What vidya games are out there catering to Tiki lovers?
StarTropics for the NES comes to mind, as does T&C Surf Design for the same console. Anything more recent?

>>488Nice dubs. Check 'em.
StarTropics was a Zelda-like action-adventure set on a key of fictional Pacicific islands, in (back then contemporary) 1990.
You went through the usual routine of exploring dungeons and solving quests, when you weren't travelling between islands in a submarine.
Also, weird stuff like ghosts and aliens.
It was never a great commercial hit (coming very late in the life cycle of the NES, when the Sega Genesis was already blowing our minds and the SNES was around the cover), but it had some very sweet tiki elements.

I'll look into it :^)
Oh and I just remembered another game.
"Donald in Maui Mallard" or "Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow"
It's about Donald Duck (called "Maui Mallard" here) being a detective on a tropical island and also getting ninja training.
It's a very confusing but awesome mix between a tiki and a ninja vibe, and the music was amazing as fuck (especially on the PC)

So let's cover T&C Surf Design on the NES.
It was a very bare-bones skill game of skateboarding, surfing or both. What it lacked in variety it made up by being nintendo-hard, throwing more and more obstacles at you until it became nearly unwinnable.
Especially surfing is hard. It is hard enough to make up enough speed to stay ahead of the wave, and that is before any obstacles show up.
Still, it's a classic. And check that sweet tiki mask in the 2nd screenie.

>>487Not exactly Tiki or really South Pacific themed, but in Salt you explore islands and ride around in a boat and shit. Sadly it's early access, and very barebones right now, so I can't really recommend it, but sailing from island to island can be comfy.
Assuming the devs will deliver on what they promise, and early access devs ALWAYS do :^) , then it could turn out to be a pretty cool game.
