Anyway. I keep thinking about this over and over. I watched a couple of YouTube videos and saw some news from my country. It’s awful... Hearing it was just terrible. And I want to help in any way I can. But then I thought: on average, people just live their average, ordinary lives. Is it really all that bad? And if I do any help - is that a good thing, or is it just bullshit that gets in the way? But what if we freed humans from violence - ensured everyone had resources, help, and a way out? Would that be the right move, or just bullshit? Humans are creatures of meaning. And we find meaning in a lot of shitty things. Maybe we’d just move to a different level? I hadn't thought about it before. It’s quite possible it would just be a different stage. Meaning, we’ll likely always feel bad to some extent. After all, there are so many people, so much stuff in general. Things can go wrong at any moment. And even if we got rid of the specific bullshit that makes people miserable, something new would always pop up. So maybe we’d eventually reach a certain point? A moment where everything - life itself, its meaning, our understanding of it - becomes completely different? I don't know exactly how to explain this stage. Though maybe it’ll never happen, simply because there are always limitations and... people. People are always their own primary - and often only - limitation. Maybe the point isn't even about limitations?
I’m just writing this just because. I’m curious what you think about this: if we were to rid humanity of violence and provide unlimited resources, always a way out and help available, would that mark a new stage in our evolution, or would it just destroy everything?
