I got nostalgic for the old youtube and went looking for old videos.

do you remember when people uploaded AMV clips on youtube just for fun

because they liked the shows and characters

it feels like today everything on yt is commercial first and foremost.

you have kids begging on patreon for money so they can buy pro equipment but they have no idea what type of videos they want to create.

i remember watching one video like this as a teen. same music, sakura sasuke when he left the village but it feels not quite like it was this video. the one i saw must have been older. in 2007 shippuuden already came and that was long after.

wish i could find that video again

anyways

sometimes i stroll through old comments and videos on yt

it feels like they fossilized a bit of the old times right there and you can come back to marvel in it.

by the way

youtube's search function is dogshit

you can not really search for chronology or sort the oldest videos atop of the results

you have to scroll down and it feels like it does not include all results

they call themselves masters of the internet

IIRC, the first shipppuuden episode aired in summer 2007. on wikipedia i read it aired in feb 2007 already. This is impossible I clearly remember waiting for it to be uploaded in summer 2007 on veoh because yt already started taking down all copyrighted material

personal anecdote

i wanted this beyblade so much back then

i remember i was at toysrus and i only had money for one bey

it was between this one and the master dranzer

i took the master dranzer

iirc it was red / gold, i had the blue one already

i wish i had money for both of them

today i could get this one too

i saw there are companies from hong kong who sell entire collections of these classic beys

but today i have no use for them anymore

and nobody to play with

funny how this shit haunts me into this day and age ..

a week later i went to the same store again to pick that one up finally as well

however, when i arrived there, there was no left anymore

and they never again stocked up on those in the past few months

months pass and my interest in beys wanes

i never had the beyblade of my favorite character in the end
