What are the chances that my family would be targeted if, hypothetically, I did what Luigi Mangione did? I'm from Mexico, I live in the middle of a narco-state, and I'm not sure that attacking high-ranking officials is a compelling option, knowing that they could go after your loved ones. It would deter any potential actor from mounting a reaction against the status quo, knowing it would harm their inner circle. I don't own any weapons myself, but it's something I've been thinking about.
