Last night I played Leisure Suit Larry 1 and 6 an they're actually pretty cool games. Well not the first one because it has that bullshit where you need to spend a lot of time playing shitty casino/gambling games in order to get the money you need to go anywhere. But 6 was super cool with only 2 dumb puzzles you'd never figure out without a guide. But both of them are very funny games with witty writing and a lot of visual humor despite the kind of shitty graphics in a lot of areas.
And a lot of adult games being made these days are either made by or made for the ultra sensitive types so it is a little refreshing to have a game where guys call you a fag for hitting on them, you can make fun of overly homosexual people, Dykes try and steal your girl, and you end up getting fucked in the butt by a trap with a 14 inch dick.
Now I was kind of interested in this Al Lowe guy and visited his website where I found a dedicated page about this one trick he used to make a game in the 80's when computers had fuck all for disc space and memory. I think that kind of stuff is super interesting. It's really too bad that the big deal games bloggers don't care anything about how games are made and won't write articles about these neat tips and tricks. Well Kotaku or somebody wrote an article about occlusion culling, but they made it seem like a brand new technology invented for Horizon Zero Dawn. The earlier levels do have minor scaling, but it caps off. When you reach the later areas there is a minimum difficulty of enemies. Its like morrowind to a point. You cant wander off to the desert and expect to fight easy enemies, and fight harder enemies in earlier areas. The central hyrule castle is all guardians from the start of the game and those can one shot you until you have like 15 hearts and upgraded armor.

I think non-one-to-one level scaling system might be okay. Have enemies that start out far more powerful than the player, but scale more slowly so they are eventually passed. Have mooks that scale more quickly than these powerful enemies, but still more slowly than the player so that they still become progressively easier but remain a threat for longer. Actually making your game so that scaling is unnecessary is still best design though.

Guardians on their own are tame compared to the Lynels, since you can shield-bash their lasers back at them with no consequence once you get the timing down. You'll have to get better weapons and better armor, get gud at perfect-dodging and arrow headshots, and not use ancient arrows like a pussy.

Maybe like a crafty goblin that picks up on your weird isekai technology and outfits their clan with better and better machines while giants are more steadfast in their traditional societies are more easy to straight up overcome. Characters and enemies start at different spots on the bar depending on their Initiative stat. They move along the bar from right to left until they reach the COM (command) bar.
When a character reaches the COM bar they will have their menu open and you can make them attack, use items, etc.
Once you pick the action and target, they will move from left to right on the bar until they get to the ACT block, at which point the command you gave them will go off. How long this takes depends on their level of skill with the chosen ability.
You also have the option to "start" them using their move at a certain block on the bar. You do this because if one or more characters is side by side on the bar when the first one in line reaches ACT, it will let those characters use powerful combo techs when their attacks go off.
All of this also applies to enemies, who work the same way but with the AI controlling them.
