I don't know. People can divorce? It's legal now
People say they can't divorce because of children.
I'm not sure if it's right. Sometimes it's worse for the children. I think my parents should have divorced. They argued every single day. At least twice. Once in the morning, once in the evening and sometimes at other times. I hated it. When they got angry they would take it out on the children. It's not really fair, is it? I don't think so. The last time my parents beat me I was 17 or 18. How is that reasonable? I don't think that physical punishment is fit for an adult. Or even a 17 year old kid. My parents say they stay together because of the children
I know my parents are lying. They probably know it too. They stay together because they don't want to be alone. And because it has consequences. My father is a bit of a loner. If he divorces he will stay alone. He has been alone for quite some time throughout his life. I don't think he will be able to endure going back to that state after having a family
My mother cares about appearances. She will undoubtedly be embarrassed by a divorce. After all, it is perceived badly. My mother doesn't want people to think that she failed
I don't know why people think divorce is bad. I would have liked it if my parents divorced before. At least I would have avoided some beatings. And the fights and nagging. It was probably the most annoying part. I'm fine with the beatings. But I cannot stand the noise they make when they fight or nag. It's incredibly infuriating. I cannot stand anyone nagging
Maybe people stay in bad marriages because they have other benefits. Like tax benefits. I don't really know about marriage. But do those benefits outweigh the hardships? I wonder. If it's not the case, then how is marriage better than a relationship in this case?
I don't really care about marriage. I would like a girlfriend. I would be honored if she wants to be my wife. If it's going to make her happy, the I gladly would ask her to marry me. But I don't think it's a necessity. Maybe heterosexual couples need to get married to avoid pressure. Sometimes people pester guys about not asking their long time girlfriend to get married. I don't think it can be the case for me. I think that quite a portion of those who get married because of pressure don't end up having a fulfilling marriage
>psychological benefit
More or less. It's something that the other person wouldn't usually mention if you were fighting except in few cases. If you are friends with someone in order to climb up social ranks, they would mention it. It is a friendship of utility. If you are friends because you both have common interests that you discuss, they wouldn't normally mention it. It is a friendship of pleasure. The friendship of pleasure provides pleasure for both parties
