Welcome to the NHK? Sort of anyway. More about one depressed Japanese NEET than it is about Japanese depression in general, though it does touch on the subject more than most.

Bump, since I'd like something similar to this and a Bukowski novel.

>horrible women

The funny thing is that nip women are infinitely better than their western counterparts in terms of wife-material.

And if they don't like that, Japs are at the very source of 2D. They are within walking distance of a place that sells something with their waifu on it.

I imagine there's a lot of things you can kill yourself for if you're a Jap, but women can't one of them.

In my humble opinion.

Well, from what I understand most of them are still very traditional with all the ups and downs. And the downside is that they want full control of family matters inside the family, while the man is only allowed to make decisions that affect the family from outside. In other words, the husband just handles all of his money to his wife, and expect her to be a good wife. Now, I can see that working if she is indeed a good and understanding wife.

The problem is that they are very picky, because they want a good husband with a good job. And most men simply have no chance to find a good job with the constant economic depression, therefore they are dropping out of society, and women can't even force themselves to care about them. Lastly, that part about her being a good and understanding wife isn't guaranteed. Apparently many Japanese women resemble little girls even more in mind that in body, and they just want to waste their time in malls buying cute things with their girlfriends. But they still expect their men to work 27+ hours every day, and give them all the money they earn, so they can waste it on inane bullshit.

What you say can indeed be true, I can only speak from my limited personal experience while visiting the country (I tried to be very attentive):

To me, what you speak of didn't even occur to me while studying the women I saw. Not even once. For the most part, if I am to generalize, what struck me about them were that they all seemed to be extremely hard-working (Whether at a job or as mothers, I saw both.). "Dependable", "reliable" are words that I could use to describe how I perceived them. Thoughtful and kind also, but again, stupid gaijin speaking over here.

The mothers I saw with their kids seemed so caring and attentive to their children it was heart-warming.

On top of all of this, almost every one of them is gorgeous. They have nice hair. They aren't covered in tattoos and piercings. They aren't dressed like whores. They have beautiful legs (From all the walking, cycling and standing on trains, I'm assuming.). They are polite and humble. And they wear the cutest socks I've ever seen.

Even the mothers who just had new-born babies were somehow skinny and fit.

Suffice to say, when I arrived back in North America, I had an instant feeling of disgust when faced with the filthy fucking cows. And this last statement is no exaggeration, my friend. Thank the heavens for 2D or I would be in a very dark place these days, after discovering what things could be.

In any case, these are just my observations from the short time I had there. I'm sure it's not all milk and honey and that I am ignorant to a lot of details about their private lives; I just wanted to share my two cents.

On top of that, a lot of the above characteristics I could also attribute to Japanese men. Things such as: Most dress nice and are fit and lean and are hard-working, etc.

>The problem is that they are very picky, because they want a good husband with a good job. And most men simply have no chance to find a good job with the constant economic depression

I recall reading one study a few years ago asking Japanese women the minimum income they would require from a husband candidate, and 50% of responses would have excluded at least 80% of Japanese men.

The real problem is that they want the ideal of "husband works to make money, while wife does housework" when that isn't economically feasible today. In the West, both partners have to work, and in Japan, the husband has to work far more than is reasonable.

Inio Asano's first manga Solanin covers the quarter-life crisis from a Japanese viewpoint.

Actually in general Inio Asano's work hold a ton of themes related to what you talk about.

>actually shilling for mothers requiring a job

What isn't feasible is having children whose only interaction with their parents are when the parents both get home shit tired after a long day at work. What isn't feasible is children growing up raised by strangers, television and iPads(tm). What isn't feasible is children not getting nutritious, home-cooked meals at the age when it is most important to their development.

Yes, a father should be prepared to do whatever it takes to ensure the best possible future for his family. A part-time job is the most a mother should have.

I wasn't though. I only compared two different bandaids used on the same gaping wound.
