Videogaems you enjoy a lot but know they could have been better if they changed some aspects of the game.

I liked NuDoom, But indeed is fucking repetitive and the OST is shit. But i know if they get a hard rock/ heavy metal soundtrack, make it less repetitive, and delete it the fucking glory kills it would be a great game. But we're talking about Bethesda and even though Eternal seems like an improvement in some ways it takes too many steps back.

The Slayer's Testaments conversion might be right up your alley. It turns Quake into DooM 2016, but faster. You need Quakespasm (Quake source port) and the ID1 directory from any regular Quake version, be it the original CD, GLQuake, or the GOG or Steam versions.

A new update is coming soon, adding many more levels, but as it is, you can play through the currently available sections, or even the Quake campaign in its entirety. You can swap the music to whatever you like.

BOTW is a tech demo. 120 fucking shrines of repetitive shit.

All they had to do was take the good puzzles from those shrines, string them together in some semi-coherent way, and make a handful more dungeons out of them.

And add a proper underworld that's constant danger to contrast the happy, easy, and free overworld..

And either remove weapon durability or add a crafting/repair system.

>>16867121

I wouldn't even mind the glory kills if they were implemented better. Just have the demon obviously mortally wounded, bits missing and everything, and let the player hit the melee button to deliver the boot that finishes the job. No need to take control from the player for a canned animation.

If they're going to rip off Brutal Doom they could at least do it right.

Monster Hunter now has more than enough monster fights to not require padding the game by making the player re-grind over two difficulty levels to get to the “real” endgame. I hope for a MonHun game with one difficulty level, but has all the monsters instead. I don’t think I could handle another MonHun game where Low and High Rank are really just a 40+ hour long tutorial for G Rank.

I didn't mind it almost at all, but it could certainly have been handled better

What actually annoyed me was how the game gets too easy too quickly, if you do the sidequests and explore a little the main ques will be a breeze, next time i play i'll do it with that mod that allows you to control your level among other things. Still a masterpiece for me.

In Ocarina of Time, The Ice Arrows, the Golden Gauntlets, the Gold Scale are just superfluous.

The Golden Gauntlets are used twice, and the only reason they are used to lift those giant Stone pillars, is to make them seem like they have a reason to fucking exist, since those pillars could have been replaced by literally anything, or removed and practically nothing changes.

The Gold Scale is used exactly once, to get one heart piece. At the very least I don't mind the scale as much since it's more of a badge of honor considering how fun fishing for that giant fish can be, and at least the animation for the Golden Gauntlets is so god damn cool that it makes them worth it. but the point stands that the Gold Scale is pointless since you get the Iron Boots, and the Gold Gauntlets a contextually identical to how the silver gauntlets are used, except the silver gauntlets don't work on the pillars.

But what really gets to me is the Ice Arrows. They are completely fucking pointless! You use the Ice Arrows For NOTHING! there isn't even a single Heart Piece or Gold Skulltula you need the Ice Arrows for. and by the time you get them, your at the end of the fucking game, and you get the Light arrows immediately if you haven't already gotten them, and the Light Arrows are just a More powerful weapon then the Ice Arrows.

I wanted the Ice Arrows to be useful. I Wanted so fucking bad for the Ice Arrows to be useful I sent myself on a mission, I went into the Fire temple. I got the hammer, I left, I went to the water Temple, I beat Dark Link, I got the long shot, I left… I did everything that was necessary to unorthodoxly acquire the Ice Arrows without actually beating the Fire temple. Because I just want to see…I went back to the fucking Fire temple, and I went into Volvagia's boss chamber, Just in hopes of the Fucking Dream that the ICE Arrows would have some kind of Special effect on the FIRE boss.

They didn't do fucking anything…

<Dragon's Dogma

I don't like that you can heal while the game is paused. Kind of takes the suspense out of combat if you know you can just pause and eat 9 bajillion pieces of grass anytime you're in danger. I know that's a common thing to be able to do in WRPGs which Dragon's Dogma took inspiration from, but that doesn't make it okay.

>But what really gets to me is the Ice Arrows. They are completely fucking pointless!

You can freeze one of Bongo Bongo's hands with an ice arrow, and he'll try to shatter the ice away with his other hand which is kind of amusing. That boss dies so quickly though that it doesn't really help at all though.

>and the Light Arrows are just a More powerful weapon then the Ice Arrows.

Actually, light arrows don't do any more damage than the regular arrows. But when an ice arrow freezes an enemy it does an extra arrow's worth of damage, so they do twice the damage of a light arrow at least for the first hit, I can't remember if it affects subsequent hits too though.

Reminds me of this neat trick in Wind Waker: If you can manage to bring the forest water to the plant boss in time, you can instantly kill it by just pouring it onto the boss. Would've been cool to see something like that with the ice arrows, but I guess they really don't expect you to leave the fire temple partway.

Videogame composers usually aren't metal guys and their idea of what it sounds like is some sterile boring pantera/lamb of god style shit. I'm happy for most of them to avoid electric guitars entirely. It's not their thing.

I think an ideal doom soundtrack is lowkey, tense, uncomfortable, ambient, anyway, even during battle. Loudest sound should be the shotgun.

>MGSV

It was unfinished and practically came out as a beautiful yet retarded abomination of a game. It was still fun to play but still felt more and more empty the more you play and you begin to realize the magnitude of what was lost and what it could have been.

>KH2

The story actually made me cringe at several points.

Coming from an autist like me thats a very impressive thing to get out of me.

>DD:DA

The fact that you can miss out on side quests with no way to go back to a previous save to try them out again unless if you completely go ahead and back up your game to a previous point.

I fucked up a quest and it pissed me off so much that I ragequit the game even though I was 40+ hours in it.

>GR2

You can only play as Kat and Raven and none of the other gravity defying girls.

>SSBU

I only "like" it because the smash mode is fun but other than that the game is boring due to not having some of my previous favorite mode from previous games like smash run and subspace emissary.

I enjoyed SSB4 and Brawl much more than SSBU for that exact reason.

>MHW

Gameplay is the "best" in the series, quotes on best because the game can easily be cheesed and you will know later

It was riddled with flaws since the beginning but the ones that bother me the most are certain departures of series norms and traditions such as

>M-rank dropping you into random places all the time is no longer there instead you often get plopped directly in the area the monster is even though HR would rarely drop you into random places

>You can access the item box as much as you want without restraint during quests

>Certain elder dragons can only be hunted in certain times of the month as limited events

>Mounting is pants of head retarded/broken and can be used to easily cheese the shit out of a hunt with a group of others

>Certain monsters can land lucky attacks inside the base camp which can cart you and have you fail the quest (never happened to me though)

>Fucking elder dragons out of all creatures are affected NOT by normal traps of course but can still be trapped environmental traps and feyline assistance

>Around half of new and returning weapons have halfassed unfinished models and that was never fixed, addressed or even acknowledged by capcom.

>>16867404

Payday 2 is definitely my favorite hiest game of all time, but they put a ton of content (including a few of the really big hiest missions) under dlc which really pissed me off. I was also slightly dissappointed that it is a sandbox game and not an open world game. The game (if it was an open world game) could be dynamic as fuck. After you rob a place, the getaway could be a more realistic experiance as far as robberies go, such as: finding out exactly what routes the cops take, driving in a realistic fashion and obeying traffic laws, and most importantly getting out of city limits.

Except it really wouldn't be a blend of gta V and payday 3. The only "gta V" aspect of the game would be that it would be open world. Gta V is a half assed attempt by rockstar to make a game about being a thief. Take the jewelry hiest for example, the jewelry hiest was complete and utter retardation. Not only did they not actually case the place, they also used the same exact vehicle to get out of dodge with: a conspicous SWAT van. A van of which, "evaded" the police after a window had happened that parked it a block away from where the elluded them. The police would have known that they couldnt have gotten far away over such a vehicle and no one (including civilians) had seen after that huge shootout. The proper thing to do is have another vehicle on standby, torch the vehicle you are in, and get far, far away from the crime scene as possible. Also, Chester literally has no fucking purpose either lol, he'd just be a purposeless lose end. He didnt hack into computer bases, he wasnt a gunman, and anyone (including the nigger), could have come up with such boneheaded plans. Bain from Payday 2 however, constantly gets his hands dirty and hacks databases, hires cleaner crews (for the civilians you killed), and even helps you fence merchandise. Chester is basically hotwheels.

There’s a difference between putting a cap on your ambitions before you become overambitious and just limiting yourself for fear of trying. What you describe is the latter. You need to have ambition and push the limits if you want to make a game that’s different. When you act like a faggot like that, you become akin to the FIFA and CoD devs. Of course if the devs are lazy or disingenuous then it will always fail but not all devs are like that (Paydays devs are, sadly).

Aspire to make something huge and different, but stay true to yourself and gauge your own progress, lest your scope become too wide or your progress too stagnant

>Over the Nexus

Far too many packs are locked behind post-game sidequests. While having a lot of post-game content is good, the packs locked this way include most archetype support, including the stuff for sub-par archetypes and/or ones you've fought during the game itself. Problem is that this is the same time you can unlock stuff like nigh infinite loop+negate everything capable Six Samurai decks trivially (the important cards are unlocked by playing some post-game only rematches a couple times). The exclusive cards in the matching minigame are cancer if you're not on an emulator and kinda tedious even then.

>Portrait of Ruin

The portraits make the game relatively linear. Charlotte needs a few tweaks to stop her from being just a support only side kick. The randomizer actually has options to fix Charlotte (there's an option to let her level up her skills, and she can get better weapons assigned to her through enabling random weapon properties) and it changes the gameplay a lot. Also the anime art used here and DoS is inferior to the art in the rest of the post SotN series

>Record of Agarest War: Mariage

There's no purification for Celia, and the option to marry all your companions at once isn't doable in the true ending for some reason. Getting some of the upgrade items is a bit obtuse.

>Mount and Blade

The game had no clear end-goal in mind for a lot of its development, so a lot of stuff from early versions stands next to more modern stuff and looks out of place. This includes stuff like different armors having completely different graphical fidelity compared to each other because they were added at different points in development (compare the stuff added in Warband to some of the player only armor options) and some NPCs that have been in the game forever never being properly modernized (like the guy that sits in one town and teaches about selling slaves was, at one point, the only such guy in the game).

Much more seriously, the game is a lot blander and less functional once you've established a kingdom. Seiges are a mess, managing lords is a mess, ect, and mods can only help it a bit. Hopefully Bannerlord fixes this as promised. Also there's no way to disable tutorials I know of and the ctrl+space to speed up the world map thing isn't conveyed to the player in-game.

>Knights of the Old Republic II

Aside from all the stuff about it being unfinished (if LucasArts really wanted them to make the holiday release, they should have let Obsidian make an expansion pack included version afterwards that finished the game and added new stuff. Morrowind showed it was doable even with console releases in mind.), there was no reason to not let you play as a non-human. While the twist in the first game may have required it, no such thing in the second does. Likewise, you're only addressed as a human a handful of times in the game

>Dark Messiah

Some of the options are blatantly better than others. Some secrets are obtuse as hell with insufficent reward for how hard it is to find them. Rope arrows have no way to remove them so placing two too close to eachother creates issues. You can't get a threesome with the two love interests no matter what. You can't play Lady Kicks a Lot Death Boot and have a threesome. There's no NG+ (There's a mod that does it, and it's really great)

>Saints Row 2

PC port sucks. Limited body customization (no height, minimal build options).

>Dawn of War Gold

Wish I could zoom out all the way. I don't need to be able to command units from that far out, just be able to click and zoom back in quickly. I'd just use the minimap but the icons can be misleading and my cursor keeps moving the screen when I move it back.

Lots of nitpicks ultimately, enemy design is a little samey, colours are too washed out, too many screens on game overs/Nico etc. Dante's theme is bad.

>Bayo 2

About to finish it and I have enjoyed it so far but something feels off. Like the game lacks weight or something, missions will just end arbitrarily, combat feels a bit too floaty. I'm not too sure if that is the reason but I think I got it.

>New Vegas

Sadly rushed so a portion of the map is whatever and it is missing vital content for the Legion.

FE: Three Houses (or pretty much every somewhat modern FE game):

>On hardest difficulty game is actually balanced such that even with nearly optimally leveled teams you still need to use strong strategy to advance while keeping units safe

>It basically entails that every turn will end with tanks on front lines and archers/mages in the rear, it's impossible to create formations that can't be flanked from at least one direction

>Huge wave of reinforcements shows up

>It acts the same turn

>It's all falcon knights that can move nearly half the length of the map

>Any archer or mage or even regularly powered cavalry unit in range (basically that half of the map) is dead since the enemy units with the highest mobility in the game also have some of the highest strength and speed for some reason

>Have to rewind at least 2+ turns in order to take a stalling formation in anticipation of the "surprise" reinforcements that makes no sense in addressing the enemies that are actually on the map

Could have been fixed so easily by either not making falcon knights so fucking OP or just giving us a fucking turn before reinforcements move so that we could change formation to address them. Throwing a non-sequitor at us that we have no ability to foresee or respond to is both anti-"strategy" and anti-fun.

It also just makes no sense. At the end of Crimson flower, we're attacking a city that WE have surrounded with a larger army, and yet despite that, their army is 4x larger to begin with, and then we're arbitrarily encircled by 9+ falcon knights from outside the walls halfway through, complete bullshit that is impossible to plan for unless you already know it's going to happen.

Personally a nice change would be if they had food/heal items act as a slow restorative instead of a quick easy fix, similar to a Mage's Heal, with a silver portion to indicate what your health will be if you let a bit of time pass, more powerful items would either enlarge that bar or just restore quicker alongside offering small boosts to your abilities, with the risk being that if you get hit during this period, your hard/green health would take damage in place alongside silver/potential health.

< Majora's Mask

All the bosses excluding Gyorg and that desert fuck are a complete pushover. Fierce Deity Mask should make the final boss possible, not make it laughably easy. I would love to see a romhack that fixes the difficulty of the bosses, but I know it'll probably never happen.

< Nier

Story tries to get too dramatic too fast and comes off as melodramatic early on in the plot. Replaying the second half of the game a whole bunch of times to see +1minute of the ending each time wasn't really that thrilling.

< Nier Automata

Lots of shit. Too tired to spell out everything again. If you've played it and aren't a retarded faggot you undoubtedly already know most of it.

Speaking of Nudoom, Eternal is making it's way as a guilty pleasure for me the more I play it. If only they

>replace staggering with fatal wounds, basically they die if the timer runs out but you can punch them for a gib and a buff.

>removed the canned animation and healing from glory kills, have it be a gibbing punch that kills fatally wounded enemies, have the speed boost from the rune unlocked from the start and have it still charge blood punch

>Blood punch is the way it currently is but it spawns health

This way healing isn't readily available and there's a bit of resource management to it.

>Remove cooldown reduction upgrades from flamethrower, and remove the flaming hook upgrade and replace it with an actual decent grappling hook move

Ditto as before, but for armor

>Significantly up the ammo cap, remove chainsaw and increase the ammo pickups and have regular enemies drop certain ammo types

Fuck the chainsaw and fuck the shit tier zombies that only exist so you can chainsaw them for ammo. They shackle the game from reaching its highest potential with fights because a good chunk of enemies has to be fodder class for ammo spawning.

>keep the falter and weakpoint system, remove staggers and any other instantkills

Instantkills suck.

>remove the sticky floor hazard, up the damage on other hazards

The way it currently is, sticky flkoors slow the game down to a crawl while other hazards are too tankable

>remove marauder

They made a worse enemy than the pain elemental by virtue of it being only damageable during their melee attack. Fighting them is so fucking slow.

>replace timed encounters with tricky fights that require both platforming and combat

Timed encounters are too easy, especially when there's little resource management involved in the game. Meanwhile simultaneous combat and platforming is too rare.

>Give enemies some sort of anti-air attack

Jumping and strafing from side to side is too powerful for many enemies.

>Fuck the battlepass and limited customization, let me go wild with custom textures and decals

But then they wouldn't be selling DLC so fuck me I guess

>too many super weapons

BFG and the crucible and the unmakyr(which isn't the Doom64 one, shame), it's too much power. It's like Final Doomer giving BFG a kill-based ammo which makes it near consequence free in its use and then buffing it to retarded levels in the plutonia and TNT classes.

I don't know. Playing Eternal makes me want a similar, better designed game with the same gameplay style. I like more what it's trying to be than what it's actually like.

You can tell the developers started getting pressed for time halfway through development or so. They start recycling music for levels and the levels start getting shorter the farther you get through the game, when they should get longer. A lot of the later levels are really forgettable and uninteresting too. A lot of people don't like the bullshit optional puzzles too TROUBLE WITH THE TROLLEY, EH? and while I don't mind them so much I can't blame people for getting frustrated with them. The trolley minigame, the one with the dumbass alchemist who runs into enemies, and the one where you protect the cavemen from getting eaten are particularly infuriating. Super Moves make the game way, way, way too easy. The strategy for almost every random encounter is spamming the AoE Lambda Burst. The strategy for almost every boss fight is Turtle > Build Spirit Points > Use strongest single target Super Move > Repeat. Just not using Super Moves is an option, yes, but then boss fights take too long. Debuff magic being practically useless against every boss due to super-high status resistances doesn't help with avoiding Super Moves in boss fights either.

Most of the shinobi tools (including upgrades) and almost all of the martial arts skills are completely useless. It would have been better if they had used Bloodborne's design where any weapon that fired a "projectile" cost QSB but otherwise you could use your special effects for free. That still wouldn't have fixed underpowered tools and skills though.

Only having 3 ninjutsu skills in the game is a bit disappointing too. Although a bigger disappointment is poor distribution of geckos throughout the game since they can be used to buff your sword with poison or lifesteal when you use bestowal on them instead of a blood blade.

Also only having 5 possible lapis per game cycle is a huge pain in the ass.
