I'm excited, even though this is the original version of the game with Twink Nier instead of Papa Nier. I've already played the version of Papa Nier, so at least this presents a new experience. However I doubt that they're going to completely redub it in English to reflect the different protag, so I imagine we'll get getting raw Japanese audio with subtitles. And that makes me a little worried.
These days there is always the very real possibility with remasters that they're going to be fucked up, whether it's from a poor port forward by incompetent devs or liberal cum guzzlers censoring shit. The port is being done by a company named ToyLogic which doesn't seem to have a stellar record, pic related, and if we are getting all Japanese with subtitles that's a lot of room for for 'localization.'

I thought the JP PS3 version already got an English patch. But yeah, I wouldn't have much faith in modern Square-Enix (or whoever they hire; this is the company that was fine with tumblr-tier "xe/xi/xo/xum" shit in Type-0's remaster) not to censor, or fuck it up in some way out here. Though I suppose that comes down to whether or not they opt to be cheap and lazy; if that's the case, they may well just port the existing English script and only make changes where there's actual deviation between the versions.

OST is nice, characters are interesting, couldn't really grasp much because my japanese is still very limited, but gameplay wise it was boring, it's the standard gacha gameplay with the same gacha grid you see in stuff life granblue fantasy.
It has a focus on some PvP type raids and it was fun getting into a team and interacting with the nips with nothing more than the stickers, if you understand nip you'll probably get way more out of it than I did, but gameplay wise it's not worth it.
But hey, that didn't stop me from 100% Drakengard so who knows. Maybe there's something neat hidden in there, for some reason it still hasn't died.
I like the character design as well despite feeling like it suffers from some characters being overdesigned.

Automata was shit easy. I suck balls at other platinum games like Bayo, and I never had much difficulty in Automata, not even on Very Hard. The only time I had to switch out of Very Hard was during the limping scene where your movement is completey restricted and it's impossible to avoid taking hits. Reeks of a lack of playtesting. Platinum dropped the ball on this and I partially blame Taro for forcing in JRPG mechanics like leveling where they weren't needed and ruined the ability to balance the game.

I agree on the leveling system as it would break any difficulty if you start to overlevel the content which was actually hard to avoid. I doubt Papa Nier was liked at all given the only reason for his existence was Western influence trying to fundamentally change the core source material: /v/'s go-to worst case scenario for localization because you can't even go for native JP releases to escape censorship. Changing the source material is then the biggest sin. Square Enix wanted only Papa Nier to appease the West and it was only when Yoko and co. threatened to cancel the whole project that Squre backed off and they compromised on doing a dual-release for both versions of Nier. Papa Nier only exists because of Western pandering faggotry and he was reason for almost killing the entire game if the Japs couldn't get their original vision.
