There was a window to hack 3.69 and 3.70, an extremely generous one at that. Right now though all you can do right now is hope video related is true and update. Set up and activate a PSN account while you're at it just in case.

Short reviews for what I've played on the Vita so far:
>Axiom Verge
Didn't finish this one yet. From what I've seen it's good though. Lots of enemy, weapon and tool (you can go through walls!) variety. Combat (especially bosses) is a good mix of strategy and dexterity. Difficulty is just right to keep you on your toes but not too annoying. Rewards exploration really well. Also has that NES Prince of Persia vibe which really hits the spot in me. I have some issues with it though - it's not "sandboxy" enough IMO - you've got to use your tools in specific places, mostly (to access areas you couldn't enter before). This takes a lot of backtracking, which isn't a problem but I'd like a little more freedom. Many blocks which look passable actually aren't, so you can't use the "go through walls" ability in certain places that you should by the look of blocks (same with the drill). I'm now at the point in the game where I can't go back to other areas (fuck it, I should have went back to the beginning areas to pick up some powerups that I couldn't before). The area arbitrarily disabled my drone and I hate it. Overall so far 7.5 / 10.
>Secret of Mana remake
Don't bother unless you REALLY liked the original. Sure it improves graphics, gives more freedom of movement and has shiny voice acting (not very high quality though), but it doesn't fix most of the issues of the original when it easily could have. 3 / 10 for effort on graphics and voices I guess.
>Virtua Tennis 4
Great fucking game. Has an exhibition mode but the World Tour is it's meat - there you get to develop your own player and go on a journey to become the best. The game has two parts - overworld and the actual tennis. The overworld is just a board game where you choose a number from the tickets you have and you move that amount of spots (like 3 or 2). You can land on stat increasing minigames (which are fun on their own), shops, accidents, meetings with fans, training matches or actual tournaments (where you can play against real players like Rafael Nadal or Andy Murray). The board game itself has a lot of depth. Then the actual tennis has lots of playstyles to choose from - you can lob, dropshot, hit a big or slow serve, charge the net, etc. and some strats work against certain opponents better. Lots to say about this one. Outfit and racket changes are possible and there are fun unlocks. All in all I really like it. 9 / 10.
>Spelunky
Just started playing, great fucking game design so far it seems. You're under pressure at all times. Heavy emphasis on decision making. Lives, money, time, tools are all limited resources. Randomized levels prevent memorization. Nice enemy variety already. 9 / 10 so far, only have some nitpicks.
>Hitman GO: Definitive Edition
Only played cause it's got Hitman in its name, but has not much to do with the other games. Don't wanna say too much. It's not good. No soundtrack, shit graphics, tedious gameplay. They couldn't even bother to give 47 an animation when he kills their target. Puzzles are either trivial or annoying. No freedom at all unlike the actual Hitman games. One word: mobileshit. 4 / 10 just cause it's Hitman (hey, some levels have disguises so there's some similarity, but they aren't used in enough levels), otherwise 2.5 / 10.

No better time to make a giant wall of text review then immediately after a giant wall of text review.
Net High is a VN/adventure game about internet jokes and animu references.
>story
So basically we're in MODERN DAY JAPAN, and that comes with the economic issues/birth rate problems/hikkikomoris that are currently plauging Japan. So the government has an idea: "Let's give everyone a fulfilling life!" To enact this, they give everyone smartphones and an account to a government sponsored Not!Twitter service, and tell everyone to get as many followers as possible. The more followers you have, the more government benefits you get. Conversely, if you have less followers, you can actually get barred from using public services (Think "social credit system" here). This splits the world up into two groups: "Riajuu", normalfags, and "Hiria", otaku faggots. You play as Ore-shi (俺氏), roughly translated as "Mr. Me" because he doesn't seem to want to give his name. Ore-shi only has 4 followers (Your boss has around 100), basically making him at totral loser. Ore-shi basically falls in love with "anno ko" (that girl) but doesn't talk to her because he's a total pussy/their follower difference is too big.
So then the plot starts: A bitch called "Master of Ceremonies" (MC-chan if you're feeling cute) announces that there's a way to 'steal' followers from other people: Enjoy battles. A play on words of "Enjou" (炎上) which I'll roughly translate as "flame war" given the context. If you refuse to participate, your opponent can steal all of your followers from you.
Boom. All of the sudden, the girl that Ore-shi wanted to talk to loses every single one of her followers and becomes a "zombie account", basically she has no more human rights. So thus begins a tale of revenge against Riajuu scum who fucked with the girl he was gonna talk to, right? No, actually, because he's a total pussy who even bitched out when the mailman came to the door. But interestingly enough, the mailman had a package for him: A pair of orange glasses which have two essential features:
1. A fucking adorable AI companion named Shiru whom I've already waifued so too late faggot.
2. The "Passive Active System", which turns betas into chads with the flip of a switch.
Shiru states that her job is to turn you into a Riajuu with the help of the glasses. Although, in your haste you seem to have accidentally gotten wrapped up in an Enjoy battle, and the plot goes from there.
If you think that's a lot of notes for having to explain basic things then you might be getting the idea why it was never translated.
>gameplay
The gameplay is sort of a halfway mix between Gyakuten Saiban and Danganronpa. You can focus on one singular opponent rather than a whole group but the gameplay is also a bit more active rather than simply presenting evidence at given moments.
There's a few different gimmicks. One of them is basically just cross-examinations. Another is one where you have to make an argument to the populace watching you and try to convince them to vote for you. Another is simple evidence presentation, and another is trying to swipe miscellaneous information off the screen to find a secret that someone is trying to hide. In all of these, you can use various "cheat skills" to gain an upper hand.
The big goal you're trying to accomplish is to prove that the one you're fighting is really an anime watching faggot instead of the super cool internet personality they've set themselves out to be. To do this, you explode them. No really, you figuratively blow up certain parts of their body to reveal that they're not what they say they are. For example, a super rich guy who has an expensive scarf might have that scarf revealed to just be a towel used to wipe up sweat, which then later reveals that he's a minimum wage worker instead of an elite rich guy.
There's two other parts to the game as well "Riajuu experiences" and the investigation parts before the enjoy battles. The investigation parts are self explanatory and while there's a few minigames to enjoy none of them are worth talking about at length.
Riajuu experiences are basically you going out and hitting up chicks. The more chicks you hit up, the more cheat skills you unlock (as Shiru's reward for you going out and being a normalfag). You can gradually get more connected to the girls in the game overtime, which is represented by the physical distance you are from them. By breaking "walls", you can get closer and more personal with them, all culminating in PATTING THEIR FUCKING HEADS TO SEAL THE DEAL. This takes a while, I've only been able to pat Shiru's head so far since she's the tutorial girl.
>music
it's good my nigger
if anyone can get a high quality rip of the soundtrack I'd be grateful.

Why the fuck would anybody even update to 3.71? It's a dead system. There are no new models from the factory being shipped with it, and there are no new games being released that require it. The only thing I can think of is online multiplayer, and by this point, the only people who are still playing the Vita are people who actively pirate for it. They don't even offer PS+ "Game of the Month Club" offerings anymore, so it's not like you have to access PSN for that either.

So the previous 3.69/3.70 exploits only worked as long as those versions were current-patch? I guess Sony pushing an update to 3.71 actually makes a little more sense now. None of it affects me of course, but I was under the assumption that 3.71 would affect literally no one, since anyone who wasn't on 3.71 to start with would still be able to crack.

A few games get discussion in separate threads such as EDF and Neptunia. That aside with the new games drying up even if games are being played it doesn't mean there's anything worth mentioning about them. Also while it makes up a fair amount of the chatter, I believe that having jailbreaking be a norm is a good thing, it implies a userbase that cares about getting the best experience and has at least some idea of how to do computer. Contrast that with 4chan where inane comments, QUALITY watermarked screenshots and Doerr Nep translations are the norm.

Trillion-wise I've mostly been doing badly is the short version. Twice I've only managed chip damage to the final boss. Annoyingly the mock-Trillion doesn't mirror any sealed parts or the annoying ranged attackers the real one uses that are even more irritating than the melee ones. I was finding the mock-Trillions possible but annoying to defeat, until the most recent one. Mechanic spoilers. I realized that multi-square attacks will have a shotgun effect on Trillion depending how many squares are hit. So lv.2 Cannon Spike (300% to square in front) was slightly less powerful than lv.2 Lai (70% damage to the row of 5 squares in front = 350%). Unfortunately while he died in maybe 7 or 8 hits that also expended most of the AP bar so I'll have to think about this a bit more, but this is why I didn't want to read anything about the game in advance. Much like with the Neptunia games part of the fun is figuring things out. I just hope it has some degree of balance since Neptunia often falls to path of least resistance with its mechanics, rather than being truly varied.
Decided also to give storagemgr another go since I'm having issues where saves and ability to vanish if it's left in sleep for too long, like the issue with LOLIcon and Adrenaline.

The more time you have against Trillion, the higher the chance things will just start "clicking" for you, plus you might need more time with the overlords period to see more of their development, dialogue, character and just training and affection points too of course
In terms of strategy I won't comment too much. Its quite gratifying to figure shit out on your own in this game.

I only left Levia to adhere to "no savescumming" and used both retreat options with Mammon. Was initially worried about the small territory but it turns out there's six worlds for him to conquer so I've got plenty of leeway there. I will assume (and hope) Ashmedia and the other two join in because otherwise this playthrough is doomed.
As far as "clicking", well, first two battles were utterly pathetic 2-billion total each. Fourth was doing that much per attack and took off 90-billion while third took 30-billion, so the learning is happening and you're not wrong that it's fun to figure out on your own.
Mechanically, it is somewhat unfortunate but contributing to the bleak feel that what you need to do to prepare for battle involves bonding with your chosen girl.

I wish you decided if only for that particular moment to not adhere to the "savescum" rule but it sounds like you're making solid progress so that's good
You're also quite wise for not reading anything about the game in advance. I did the same for the most part, except I decided to check out the gift guide on Gamefaqs at some point (which is grossly incomplete apparently) and got a minor (but annoying to find out in advance) spoiler. Even the promotional material used and shit gives minor, generalized spoilers and its annoying to realize, thankfully I finished the game before I ever looked at any of them
The game is definitely tragic but its a beautiful game, just steel yourself anon. and continue having fun, there's still plenty of surprises in store for you

I'm convinced that this game is ruined if you aren't entering it as blind as possible and that while you should be able to at least succeed first try (this is making an assumption for now but I'm pretty sure it's correct) it won't be without a lot of pain and suffering. Two down, last candidate (for now, that is the assumption I'm making) is lolly loli, and it's quite painful starting from mostly square one but knowing the game better means I'm bringing her up to speed faster. One mechanic I don't like is the way abilities can upgrade. Some upgrades make them hit more squares but often in a pattern that doesn't result in enough extra hits to the boss to justify the bloated MP cost. On top of that, events can upgrade them without your say-so.

they're pre-decrypted binaries for running the game, since if you use reF00D for a game for newer firmware, it's decrypted by the CPU instead of with the native cryptography hardware, and takes CPU away from the game

Gravity Rush 2 is only available on a system nobody (hopefully) owns. Considering that Gravity Rush 1 is NOT a complete story on its own, I definitely don't recommend it on story merits.
As far as gameplay, I found it extraordinarily frustrating to try and control on Vita. The gyro is no substitute for proper physical controls. Either it was slow or inaccurate or both, I don't really know it just doesn't work. Fortunately, the story content is so easy that you could operate the controls solely with your dick and probably still finish the game. The difficult content comes in the form of time trial minigames

>Muv-Luv
The introduction to the incredible Muv-Luv Trilogy. This game contains the first and second parts of the trilogy. Muv-Luv Extra, the first part, is a fun, slice of life rom/com where you play as Shirogane Takeru, a high school student in his final year of school. You meet his childhood friend, classmates, and an interesting girl who moves in with him. Upon completing certain romance routes, you unlock the second part in the trilogy - Muv-Luv Unlimited. In Unlimited, Takeru awakens in a war-torn mecha world and must uncover the truths behind this strange new world. The finale is Muv-Luv Alternative, a separate visual novel.
>Muv-Luv Alternative
An unforgettable conclusion to the Muv-Luv Trilogy. Its a whopping 50+ hour sci-fi, mecha coming-of-age visual novel detailing the hero's hellish journeys to save his world and loved ones. The game features a very well-written cast of characters with a movie quality soundtrack. The story goes over a large number of themes ranging from psychological trauma to patriotism to the value of life and so on. It is highly advised to complete Muv-Luv before playing Muv-Luv Alternative.

Some help would be appreciated.
I experience this thing where VitaShell, though maybe it is not its fault, doesn't properly count the SD2Vita as mounted. Technically everything works fine, games run, but it can't refresh the Live Area like this. In VitaShell when I press triangle at the bottom I see the option the mount ux0, which obviously means something is not working as intended. Trying to mount it really does nothing, though. And it is not like it is really unmounted, as games on it work fine.
The only sort of "fix" is to restart the Vita and immediately go into VitaShell. Then the ux0 is considered mounted and I can do the Live Area refresh, but in a minute it is already not going to work again.
I have tried reinstalling plugins and even changed the SD2Vita adapter, as I a have spare. Tried even formatting the SD card and copy-pasting a copy of it. Nothing helped.

I know these screenshots suck but I'm done with House in Fata Morgana. Like I said in the vch thread, the story is great. It's basically cut into 3 parts you would read in order or you can unlock everything by answering a few questions. The first part is the main story, the 2nd part is an expansion of the "villain's" tragic backstory which was briefly touched on in part 1, the final part is more like a post-credits scene to reward the player with a happy ending. They even switched the art style to full anime and add voice acting which is weird since the characters are in Paris and they're speaking Japanese. After the main story, there are side stories which I won't finish but some of them are good. One tale details the events that occur after a Bad End. The bonus content is nice enough to include translations for latin lyrics and the art gallery is neat.
I tried some VNs by the Sometimes You devs. They suck. I couldn't find the save button for A Winter's Daydream so I had to complete it in one go, thankfully it's short. Pantsu Hunter is a UI, controller nightmare. The 90's aesthetic was not enough to keep me from dropping that buggy mess. It's that bad.
I got DLC from Freeshop (PKGj) and applied the english patch to IA/VT Colorful. It's easier than Project Diva F2, and more fun, because there's no retarded touch screen gimmick. That Miku game is unforgiving. In unrelated news, I installed World Duel Carnival on my 3DS to scratch that YGO itch. Next game I'll try to finish next is Spirit Hunter: NG.

ideally install none of the dlc, the to heart 2 dlc just jacks up your available party members to like 15 at the start of the game, making it easier, not to mention the boost dlcs

Some areas get a bit grindy after the first few dungeons, so feel free to use the EXP boost if you are not in the mood to grind.

Developers that want to cater to instant gratification. There are customers out there that want their stuff the moment they bring out the wallet.

On 2nd thought might play this after Moe Chronicle, I heard it's one of the easier DRPGs on the Vita and it's been a while since I've play one of these games. That said, what difficulty is best? I don't wanna play Expert if it just increases the grind significantly.

Not sure if this is the best place to post it or if this is the best thread to post it but the English patched version of phantasy star portable 2 infinity now has an updated road map to expect completion in the last third of this year meaning that it would be finished in October 2020 this year. It's at the bottom of the page if you want to see the statement from one of the project members.

On the topic of PS2, there were a anon who posted custom(?) eboots for some PSX games to run on vita. Is he still there, or at least did anybody bother to save the mega links? I've downloaded one, but I didn't really play with it other than checking it actually boots. Maybe after I finish Mary Skelter, I'll check it which I don't know when will happen, because I only play a few hours a month
Also congratulations Mark on banning the whole tor network, you useless piece of shit.

Do anybody know a method to connect to a bluetooth audio device from the vita without using the settings app (unfortunately with some games, like Mary Skelter, opening the settings force closes the game, which is very annoying)? In the menu that opens when I long press the ps button, I can only turn the bt on or off, but not connect to anything.
On the other side I have a bt headset that can only automatically connect to the last device it was used with, so initiating a connection from there is not possible.

Maybe if you have a lot of physical games and you're on 2000 where psvsd is not really an option. Otherwise just grab a ps2vita and a 256GB microsd. Official cards are small (64GB is the largest I think), slower than non garbage-tier sd cards, and you can consider yourself lucky if it lasts more than a year.
Also, crimson stop banning the whole tor network you useless piece of crap

Recently my Sony account got hacked so I had to change my password. I forgot that when I hacked my vita I just used my regular PSN account, but of course, now it’s signed out. There’s now reason to ever log into your PSN account once your vita is hacked though right?

Muv-Luv was a very good VN, but the uncensored version is on PC. Personally, playing on the vita is more fun so I didn't mind it but the story is exceptional. Muv-Luv Alternative has less gameplay/branches but is still an incredible story.
Steins;Gate is a VN with a high production quality, endearing art style and characters, and compelling story. Has a lot of different endings and is exceptional, I got all the endings and was on the edge of my seat almost the entire time.
Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc was a unique and probably the most fun VN ive played. Thrilling and had a couple of characters who I loved and evoked unexpected emotions out of me. Danganronpa 2's story was also pretty good but the gameplay aspect was very boring imo and took a lot out of the game unfortunately. Danganronpa 3 the story was not as good though it did have some redeeming moments. The gameplay was also boring, and overall the themes made no sense. The ending is a complete disaster as well so tread cautiously. Some people like it but personally Danganronpa 3 was by far the weakest and not even that good.

lemme guess, they censored the sexual stuff while leaving in a certain horrifying gory scene.
Might finally give Steins;Gate and Danganronpa a go though. Does the second game retroactively fuck up the first game by ruining characters?
also, were the Utawarerumono games good and do I need to read any previous works to understand them? That's another series I've been meaning to get into forever but this manga kick I've been on has finally got me reading these VN's. Never realized how great nip storytelling was.

If you want to play dgrp you shouldn't even be talking about it here as it is easily spoiled and someone will undoubtedly post spoilers in this thread after this post.
No characters are ruined. Each game has its own cast. It's barely a game, but I will say it is an entertaining VN that keeps tension going as to what exactly is going on in the outside world. It keeps that theme going all 3 games not counting the spinoff which had actual gameplay (and a neat plot).

the one pigtail chick is a/or the murderer
and she dies by getting squished
Did I already have the fun part of the story ruined?

You're correct, but most of the sexual stuff is still there but theres steam and some CG's are not included just because you can't steam certain encounters if you know what I'm saying. Its not bad, personally playing on the Vita was worth the low censorship I just played on PC after I beat the game.
>Does the second game retroactively fuck up the first game by ruining characters?
No, the third undermines everything but the second does not. My brother and I completed Steins;Gate in roughly a weekend if you go ham, its only roughly 25hours.
