2:FM is one of the best ARPG's ever made if you play it on crit. Haven't had so much fun fighting bosses since Ninja Gaiden Black.
I think DDD could also be considered one of the "bad" games in the series. It kind of forces you to embrace the half baked "pokemon" mechanic so if you can't get into that you aren't going to have a great time with it. Also, the story is pretty much filler until the very end.

Aside from Nomura being a literal faggot/child molester, you need to consider the fact that all those "names of the industry" types (Like Nomura, Kojimbo, Miyamoto, Cliff Berzinski, Numale Sky's cross-eyed freak which I can't even remember the name) are all hacks and frauds.
