There was this blockbuster 2016 remake of a little-known movie called "Ghostbusters". Now the 1980s duology was better than the 2016 remake, but that is beside the point.

Much to the surprise of an extreme minority, the movie flopped.

Everything she ate and drank, her body rejected. She couldn't defecate, her body reeked of old wounds, burn marks, and puss. Her brain suffered so much damage that it actually fucking shrunk inside of her skull. She was probably dazed and delirious as all hell, and yet, she accepted to play the round of Mahjong. The boy was certain he was going to win, insistent on it. If I recall, he even bet on his victory. He was always boasting about himself and his Yakuza connections, even long before he crossed paths with Junko. They sit down, they play their match as the other boys watch.
And you fucking know what happened next? Junko fucking beat him. A near-death, starved, badly injured girl beat him, and he couldn't take it. He beat the shit out of her after she won and lit her on fire with lighter fluid. She lied on the floor, convulsing, the boys knowing she was definitely going to die any time. They fucked off out of the house to look for a new girl to torture and brutalize.
That was probably the own respite Junko had, just lying there on the floor, alone, slowly slipping into Death's arms. I can only hope she knew that she beat them in a lot more than just a game of Mahjong.
All of this happened in a country that had never seen such a brutal crime before. It can happen anywhere. Shit like this still happens in the unheard, unseen corners of the world. I'm just incredibly furious that I live in a world mostly inhabited by people who swear in their bleeding hearts that they are fighting for all that is right in the world, all while defending absolutely nothing and no one. Maybe that's why this makes me so fucking angry. There are way more Junko Furuta's out there right now than anyone wants to know. And yet, all of this passion, pain, and anger is wasted on fucking Christine Blasey Ford, and any other idiot still shook up about having their titty touched in high school.
