Translation Statuses are:
HDN, HDN Mk2 and Victory: NISA cancer.
Re;Birth 1 and V-II: Translation is alright, no worries from these ones.
Re;Birth 2: Not obviously bad at the start, but gets much worse as it goes along: in particular Neptune and Ram were screwed hard during localization. However, there is a Re;Translation made on our very own board (see above links).
Re;Birth 3: Better than the original NISA translation in Victory but still quite a lot of cancer. Main game has been retranslated, translators still required to translate DLC content.
All of the spin-offs: Varying translation quality. These range from cancer to mediocre. Recent releases have been somewhat better overall.

The Original game on the PS3 is completely different from RB1. The setting is the same, but the writing and plot are almost completely different. The gameplay, however, is absolutely atrocious. As for Mk2 and V, you can just play RB2 and RB3 as they are actual remasters. As far as the games chronology goes, you have the OG game which was a conclusive game, so they retconned it with Mk2, so nothing in the OG game matters. Then there's Victory. Then they released RB1, 2, and 3, but RB1 is still not in the canon chronology. So to answer your question, RB2 and 3 are remasters. RB1 is a completely different game. While I enjoyed the writing of OG, the gameplay is so bad.

I'm not sure what you mean. She is seen playing and being very friendly with the other candidates, and Nepgear is her best friend canonically. Contrast this with Noire, who is closest to Nep-Nep, but their relationship tends to be instigated the most by Neptune. What I think you mean is the less the tsundere part and more the loner aspect of Noire: she's a perfectionist who tries to not rely on others and takes on everything she can by herself. Uni wants to live up to her sister and be like her, but the problem is Uni isn't Noire, so when she tries to emulate Noire like that it doesn't go very well . You see an opposite relationship with Neptune and Nepgear, where the two act completely different in their regular forms I could only imagine what would happen to Histoire if she had two Neptunes to deal with regularly.

Ultimately, having the girls running around at end-game power without altering the difficulty curve is terrible design. Either have a more difficult NG+ to account for the stronger characters, or don't carry everything over (it's fine if it's easier but not if you're one-shotting everything you come across).
Also while I understand dislike of grind, level-ups that don't require careful decision making (Dark Souls or Diablo II to name a couple) are expendable, unlike items you might've required a lot of luck to get. In Neptunia, the level-up system is almost there to give a brute-force option to less strategic players so it hardly matters if it gets reset each loop.

I'm digging VII so far. Much better music and an actually interesting story so far. It's also a lot harder and movement is a bigger deal for your and enemies. Mouth movements are better and the graphics got a decent upgrade overall.
Grind seems a little worse somehow, though. Ya'll think it's ok to use a trainer to increase XP by X2? I've always thought fighting the same enemies 8 times instead of 16 times just to be able to survive the next boss is a forgiveable 'cheat'.

I don't know why there not much about 4GO, personally I really enjoyed it. I put it above rb2 and 3 actually, it being so non serious was kind of nice. The game play was kind of unimpressive but it wasn't bad enough to be boring or annoying. Though it did get repetitive near the end, would have probably gotten tiresome if the game was longer.

It's actually a grind change rather than a difficulty change. You need to grind less to fight the same enemies/bosses with weaken, or more with neutral and fortify. I chose weaken. Who wants more grind than necessary? It also doesn't affect XP or drops or anything.

To elaborate, if you're a close or above the level of your enemy, you can reasonably handle them. If you add fortify, all it does is increase the amount of levels you need to be above the enemy before you get the exact same gameplay experience. So again, it's a grind increase/reduction depending on what you pick. It might as well be an XP boost by proxy.

The base game and DLC is retranslated according to the files provided with the retranslation and since there hasn't been an update to it, I'm assuming it's complete.

So far from rebirth 1-3 the plans are the way the difficulty works. In VII I haven't noticed any difficulty or plans for that but there's probably something related to buffing enemies for some trade off… maybe. No option settings for difficulty, though. The series seems pretty oldschool with its basic design so far. Manual save system, no continues or checkpoints, classic grind and levelling system.
