Let me give you the skinny:
"Tony Hawk got very pissed (literally) back when Activision and Robomodo took their dong and showered everything he stood for when they made Pro Skater 5. He got full creative control back a couple of years later, and is now re-making "THPS2x" for modern systems (this time, with a better company, with the original source code, and most of the original Neversoft developers)."
I still doubt it like a Disney Movie Trailer since Activision is still publishing it, but if Tony gives us at least "the same game, but with better graphics (and no microtransactions)", then I'm all up for it.

That garbage is going to be ran straight into the ground, I can only hope after it does that the Earthworm Jim game gets ported to something that's not completely shit. I don't know what the hell Doug is thinking Intellivision must be paying him a pretty penny and funding the game entirely for him to be doing this. It's ust a bunch of old out of touch farts who think they are Nintendo and their garbage IPs, console and games can somehow garner any type of nostalgia. They are marketing to families like little Billy has any inerest in playing Pong in 2020. They are trying to make another Wii in 2020 and don't realize that their IPs hold no value today especially with kids unlike Nintendo.

I'm not one of those "pre-order" yuppies if that's what you're wondering.
I let them do the dirty work for me, and tell me if the game's worth buying or not.
I also said as long as there are no micro-transactions, I might consider buying it (hopefully at a discount).
Not all new developers will do a splendid job recreating that early magic, but all you need is the right kind of people to try it (maybe even do it better than the original).
This is just one of those "let's wait and see" situations.
