Let’s say a man sins against another man, something simple like taking five dollars.
The issue with modern religion is that forgiveness does nothing to help the person that was stolen from/sinned against. The Catholics will say
>the man is forgiven
Which is untrue. You can forgive the man but without payment how is his debt forgiven? Next the answer
>then he must pay
He cannot pay enough. He is a thief. Finally
>let God have His vengeance
Does not the Bible lay out an entire law despite God swirling a fucking thousand foot high cloud of angels right in front of them, specifically for the humans to carry out? Does everyone forget that this life is the test God has placed on all of us?
Religion without the Levitical Precepts and Temple Law is just Satanism. If you support the enemy, you are not supporting God. If you ignore the laws, which Jesus never broke, you are ignoring God. The law demands equal restitution, not just per dollar but sometimes with excess for difficulty, because of issues like this.
If you forgive the sinner, you hurt the person sinned against. Jesus never hurt anyone, the forgiveness due to him was justified. The Jewish sects at the time often found blame where there was none—as well as, such as in the woman found cheating and let go (let he that is without sin &c), misunderstood the law (there is required to be both the husband present at such events and a law for jealous husbands without killing for adultery).
The fact that humankind has gone some three thousand years without giving God His compliments for such a perfect law irritates me to no end. In the Bible there is described an economic system with such perfect checks it is inflation-proof, but the government profits off inflation and humans are too ignorant to free themselves. I await the day God tires of you all and burns most of this planet.
