I just got to fucking Atlantica in KH2 and it made me want to kill myself and make this thread.
What are some really shit minigames? Between bad Mario Party minigames, boring minigames in GTA and out-of-place rhythm minigames that come out of fucking nowhere, I feel like devs have this weird notion that making the player do more things that aren't the main gameplay somehow equals more fun. Or they just really like dumb minigames. Either way unless it's Yakuza it usually doesn't turn out very well.

Pretty much everything in DK64. Forcing you to switch characters to play them was bad enough as well as being necessary at some points to progress the game, some don't even work right like Beaver Bother with a hole that has an invisible barrier that the beaver's sometimes gets stuck on. The later stages were harder since you had to get more beavers down a hole in 60 seconds while you constantly got these glitched beavers stuck from this invisible barrier. Since up to 4 can only spawn at one time, you might as well start over if you get a bad run of not getting enough beavers down the hole quick enough to respawn to reach the required number.

Came here to say this. The minecart minigame and the beetle slide minigame could've been better if they expanded them a bit more, but overall I don't see why they couldn't of replaced the mini games with miniature platforming stages (think DKC and Crash) other than if they were on a time crunch or it would've been more costly.

There's others that aren't good but aren't bad, there's actually one fairly good Robotron clone so that's actually fun without the OG sound effects and much less clean visuals it's still vastly inferior to the real deal but it plays fine but fuck me do the bad one leave a mark

I actually liked the minigame because you unlock the rest gradually. I'd say the Winnie Pooh minigames are far worse than a mediocre rhythm minigame.
