Society defines "good" so that wolves can benefit from it. If there is a building on fire and a cat is inside. Only the rarest types of wolves can save it. The sheep are too scared and feel empathy for the cat, but the act is too dangerous for them to commit. It would require them to lose their instinct for self-preservation, as if they were suicidal or most commonly, they would need to have what sheep call "recklessness."

They are accurately able to perceive risk because their brains prioritize their own goals over anxiety. Anxiety is inaccurate in most cases, after all it was never wiped out because it was great for survival not prosperity. This is linked to them not caring what others would think if it went wrong. If they are the lesser variation (in this case because jumping into a fire is extremely reckless, they would need low anxiety and empathy) with empathy. Praising these types of wolves rewards breaking social rules. That same brain output can be used to burglarize, rob or, murder. Their brains love thrills and the reward they get after being praised by others. It's a mixture.

For other altruistic acts like defending someone else in a fight. The presence of empathy is more common but the other things remain the same. Except, instead of low anxiety. They have a normal baseline level of anxiety but it is situational and doesn't occur in social contexts, on top of that they are selfish and more determined to achieve their goals.

Not all wolves are the same. Some may only be selfish enough or have great risk taking in only one path like shoplifting. Sheep cannot do any of these things and see everything that carries jail time as an existential threat to their survival. Wolves are deterred by the probability of getting caught, proving they can accurately calculate risk and arent blinded by reward. The reward acts as a motivation for that calculation. In those profiles, anxiety is always on. It activates depending on what environment triggers it.

Wolves are dangerous and evil because they have the capability to do things sheep can't. Sheep fear wolves but expect other wolves to protect them. Society shouldn't rely on wolves. It should rely on sheep cooperating. We can never truly map out the spectrum so we have to use behavioral observations. The best society requires everyone to be sheep.

Don't be a hero or a villain. Be a sheep. Be predictable.
