Cowboy Gets Call from Trump, Thanks the ‘People’s President’ for Putting America First

The New Mexico cowboys who recently rode through downtown Washington, DC, to show their support for President Donald Trump and his plan for a border wall did not get to meet the commander-in-chief. However, Couy Griffin subsequently got a phone call from the White House and shared the conversation with Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily.

“We just wanted to go out simply and solely as a sign of support for our president — let the president know we had his back,” said Griffin, who along with about a dozen other cowboys, rode from Cumberland, Maryland, along the Chesapeake and Ohio (C&O) Canal to Arlington Cemetery, where they got a police escort around the nation’s capital.

Breitbart News featured a story and videos about the ride, which got national coverage from the media and the ear of the president, who called Griffin on his cell phone.

“The first thing I told the president is, I told him, I said, ‘Sir, I know there are lots around you that are armchair quarterbacking you,’” Griffin said. “‘I know that everybody’s a critic of everything you do, and many are telling you that you should be doing things differently, but I would like to speak on behalf of myself and millions of others who think just like me — keep doing exactly what you’re doing because you’re doing a great job.’”

Townsend’s suggestion that it is “Communist” for the government to play a role in “forcefully injecting” children with vaccinations has precipitated the latest wave of strong criticism against the anti-vaccine movement amid what’s become perhaps the most emotionally charged public-health discussion today.

“Wanted: a vaccine to protect us from Rep. Kelly Townsend’s crazy Communist conspiracy theories,” Arizona Republic columnist Laurie Roberts tweeted.

Hours later, amid the mounting criticism, Townsend doubled down on her stance in a separate post.

“The point here isn’t whether or not we should vaccinate, that’s for another post,” she wrote. “The point is whether or not your body is sovereign or if the government can force you to be injected against your will.”

In an interview with The Washington Post, the Republican from Mesa, Ariz., said she acknowledges the voluminous studies supporting the need for and safety of vaccines, but she defended her right to opt out of getting vaccinated and to prevent her children from doing so.

“My child is at risk from being injured from a vaccine and your child is potentially at risk if my son catches something," she told The Post. "Whose child is more important? Where’s the line?”

Townsend’s position goes against years of overwhelming evidence from the likes of doctors, public health officials, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and others that the measles vaccine is effective and safe. As The Washington Post’s Lindsey Bever reported Thursday, measles was declared eliminated from the U.S. in 2000, nearly four decades after parents began vaccinating their kids in a period in which millions contracted the disease annually. “CDC data shows that from 2000 to 2018, there was an average of 140 measles cases per year in the United States,” Bever wrote. “And there were three reported fatalities during that time — one in 2002, one in 2003 and one in 2015.”

But Townsend demanded that instead of continuing to push for widespread vaccination against the disease, the government and the pharmaceutical industry instead invest money into “discovering what in these vaccines is causing so much injury.”

“The problem is something is in those vaccines,” Townsend said.

Messages like Townsend’s are dangerous, federal health officials have recently warned. “The people who read that information may not know it’s false,” Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health, said on Wednesday. “They may be well-meaning, but the spread of false information is a major problem.”

Townsend says her opposition is rooted in her experience. The legislator’s 22-year-old daughter has significant medical problems that she blames on a vaccine she received when she was 10 months old. She says no scientific evidence will convince her otherwise.

“My entire life has been a struggle and it’s been nothing compared to my daughter’s struggle, and it’s been due to the shots she got at 10 months old,” she said. “You can have 10 years’ worth of daily articles saying vaccines do no harm and I won’t believe it because it happened to us.”

In 2016, SNC-Lavalin admitted that some former executives had illegally arranged donations of more than C$80,000 to Trudeau's Liberal Party from 2004 to 2011.

The company had revenues of some C$10 billion in 2018. Some 9,000 of its 52,000 employees work in Canada. The headquarter and 3,400 of its employees are in the province of Quebec where the Liberals need to pick up votes in October's federal election to keep their majority.

It was the task of the Justice Minister and Attorney General, Jody Wilson-Raybould, to decide if the case should go on trial as the law demands, or if it could be settled out of court. A trial would likely end with SNC-Lavalin banned from all public contracts in Canada for 10 years. It would cost jobs and votes.

The company lobbied the Liberal government which brought in a remediation agreement regime in 2018 as part of a massive budget bill.

3 percent growth isn’t a fairytale, after all

For the first time in 13 years, America’s economy hit the 3 percent growth milestone for a calendar year, thanks to an expectations-beating fourth quarter in 2018.

GDP grew by 3.1 percent from the fourth quarter of 2017 to the fourth quarter of 2018. Because of the math behind how GDP growth is calculated, this time period is “a better measure of how the economy actually performed in 2018” than a year-over-year figure, according to former President Obama's top economist.

For two straight years, growth has matched or exceeded the Trump Administration’s own forecast. That result will come as a surprise to some of the President’s critics. “Apparently, the budget forecasts that U.S. economic growth will rise to 3.0 percent because of the administration’s policies,” one prominent liberal economist wrote in 2017.

“Fair enough if you believe in tooth fairies,” he added.

Those predictions haven’t aged well. In the real world, the Trump Economy continues to bust expectations across the board. Job growth in January 2019 reached 300,000, for example—compared to the Congressional Budget Office’s January 2017 projection of 71,000 per month. And for the first time in a decade, wages rose 3 percent.

This growth isn’t a continuation of the economy President Trump inherited. It’s an acceleration. Had the pre-2017 growth trend continued, economic growth would have been 2 percent in both 2017 and 2018. The actual 3.1 percent growth rate we got in 2018 represents $280 billion more in American economic output.

"The [GDP] report shows how Republican-backed tax cuts may have continued to aid growth and help bring the full-year figure to 3.1 percent, just above President Donald Trump’s 3 percent goal,” Bloomberg reports. Indeed, the 1.1 percentage point above expected growth “is almost exactly in line” with what economic research suggests would happen if a tax bill “of the same magnitude as the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act” took effect, the Council of Economic Advisers wrote today.

President Trump returns home tonight from Hanoi, Vietnam, where he met with both Vietnamese leaders and Chairman Kim Jong Un of North Korea over the past few days.

“I want to thank all of the people of Vietnam for having treated us so well,” President Trump said. Among meetings with Vietnamese President Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, President Trump also participated in the signing ceremony for commercial trade deals that will support more than 83,000 American jobs.

On North Korea, President Trump held firm on America’s terms: Nothing short of progress toward complete, verifiable denuclearization will result in sanctions relief.

“I think our relationship is very strong,” President Trump said of Chairman Kim. “I think, actually, it was a very productive two days. But sometimes you have to walk, and this was just one of those times.” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo added that “we didn’t get to [a deal] that ultimately made sense for the United States of America . . . I hope we’ll do so in the weeks ahead.”

Scientists Want Orwellian A.I. Sentient Smart Assistants To Snitch On Owners And Discuss Contacting Police

Smart assistants like Siri, Google Home, and Amazon Echo could soon be implemented with a “moral AI” to decide whether to report their owners for breaking the law.

Scientists at the University of Bergen, Norway proposed the incredibly Orwellian idea of inserting morals into A.I. code at the ACM conference in Hawaii on Artificial Intelligence, Ethics and Society, Dailymail reported.

Yes, you read that right, scientists want to make that little hunk of metal of invasive technology even more invasive.

The researchers are pushing for what’s being deemed, enhanced ethical smart software that could be potentially one of the most dangerous implementations into these home assistants leading them to become sentient and deciding human beings’ fates; and not just any human beings, their own owners. As a result, millions of people would be under constant surveillance not even requiring a snitch program like Amazon’s Ring doorbell spyware as Activist Post previously reported.

No, instead, little tin cans would be doing the watching that are sold as alleged “home assistants.”

The research was led by Marija Slavkovik, an associate professor in the department of information science and media studies. As well as by two other professors at the University of Luxembourg and Zhejiang University, Leon van der Torre and Beishui Liao.

Global Stocks Surge On Rebound In Chinese Data, MSCI Inclusion

ust as the official Chinese manufacturing PMI's disappointing Thursday print (to a three year low) pressured stocks on the last day of February, and sent both the MSCI World Index and the Dow Jones to three consecutive days of declines, the longest such stretch of 2019 yet, overnight's Caixin PMI which unexpectedly posted a sharp rebound in February, rising to 49.9 from 48.3 in January, offered some reassurance to investors concerned about the growth outlook that the global economic drop may have troughed while "optimism" for a trade deal returned; Treasuries extended their recent decline and the dollar pushed higher for a third day before easing back. The result is a sea of green in global stocks with the S&P trading back over the critical 2,800 level.

Bullish sentiment stormed back led by China, where shares outperformed with the Shanghai Composite closing 1.8% higher following confirmation that MSCI Inc. will quadruple the weight of Chinese stocks in its global benchmarks from 5% to 20%, while in contrast to the small decline in NBS manufacturing PMI reported just one day earlier, the Caixin manufacturing PMI bounced back in February from the dip in January. It rose by 1.6pp to 49.9, although January-February combined, Caixin manufacturing PMI averaged at 49.1, lower than 49.7 in December last year. Most sub-indexes of the survey rebounded in February vs January. The fact that the index remained just barely in contraction territory was offset by a sharp increase in the forward-looking new orders index component.

“Sweden’s EPP-members of European Parliament are Soros-allies”

Swedish right-wing politicians criticised the Swedish EPP member parties after they called on the party family to expel Hungary’s ruling Fidesz party.

“We don’t want to meddle into internal EPP affairs, if they have a valid reason to criticise Hungary’s governing party, they should do that. But their current criticism is rather a part of the political campaign of the leftist-liberal forces”, Bjorn Soder, MP of the Sweden Democrats told Magyar Hirlap.

According to Gustav Kasselstrand, the chairman of the Alternative For Sweden (AfS), the conservative parties within the EPP have been weakened by the new liberal bourgeoisie. He said it’s respectable, that Fidesz wants to“change the direction” of the party family, but the EPP “has become a weak, liberal group, which took over the left-liberal worldview, it represents the interests of the left side and George Soros”.

Magyar Hirlap’s article recalled the critical remarks of the Swedish EPP politicians and highlighted that all Swedish EPP MEPs are on the leaked list of Soros-allies.
