I noticed certain pattern on games that have survival and wilderness elements, take as an example S.T.A.L.K.E.R., in vanilla you have blind dogs that aren't actively agressive, just territorial, boars and fleshes behave in the same manner, now most mods try to be like Call of Misery (this is a trend since MISERY for CoP), the mod makes the game harder, so now all the mutants are actively agressive and will chase you across the entire map (in the MISERY days, i was chased by a whole zoo of mutants, snorks, pseudodogs, bloosuckers), so they overwritten the A-life on them to not hunt other mutants and also you will see stuff like boars stalking you like a bloodsucker or snork and cats killing you with one hit, they are deadlier than pseudodogs being smaller (like a compact bloodsucker), so often you get killed by dogs in the end (in vanilla blindogs can be even helpfull because they will chase mutants like snorks that enters their territory), also there are games like neo-scavenger where you can get killed by a willd dog if you dont have the melee perk, and in neo-scavenger like in MISERY you need the specific stuff do tasks like getting something to drink, in neo-scavenger you get sick if you drink spring water, you need to get the Wallmart(TM) purification tables, you can boil it, but its spring water, you can get poisoned (not even infected) or you cant make a sack from clothes and carry it with a strap, you need to get the Wallmart (TM) survival backpack, same as in MISERY where food is expensive because hard games are good.

Now there are games like Unreal World, STALKER vanilla whit the mutant A-life, Banished, Pathologic where a piece of cloth can help you prevent an infection in some degree, that are more beliable in rewards of dangers and difficulties, i am the only one that noticed this trend of games with devs that think a dog can kill an adult man? where to solve X you need an specific Y item that is manufactured and you find in stores and there is no work arround to solve X without Y?, this behaivor always repeat with canis animals, like in the Long Dark where wolves are roadblocks.

TL;DR
