Recommended browsers 2025

>Floorp – “fascist-nazi-right approved”, highly customizable, no woke dev drama

>Waterfox – safe fallback after LibreWolf meltdown

>Zen Browser – rising fast, same vibe as Floorp

>Ladybird (when finished) – explicitly anti-CoC

>Pale Moon / Basilisk – old-school anti-Mozilla warriors

>Brave – still used, but losing ground because of “woke devs” revelations

>LibreWolf – radioactive; went from #1 privacy darling to complete pariah in <12 months

>Vanilla Firefox – only ironic or normie use

Leftist woke liberal democrat does use proprietary Google Brave LGBT MITM Spywarium that doesn't even have reproducible binaries. Just install far-right Floorp that Reddit users claim to be "facist nazi homophobic transphobic" browser. Same is said about LadyBird. Also both are open source, no tracking and Floorp supports real uBlock Origin that only works 100% correctly in Firefox based browsers. Let's switch to LadyBird when it is released. If you care about privacy, only single option (Firefox based and allows privacy addons) is Librewolf. If you prioritize browser to be "right wing facist nazi" meme, then your only option is Floorp and LadyBird.

I recommend you stop using Windows, and switch to Linux ASAP. Installing and using Linux isn't difficult. You can find Linux tutorials on DuckDuckGo or startpage, very easily. Windows is a very insecure OS, plus it is total spyware. I recommend Ubuntu or Linux Mint for new Linux users. Windows is just a terrible OS. And yeah, as for anonymity, use Tor or Whonix on a Linux OS. That's my advice.

does Vivaldi hide your ip address? For some reason, it sounds like Tor. But it might not be Tor.

If you want to "hide your IP address", you need to use a gateway that is not tied to your irl identity. Like a wifi cafe or library.

VPN, etc. is placebo. Depending on what you're doing you might also want to spoof your MAC. There is no free lunch. 5-eyes see ALL. Understanding the difference between "privacy" and "anonymity" is also really important. You don't always need both.

well, I don't believe for a second that illegal content is safe to access under any context. Needless to say, that CSAM stuff is probably all government honeypots.

Yeah, Tor is completely compromised. The Feds can easily run every Tor node as a honeypot, let's be honest. No intelligent person would dare access that cp stuff anyways.

I say it does not matter if you use a public wifi or your home wifi. It can all be traced, given the survelliance capacity of the government.

I think the part about the VPN is high misinterpretation. You can have a level of anonymity and privacy with VPN, but it depends on which one your using. The free ones are all garbage some have backdoors others have vulnerabilities. But some of the paid ones are legit the big three (express, surfshark, Nord) has plentiful servers, users, encryption and are based in places not very easy to get search warrants. As for Tor it all depends on the level of debauchery. There is a big difference between using the deepweb to say get some drugs or look at some fucked up shit and using it to conduct fraud and literally host those so called "honeypots". If whatever government in the world has such a grip on the TOR network than i am sure that such shady parts of the internet wouldnt exist if they arent generating some sort of revenue. Its more of the truth is in plain sight rather then it being cloak and dagger.

well the truth is this, Tor isn't as secure as one might believe, if someone uses Tor to download child porn, the police can still easily trace them through Tor. The police are more than capable of compromising cp downloaders of Tor via browser exploits and traffic analysis, etc. If someone was doing something as shady as downloading cp, they would (at the bare minimum) be using Whonix, which is harder to trace than Tor, and offers stronger anonymity/more security than just regular Tor Browser Bundle. And such shady activities definitely are not safe to do on Windows, which is backdoored for the government. Windows, which can easily be hacked and spied upon by the Feds. Anyone, involved in cp, would be using Linux, which offers sufficient privacy and security. And using Whonix on Linux; using a mere Tor Browser on Windows for something as shady as cp will definitely get you v& very easily
