As someone who hasn't played the other Xeno series games, I don't understand, I'm confused about the ending. Is it being connected to another game or is this just set up for another game to be connected in the future? For an Epilogue, it raises more questions than answering them.

This is just a general answer to these type of questions. But not everything needs an answer and sometimes not knowing is way more satisfying than any answer you already hypothesized from the information you do have. In this capitalistic society however, the answer is always that it's all sequel bait in a (fictional) world that was never all that thought out to begin with. Take the world at face value. Don't expect it to be realistic. Knowing this would you still want to know whatever possible thing it is you wish to know? It is connected in what you think it is without being a definitive yes because nothing has been planned out yet. It's meant to get you talking, thinking and the like without ever giving you a true unambiguous answer. Does it matter? The connection is nothing but fanwank written to justify a rerelease 10 years after the creation instead of creating something new with the knowledge you've gained over the years. Why do you even care if this yes or no answer is a yes or a no? Just because you don't know?
