storytelling, but when your game its more a movie than a interactive experience you just throw out all potential of the medium.
