Is the intention for it to be worthless until you gain life? Level up cards start at level 0, so unless this is paired with a lifegain land or something, it won't do anything.
Aside from that, it's a neat design that feels both flavourful for white and not horribly OP or UP. Comparing it to Ajani's Pridemate, it has a lower floor and a more static ceiling (maxes as a 3/4 with keywords instead of a 7/7 vanilla).

Not >>414348 but yes. The card shows signs of being written like that intentionally.

I wouldn't call a 1/1 1 drop worthless, but yes. I actually wanted to make it an angel at higher levels, but there's no way to fit that in. Not against making it start with lifelink if it's balanced that way though.

I guess. 0 mana isn't actually free because it takes the place of a card that would have been in its place.

When I think about it, I think that I should have made Thorough Mercenary a Red creature and call it Goblin Pillager or something. I could flavored it as something that is extra brutal to things that can't fight back. I think that molasses strike should cost less than first strike but by how much? It essentially double the direct damage but last strike is so shitty that I have no idea how to cost it.

>last strike
Dumb mechanic which doesn't meaningfully make combat different - you make a creature worse instead of making a creature better. Whoopee.
>Heavy Rain
What the fuck is the point of this card? It literally does nothing.
>Magic Distortion Device
Compare to Silumgar Sorcerer, or the Awaken counterspell from BFZ. I would need multiple artifact anthems in play to make this not awful.
What is the purpose of any of your designs? I get the impression you have no idea what you want to do.

It removes the advantage of first strike and double strike but yes it is situational.
>I get the impression you have no idea what you want to do.
I'm trying to see what I can do with simple effects. I really like simple effects like first strike, deathtouch, and trample. I might also be overcorrecting the tendency to make overpowered cards or super high cost cards that won't realistically be played.
>It would need to draw a card at the very least.
Sounds about right.

Every set pre-Lorwyn lacked Planeswalker cards, so that's certainly possible. Omitting artifacts isn't a good idea, though. Artifacts, from what I understand, should be used to give players an impression of what things in your set's world "do."

Blue doesn't deal damage, but with how much pie bleed there has been in the last few years, damage to tapped creatures seems blue enough, doesn't it?

You're kidding, right? Pinging used to be a blue effect. Dealing more damage is a bit much, though. Dealing large amounts of damage to tapped creatures is more of a white thing.

I meant in the modern color pie (post 6th ed). I could justify doing it to tapped creatures, since white could punish attackers or blockers (blockers and vigilance would uniquely get hit by white damage effects). Plus, blue can tap them. I think it would fit, but only if blue had a bit more presence in dealing damage to begin with

An idea I had last thread. Templates (named for the D&D system for modifying monsters) are essentially to enchantments what equipment is to artifacts. Improves creature spells in exchange for higher casting cost without risk of being two-for-oned by standard removal (still a risk of two-for-one if the creature is locked down with Arrest and Oblivion Ring or the like hurts more than normal). One small benefit is that you can improve creatures with Flash while you cast them.
>As you cast a non-legendary non-{param1} creature spell, you may reveal this card from your hand and pay its template cost. If you do, put this card on the battlefield attached to that creature. Attached creature is a {param1} in addition to its other types. If this card would leave the battlefield, return it to its owners hand instead.

Inspired by a Yu-gi-oh card that was super broken. Not because it was OP, but because it was trivial to cause infinite, unbreakable loops that did nothing (attack booster goes on, attack booster goes off, attack booster goes on ect.). Hexproof should avoid all those problems.
Physical dominance and potential backfire seems red. No idea on the cost.

OP. The sacrifice isn't an additional cost under that wording, so you can just drop 4 on turn 1 and play a five drop.
>Heavy Rain
That reminder text isn't going to work, especially since you're trying to combine it with "Molasses strike" there for the same reason why "First strike" doesn't overwrite "Double strike."

What the fuck am I looking at? So it's an aura that waits for another non-tribal creature in order to activate, but then makes it the type, then attaches to that creature, then bounces on death?
It's a clusterfuck, and confused. Why would you care having your new creature by a Giant if you weren't running Giants already in the first place? Why does it bounce to hand afterwards at all?
Even if the mechanics were sound, that's not the most efficient way to go about it anyway. See attached - the activated ability is for the most part meaningless since the only thing it really does is get around shroud, but shroud was pretty much replaced with Hexproof anyway.
>>416871

Shit. For 3 blue, you can do more than just make something lose flying (compare to Tightening Coils, a 2 CMC that gives -6/-0 and flying-loss).

This causes the enchantment to remove itself since the creature is no longer a legal target for it. You need an extra line of text to get around this.
