While I personally don't give a shit about the games themselves, I find it interesting that Sony would rather delay the games for a year rather than going digital only. That and seeing how they literally can't wait a few months to see if warm weather kills corona-chan tells me that they just wanna put more devs into full blown crunch mode, mainly so they make a PS5 version. Anyway here's the message from Neil Cuckmann.

$100 says that they delayed Last of Us 2 because it's gonna be cross-gen with the PS5 and they want to release it for both consoles at the same time. This is just the ideal excuse, since they get to do it and Reddit will call them wonderful amazing people for it.
Nintendo did the same thing with Metroid Prime 4. It was gonna be a Switch game but the Switch is successful so they don't need it anymore. Instead, they can make MP4 crossgen between the Switch and the next console and still be heroes in the eyes of Reddit for "caring about the quality of the franchise" or whatever.

IIRC, it's doing good but its still only at about 1/4th to 1/2 the operating income and sales of their gaming division, not enough to hold the rest of the company if their gaming division goes by the wayside. You can see the same thing happening with Jewgle and (((streamers))). They all jumped to what made money faster and with the less amount of effort. The same thing was done when all companies shifted manufacturing to China. It is all the same retardation of wanting to put all eggs in one basket.
The thing with games is that it is never profitable for too long. Normalfags get bored by games pretty quickly, as it is just a fad to them. And Gamers will always want only high quality and high effort products.

I haven't been following Iron man too closely but I am pretty sure that Tlou2 is shit and they know it. The game has been in development since at least 2014, that is 6 years of development, 7 if they started right after Tlou1 released. No game that has been is development that long has ever turned out to be good. Especially when you consider that Tlou is just Uncharted with crafting(+ bit more emphasis on stealth). Games like that do not need 6-7 years of development.
Its going to be another Bioshock Infinite situation. Journos will orgasm over it and for a few months normies will eat it up, but then it will silently kill the franchise. Soyny will realize that the sales did not recuperate 6-7 years of development and gamers will see it for the piece of shit it is(lesbians or no lesbians). Naughty Dog will probably end up like Rareware, a shovelware developer.

Maybe on paper but not in a practical sense. Most of what makes Video games bigger than movies or music is clustered around safe bets like sports games(that are not really popular because people like the games themselves) and Mobil shit that simply siphon money through reoccurring micro transactions.
Its not that Witcher or battlefield are now bigger than say Star Wars or LOTR, its just that on paper when you add up all the candy crushes and Fifas you get more net profitability than with movies or music.
Any game outside of these aforementioned safe clusters is pretty much working with an audience that has not expanded since the days of PS2.

The Vita was always doomed to fail. The memory cards were insanely expensive and its hardware was a nightmare to develop games for. And I say that as one of the 2 people who actually bought the Vita on release.

Can't speak for Iron Man, but Coronavirus is likely just a PR cover for TLoU2 having massive development problems, and Druckmann being a huge douche of a boss that has killed studio morale under his chronic mismanagement leading to oppressive levels of cruch. It's already been pushed back once or twice, and we've been hearing grumblings from people on the team for a while now.
That, and I'm sure Sony themselves wouldn't mind having a convenient excuse to push the game off to the launch of the PS5 in order to pad out it's launch lineup. I almost wouldn't be surprised if they released it first on PS5 with a staggered launch for a PS4 version, or have the PS4 version just canned outright with the excuse of "irrepairable performance issues" and putting a focus on the fast loading to maintain the cinematic experience.
