During his speech, he made several important points when it comes to the issues with domestic and foreign journalism in regards to their effect on the politics in Singapore. One of the points he made, which is relevant to this topic, is that he had absolutely ZERO problems with anything and everything that the foreign journalists had to say about the politics of the country. The reason why is because Singapore, and it's citizens were not the "target audience" of these publications (Entirely because all of the foreign publications were published in English). However, what he DID take issue with was when foreign publications started opening "domestic establishments" and began translating their "English viewed" journalism into Mandarin, which then made the foreign publications directly involved with the politics of Singapore and extended their audience reach to that of the Singapore citizens. There was also more to it, such as the foreign publications printing blatant lies and the "censorship" just meaning that they had to remove ads from the paper is they still wanted to publish the story unaltered, but that's the short of it. How this relates back is that it does bring up a very important question to this entire event, which is:
Is all this media bring translated into Chinese?
If it isn't, that just means all this news and press is just reaching the government, and the "more educated" citizens, which means these protests have absolutely NOTHING to do with foreign opinion and there is a real problem that this supposedly "harmless" bill does impose. However, if all this press is being translated into Chinese, then us foreigners are playing a direct part in effecting how politics develop between China and Hong Kong.

I think I prefer the original "love" line, because "love" can already be ambiguous enough, but it doesn't put me out much.

The thing is that there's an over saturation of people who want to make video games. Which is why conditions are so shitty. There's a massive supply of workers and there's not that much demand. And yes, if they unionize, there will be hordes of people who want to make video games for less pay.
But if the union gets powerful enough, which it will because that's what unions do, it will stop all of that pretty quickly. If a gaming union ends up anything like the other unions I'm familiar with, we'll see things like coordinated efforts to get games removed from Steam, GOG, Epicly Pozzed Game Store, etc for not being union. We already see liberals doing similar things by attacking a site, person, or company's ad sources as well as trying to get them fired, etc.
I don't think you will see much retaking, only massive destruction. And all those liberal bloggers will all bend over backwards and be PR mouthpieces for the unions. Unions and the pro-union people will do everything they can to destroy the chances a non-union game has.

The thing is, that's much less of an issue with the video games industry than, say, a service industry. Sanitation for instance. If garbage men strike, it takes less than a day to bring a big city to it's knees, which is why those unions have so much power. Video games are an entertainment industry and a really slow one at that. If everyone in the video games industry quit it would be hard to notice right away and you could probably get the new scabs in place in short enough order to not miss too much of a beat. That's the main difference between a union for something essential and something very, very unessential. It's why the VA strike failed. The VA union has been a thing for years, but circumventing it has also been a thing for years because VAs are, ultimately, superfluous. Sure, you might know some of their names. But they don't sell games the way real actors sell movies. So they will never have that kind of power. The same goes for the other industry people because, as you said, all the companies have to do is hire people to take their place and there are lots waiting in the wings to do so.

I think it was moderately successful, but it went on a long time. Also, Hollywood is a much more insular community than video games, which has a really, really high turnaround. Once you're "in" with the writers guild you are very in. Writer is also a much more glamorous position than a simple code monkey and writers were, on occasion, famous enough that their names actually meant something to a product. Plus, back then, network tv that aired on a schedule was still a thing a lot of normalfags cared about. Many seasons of shows were affected by the strike. These days, I think the strike would be less effective. Regardless, video game code monkies are much easier to replace than (((Hollywood))) writers, unfortunately.

The culture around children has become very odd in the last decade or so. Imagine one day the government decided to be retarded and ban all production and sales of cigarettes and alcohol (wait this already happened), but they are a bunch of useless cunts so there's still drugs fucking everywhere and the drug dealers see the new business opportunities and they start selling tobacco and beer. Now all of the people that previously would easily and legally buy and consume something harmless (relatively in this case) will not stop consuming that because the new law is fucking retarded, so now they are forced to go into the shadiest part of the town, full of criminals of all sort, just to buy god damn beer and tobacco. Now all those law abiding citizens are forced to be exposed constantly to illegal shit, and obviously the drug dealers will try to get them into hard drugs like cocaine.

It was easy for me to avoid them, but I eventually stopped using tumblr and twitter because I was kind of disgusted by all of this, the rest of the lolicons probably did the same so you got some sort of artificial concentration of pedophiles in these places. But what about that 15% of pedophiles that were into lolicon? Now they are all being exposed to all those criminals, and because of it some will end up doing criminal shit too.
Previously you had a big community, relatively safe and free of illegal content, and if someone tried to do something bad the others would try to stop him or report him. All of that was lost and now you had some sort of wild west where most of the good people left but all of the scum was still there.
That's only with social media censorship. But what about government censorship? Well, you would force people to go underground, to shady chats or even the deep web, and pretty much all of the above applies too. You create stupid laws that force people out of safe regulated environments into shady places, and some of them end up doing shady things, what a fucking surprise.
Ok, this was just one of the many reasons why censoring fiction is wrong and only causes damage while doing nothing good. These god damn shit heads proposing censorship give no fucks about children and they only care about virtue signaling as hard as possible.
