The project aim was to create a decentralized anonymous mesh net to share stuff, from vidya to anime and all in between. It was going to use I2P and IPFS to achieve that goal.
Long story short, IPFS didn't support I2P at the time and the most active poster was a faggot spammer, so it died down. I don't think IPFS supports I2P yet, but it does support TOR now.
What do you fags think of trying to resurrect the project?

So here's how 08chan works.

2: 08chan by itself is no more anonymous than 8chan is. User folder contents and hashes could be used to trace back to a user just like how 8chan's traffic records can link you back to your IP address. This is what TOR and VPNs are for, exactly like 8chan, and why the infograph recommends using TOR to access the site. OPSEC is your responsibility.
3: 08chan was created using ZeroNet because there is no superior alternative now or in the immediate future. The Nullchan framework is the only distributed imageboard software that works. There are other planned software solutions using IPFS technology, but these are not available right now, with many waiting for needed protocol updates just to function, nevermind share files.
4: 08chan is meant to be censorship-proof. Not even the creator of a board can delete content from it as long as other users are seeding that content, so it accomplishes this goal. There has to be a tradeoff between total anonymity, the ability to actually post dynamic content, and the ability to self moderate.

You know the funny thing is that back when HotWheels was running 8chan one thing he had mentioned was that if he could figure out a way for the site to not need an administrator he would implement it, and if I'm understanding this right you basically figured out a way.
But I do have a major security concern about the way the site operates. Couldn't someone hypothetically embed spyware or malware in images that are posted on the site and potentially compromise everyone that ends up using it? However, from what I've heard, it's not as good until the end, is 30fps for what's presumably not 1080p, and is really fucking easy, even by Kirby standards, unless you're playing with friends, but the update characters look fun to play as. Them being free DLC instead of paid shit also helps, so there's that. I won't lie, I've been on the fence since they announced Marx would be playable, and Gooey having actual Dark Matter moves is very tempting. If they make Adeleine playable I'm going out and getting it as soon as that happens. That being said I think the lives system, while it definitely has its uses, is kind of redundant in a Kirby game where you don't even die half the time, and the demo proved that all too well with how many lives they give you.
