A veteran wow! Sorry bro but the old Internet of 2010 is gone, nowadays, over 50% of traffic is bots, while the remaining users—gen Z and Alpha—interact on TikTok and Snapchat, or go to Telegram for the nasty stuff. The majority of 4chan and 8chan users these days are likely Millennials. Personally I’m Gen Z but since I grew up in a household that was way behind the times technologically, I didn't experience the N64 until around 2009 lol. As for why so many people are suddenly flocking here, I think it’s because 4chan tightened its security for posting messages, now if you use a VPN or 4G/5G, you’re stuck in an endless loop of captchas. A second reason has to be the indirect publicity from mainstream youtubers, constantly talking about the weird nonsense found on these forums draws people in, though they tend to lose interest quickly (especially with brains fried by scrolling—the idea of waiting hours for a reply is unimaginable to them). And the third reason is the nostalgia factor, that old-school vibe is cool and reminds us of the good old days. Plus you get people from all over the world who can relate to one another (a lot of us are antisocial types who hate the outside world). Finally I haven't mentioned the anonymity factor because it doesn't really exist anymore, our IP are stored on servers, so if the police want to find you now, they can do it in two seconds with AI.
