Are there any games like Sonic CD or Mania that actually make you feel something due to it's presentation? I want a sidescroller that really makes me feel immersed and engaged with the world. Maybe even maximizing it's gameplay potential for instance having you get creative with routes and jumps like CD at times makes you do when you're not cheesing it. Etc I just want something that feels unique and memorable I suppose. Something with a perfect mix of soundtrack and artstyle.

Can we talk about how bad Mania was? Purely the only reason people claim it to fame is because it reminds them of older, better games. Older Sonic games had actual level design and enemy design to go along with it. Mania is just a rehash. Nice to see a fellow CD lover out there though, even if it's one with the grammar skills of an 8th grader making his weird ass ramblings into a thread..

Yeah I didnt like Mania either which is why I commended it's presentation. Gameplay wise it's hold right and press x at precise moments. I'm not site what other sonic games had level design 3 was gimmicky and boring othat game is where all the nostalgiafags came from. 2 is perfect, 1 is just mario with emphasis on speed but very much enjoyable. Not sure about Rush and Knuckles never really played them.
