Veracrypt only works on desktop and laptop computers. It does not work on smartphones/tablets. If you are using Linux, it has full disk encryption pre-installed on it. Linux gives you to the option to use full disk encryption upon installing it.

You should use Veracrypt to encrypt your files. Veracrypt can encrypt either external storage devices (like Micro SD cards, memory sticks, and external HDDs). Or you can use it to encrypt your entire OS or internal HDDs, which is called full disk encryption. This means people can't access the files on your computer, unless they enter the correct passphrase.

I recommend using Veracrypt encryption because you don't want unauthorized access to your files. You can find tutorials for Veracrypt on Youtube. The alternative to Veracrypt is Diskcryptor, but Veracrypt is better, so I don't recommend Diskcryptor.
