This should be obvious. Everything can be traced/compromised relatively easily. The illegal content was/is never safe to access. The lack of anonymity online was true 15 to 20 years ago; this is even more so the case in the 2020s.
The governments have huge data center(s) in every major city, and all online activities from every user is permanently stored in these centers. And law enforcement can access this data relatively easily in any serious investigation. Every download/upload (from the inception of the Internet) is stored in these data bases.
It goes without saying that we live in a global, survelliance/police state; there is no hiding from the government agencies. All activities (offline and online) is being monitored and tracked. In real time. The governments know about every minute detail of your life; otherwise, they wouldn't be able to tailor advertisements and products for your consumption.
I think the Snowden Leaks made it more than obvious that we live under a 1984 Orwellian state. There is no way to "hide" your porn downloads/uploads from the police. It is best to not access content which is against local/state/international law.
