Longtime player here. I had cut down on this game for a while so I could recover from the burnout. It seems to have worked 'cause I find myself enjoying it again.

Let It Die's biggest problem is that there isn't much left to do at endgame besides unlocking every last thing (which is mostly a chore) and experimenting with different builds and loadouts (which is pure fun and the lifeblood of the endgame).

As with any game, the trick to enjoying LID long-term is to balance your activity with other games (or your social life if you have one) so you don't burn out.

So let's have a Let It Die general thread. Discuss the metagame, the lore, the soundtrack, etc.

P.S. - I haven't uncapped the latest Yo-yo weapon yet. What's the verdict on it? Is it better or worse than the Jackal Yo-yo?

2019, huh? That's when the V3 Jackals first appeared. Well, there are V4 Jackals now, and Fighters can be uncapped further to wear up to 8 decals. You can find all the details on the Let It Die Wiki.

The 4 season weapons of 2019 were the Flail, the Bow, the Timber, and the Stun Gun.

Me too. As critical as I am of GungHo, at least they haven't let it die.

almost every single update apart from four horsemens is a power creep

also uncle death is oddly light for his height, personally i think the game is only worth kind of playing from 1 to 40 and even then it was quite painful due to the free to play nature of the game, death metal is best used for storing mats and maybe getting super rare decals, it's hard enough to research one weapon but it gets to the point where you need to research two good weapons and the game becomes kind of horseshit to manage, you raid when you need the blueprint for the overpowered seasonal weapon that btfos everything and to get cash to revive yourself, the game is kind of garbage but the soundtrack and aesthetics is top tier

i stopped playing because the game hasn't had a real update since the "infinite floors" thing. its just powercreep and more powercreep with no real content or development and honestly grinding pointless numbers got boring because you know that as soon as you're getting some decent numbers they'll release a new "color" of deathroid or a new tier of gear and you're back to square one, they keep moving the goalposts and releasing new shitty toys nobody uses because the KAMAS-SP is undeniably the ultimate weapon of the game that lets you rush through everything.

its an absolute and utter waste of an amazing post-apocalyptic setting and interesting characters.

OP here again. Let's discuss the metagame for a bit. As you probably know, the Machete has one of the best single-meter Rage moves for fighting Haters because it counters nearly any attack they throw at you and also inflicts a guaranteed knockdown that leaves the enemy completely vulnerable to further damage. However, since the introduction of the Helmet decals, it's not quite viable to headshot a downed enemy to death like it used to be. So I've been experimenting to maximize the damage I can inflict on a downed opponent.

The Drill is excellent with the right decals, especially if you have the buffed TDM Drill variation. I've looked around the internet, and metagame info on this weapon seems strangely scarce. I guess most players abandoned the Drill back when it was underpowered (stuck in 3rd-Tier Hell), and never looked back. Well, I'm happy to confirm the Drill has done a lot of catchup in the power climb, and now it's a beast of a weapon. I'm confident enough to say it's currently one of the best melee weapons in the game.

If you're lucky enough to get a "Drill Addict", "Drill Mole", and/or "Judge's Gavel" decal, you're pretty much set to kick ass with the Drill. But even without those decals, you can experiment with whatever decals you have on hand and find good results. The Drill is quite flexible.

Move set:

Shoulder Trigger = Hold to spin the drill and deal continuous damage to enemy. Great against guarding opponents. Overheats after a while, but you can bypass the overheat with a quick weapon switch.

Shoulder Button = Quick jab. Great for counters.

X Button = Down attack. Super useful. Deals major damage to a downed opponent, unless they have the "Play Dead" decal. But even if they do, it's better to hit them than not to.

The Drill's Rage move is interesting, and I need to experiment a lot more with it before I can properly judge its viability, but it basically shoots out a land-bound drill bit that slides across the floor and rebounds off walls, similarly to the puck from the Hockey Stick's Rage move. Sadly, your own drill bit can damage you if it hits you, but on the bright side, it's larger and slower than the puck so it's easier to avoid. The drill bit projectile seems to wear down as it deals damage, and eventually disappears. Sometimes it sticks on contact and deals continuous damage to whoever it hits.

Fortunately, the Drill's Rage move only takes one meter, so if you like to live (and die) dangerously, give it a spin.

>they keep moving the goalposts and releasing new shitty toys nobody uses because the KAMAS-SP is undeniably the ultimate weapon of the game that lets you rush through everything.

Like I said, the rifle is not as OP as it used to be. The headshot bonus can be minimized and even nullified, and piercing resistance in general is on the rise. It's still a good weapon though.

The Death Metals' revive mechanic is ethically questionable, but at least it can't be used if you die in a Jackal fight or a TDM Raid.

That said, the first 40 floors are definitely the best part of the game. (Aside from those rage-inducing locked gates in the 30s, of course.)

I got back into this game two weeks ago. I hadn't played it since 2017 when it first came out on PS4. I got up to floor 35 but quit because the grind was just too much. Now, I'm on floor 31 and hastily seeing why I stopped playing before. I don't plan on quitting until I get to endgame, however.

I'm honestly enjoying it, as I also did initially.

Haven't played in over a year. I had drill specialist decal and the drill was one of the best weapons in the game since it is chainstun and that fact that the quick jab does so much damage and weapon has so much durability that it'll last a LONG time.

The rage move sucks because it's too random and you can easily kill yourself with it.

Well, now that I've done a lot more testing with the Drill's Rage move, I can confirm it's really good, at least for TDM Raids. I'll test it on Tengoku bosses next, and let you all know how it goes.

Basically, it's a high-risk, high-reward Rage move. If you misfire, it can kill you, but if you get a clean hit on the enemy, it stunlocks him and you can spam with follow-ups. Being a single-meter Rage move makes it exploitable and OP as fuck. It does very, VERY high DPS, so even the beefiest Defender can be killed with a few meters in no time, which is vital for high-rank TDM Raids.

Vid related, some examples of success and failure with the Drill Rage. In hindsight, it's obviously not a good idea to shoot the drill bit from your left hand when the wall is angled to your left. But then again, you should distance yourself from the wall altogether when you shoot. I recommend practicing, and eventually you'll get better at it and minimize your risk. The Drill Rage is a wild beast, but if you can tame it, you'll never have to worry about TDM's 3-minute time limit again.

(Almost needless to say, it's super important to wear Rage Gauge gain boosting decals like Wolf.)

Just got back from Tengoku, and the test results are pretty disappointing. The Drill Rage is useful against JIN-DIE and Jackson (who have a tank-like body base), but not so much against the rest of the bosses because they're elevated on legs or a tail so the ground-bound drill bit isn't likely to stick to them.

That being said, the Drill Rage can be pretty useful at some chokepoints in the dungeon, especially when you have the high ground.

Let It Die's website just revealed a month-long event to celebrate 6 million downloads.

From March 30 to April 29, repeatable quests for crafting metals will be available, daily login rewards will be much better than usual, Hernia will contain discounted items, continues will be free once per day, and most importantly, the Dustin on Tengoku boss floors will be FREE.

Now I gotta say that last part raises some flags for me. Gung Ho's greedy ass would normally never make Dustin 5 free. What's the catch? Is the game on its last legs? If I had to guess, this might actually be the year they let it die.

But whatever the case, I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts.

Also, friendly reminder that Season 10 ends this week, so you have until Monday to get your TDM score up to Diamond to get that super strong katana (if you don't already have it).
