the only games I pay for at this point are the ones I want to support whole hearted-ly. Such as pokemon

Mhmm, there you go. Well, actually, I also do out of laziness / when I want to just have the ability to play the game without problems, including multiplayer. Such as with Starcraft 2

yeah, black flag is a pretty shitty game, but aren't any really good pirate games, I bought for like 20usd, and the uplay wouldn't let me play, so I got a refund and pirated it.

Aha, I see. That'd be an Assassin's Creed game? Is it really all that much about pirating and stuff? I enjoyed Sid Meier's: Pirates! But it's more of a fun adventurey kind of game, not a gritty evil pirate game. (oh look, I even have a song from it)

Oh o: I didn't even know there was a remake. How did they change it? (maybe I played the casual version without even knowing it)

you ride around in a ship and fight other ships, and look for treasure
there are Assassin's Creed bits, but you can ignore it for the most part after you unlock your taking out ships
I also enjoyed the underwater bits for some reason

Ahh, I see, sounds neat. Do you board ships? And if so, do you then play out those battles in 3rd person, helping out your crew?

Well, I definitely must have played the latest one then. So what is it you don't like, that you can see other ships on the sea?

I think it just shows you where important ships are on the world map.
I think I played Sea Dogs many years ago.

Ahhh, well I don't think it actually does that, unless they are in sight. It may show you where this or that ship has been spotted last when you hear a rumour in the bar.
Didn't matter that much to me. Of all the little minigames, I liked conquering cities best. Naval battles were a mixed bag for me because if you wanted to force surrender, you often had to devastate the ship (hence you couldn't keep her cargo because the ruined ship would slow you down), or had to board and do swordplay which I found fairly difficult… and the longer the swordfight dragged on, the heavier your losses, which was no fun either.
Only Sid Meier's pirates for me, no other pirate game IIRC.

kinda, you have to take a number of the crew, then do something like take out the flag, or kill the captain, or both depending on the class of ship

Ahh, I see. That feels like a nice compromise. If we're talking about ships with dozens or maybe even hundreds of crewmen. The combats could get protracted and boring, I think.

No, if it's a named enemy you'll have to fight even after ripping his sails.

Yeah, but if his crew is reduced to smithereens (which it might well be after you've destroyed his sails), it might only take a single chop to defeat him.
Nice captcha, heh. This is one I got some time ago… I think it was-oh, yeah it says so in the filename, Depostifiles.

Well, chain shots are still pretty good against crew even if they're worse than grape shots. In any case, once you destroy enemy's sails, you might as well get behind it, lower your own sails and barrage it with grape shots for a minute. That's how cheesy I would be, heh.

Pretty sure they counted on it. It seems to me that on higher difficulties, that was your best hope until you got a huge slow hulk of a flagship yourself (or some of the top pirates' ships, which were great at everything, although not best at anything).

>I only order a latte

>tell him to just take her order
>he writes it down while staring at a mother a few tables away breastfeeding
>he brings the order after a few minutes
>sister asks where are the free breadsticks
>he starts foaming at the mouth, jumps on our table and screams at the top of his lungs "SEE? I FUCKING TOLD YOU, MAN! THIS IS WHAT GYNOCRACY LEADS TO. CAN'T PAY FOR YOUR OWN SHIT SO YOU GOTTA PRAY TO YOUR GOD - THE STATE - TO PROVIDE EVERYTHING FOR YOU, HUH? HUH HUH?!"
>latte gets spilled on my lap, scream in pain
>He now turns to me and shouts at my face "NOT AN ARGUMENT! YOUR FEELINGS ARE NOT AN ARGUMENT! YOU KNOW WHO DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOUR FEELING? BEARS!"
>the other staff members get to our table and start dragging him to the kitchen
>he shouts "NAP! NAP! YOU WANT TO SHOOT ME?!" through all the way
>manager comes out and apologizes for his employee, explains that that's what happens when you stay an ancap for over 50 years
