It's out in North America now, lads. Have you played it yet or have been playing it? Any other arcade games you wish would make a similar comeback?

I had it a couple months ago since I got my bing bing wahoo loaded up with cfw. I only played the original bubble bobble on i think one of those namco sort of anniversary games on the ps2

>boss fights aren't as bad as I would have thought, you just shoot them down with bubbles and hope they fucking die

>powerups are a nice addition

>if i recall some nice quality of life changes, although the movement isn't as stiff as the original game which can been as either a plus or negative

>you can actually beat the game and the game doesn't softlock as I heard in some other bubble bobble game

As for other arcade games:

>Breakout (there's brand new game only for the amico)

>Splatterhouse, the reboot is kind of ass to play and would have prefer the classic side-scrolling game, the beat em up in the third game wasn't too bad but the US version was kind of ruined because you could just spam the spin kick

>DAYTONA USA, the daytona usa 3 is actually a port of dreamcast's daytona usa 2001

No because they'll fuck it up. At this point, I wish all my favorite games I grew up on would stay dead so they don't taint my memories of them.

Small nitpick, but I wish they would've kept the colored cheeks on the dinosaurs.

I haven't been able to find any physical copies of the game, which is how I would like to play it. I have the internet to download it, but one of my biggest fears is that everything digital will just one day disappear, plus having a physical version feels neat. I've been debating if I should just order it online or wait until I see it in stores.

Why would a new game taint the memories of the original you enjoyed playing so much? If it's a game that's important to you enough, then a new attempt shouldn't ruin it. It might ruin it's reputation for people that didn't know about an original, but that shouldn't drag down the quality of the original.

You can still do backups of digital games (with cfw), but some launch eShop games are really hard to find.

Release date said it was today and I've seen it on the eShop, but I haven't been able to find it physically in any stores and all the online shopping options I see say "Pre-Order" and that it will be out by April 30th - May 4th.

There aren't a whole lot of GameStops around here, what's going on with them?

The original arcade Bubble Bobble is one of the greatest arcade games of the 80's that still holds up today. I have the PS1 version that comes with Rainbow Islands, another fine game. It still baffles me to this day why they just didn't make levels 100 to 200 with the same format, it would have sold fine. I also bought the mini arcade because of the nostalgia, but it has the NES version and no diamond doors, but it looks nice

But is it a worthy successor to Bubble Symphony, the best Bubble Bobble sequel ever made?
