Writing.com interactive stories, i love these but they're so annoying, I can read about four pages then i got to wait a few hours before i can read some more. Anyone have any archives?

This folder has A Summer of Laughter, Fantasy Tickling Adventure, The Alien's Feather, Tickle Sorcery, Tickle Tournament 1 and 2, World of Tickles and most of the Facility story which got deleted a while ago.

I hate when a story goes unfinished or shitty chapters but I'm too lazy to write myself so I can't complain.

Tickle Tournament II Owner here, writing.com used to be a great forum but it sucks that now the interactives are nearly dead, with most of the active writers being autistic 12 year olds who somehow have access to paid accounts. It seems like most of the best people left and nobody new wants to drop money so they don’t have get those ridiculous error messages when trying to load chapters. If just three or four decent writers bought cheap memberships, I can guarantee the current quality site would improve by a lot. I’d definitely get back into writing there again as well.

Yeah I also hate when I have to go in and delete the poorly-written tripe that gets slopped up by some of the idiots on that site, especially when they’re intruding on the middle of someone else’s tickle tournament chapters, for example.

I’m no website designer, but you’d think it wouldn’t be that hard to make a mostly text-based website purely for interactive stories. The simpler the better, as long as you could see the full outlines of stories and which chapters were most recently added, like with writing.com

It's not all that hard to code with HTML as long as you know the language, but I've never actually published a site I've created. Some people say it's a pain in the ass.

I don’t post at writing.com at all anymore, because its so hard to access and I don’t have much confidence anyone of quality is going to collaborate on anything I do anymore. It was really fun when a couple good writers would push a story line. I don’t really curate my stories anymore, even though I’ve noticed a couple weird / subpar posts in them.
There were always the extremely trash posts before, but now it’s most of what’s left. That seems especially hard for the Tournament, which was designed to be a back-and-forth between two people and some idiot could block everything up.

Weird that a paywall is ensuring that lower quality writers are the only ones contributing, but it seems like that’s how it’s shaken out. I hardly ever write there anymore.

Writing isn't a big enough website to work on subscribers alone. They need a population of free-riders contributing to interactives or there isn't a critical mass. Some of their earlier models were smarter, even if still annoying: subscribers could add more branching paths, give awards to other users, create groups and other things. It was a reward for paying rather than a punishment for trying to view the site for free.
Non-subscribers can barely even read it now, which makes it even worse to post. I might be mostly doing it for myself, but how many people will even see it now?

I'm currently working on rewriting the interactive story Kira the Ticklish Kitsune, although admittedly it currently focuses more on my favourite kinds of tickling/tickle-spots rather than a variety.

I completely forgot we had this thread. Still sad that writing.com just went to complete shit, it's probably never going to get replaced.
