Republican group planning $50M campaign to block Trump from reelection

An anti-Trump Republican group is planning to spend $50 million in a campaign to stop the former president from winning a second term in the White House.

Republican Voters Against Trump plans to share testimonial videos of Trump’s past backers who will share why they won’t be supporting the former president come November.

The campaign is orchestrated by Sarah Longwell, a Republican strategist who has long been critical of Trump. The plan is to target “moderate Republican” and Republican-leaning voters in swing states with videos. The group had a similar strategy in 2020, when they shared more than 1,000 testimonials during an election that President Biden won.

The ads featuring the former Trump voter testimonials will be deployed on TV, streaming platforms, billboards, radio and digital media. They will run in the battleground states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Longwell believes the anti-Trump coalition built up in 2020 was one of the determining factors in that contest, and that expanding the demographic in 2024 could be a determining factor in whether Trump returns to the White House.

“Former Republicans and Republican-leaning voters hold the key to 2024, and reaching them with credible, relatable messengers is essential to re-creating the anti-Trump coalition that made the difference in 2020,” Longwell, the president of the group’s Republican Accountability PAC, said in a Tuesday statement.

“It establishes a permission structure that says that — whatever their complaints about Joe Biden — Donald Trump is too dangerous and too unhinged to ever be president again. Who better to make this case than the voters who used to support him?”

Both B/Victoria and B/Yamagata virus components from the 2018-2019 flu vaccine remain the same for the 2019-2020 flu vaccine.

For the 2019-2020 flu shot the CDC states that the trivalent (three-component) vaccines will contain:

A/Brisbane/02/2018 (H1N1)pdm09-like virus (updated)

Most of the vaccine’s components were decided in early February, but the World Health Organization needed more time for one aspect. The WHO decided to delay the addition on aH3N2component until March.

According to the CDC, “H3N2viruses have presented an increasing challenge for vaccine virus selection due to frequent changes in theH3N2viruses.” The unpredictable strain has made it much harder to create an effective vaccine in recent years. TheH3N2strain appeared to be mild last year, but caused a devastating outbreak in 2017-2018.

Avian influenza virus H3N2 is endemic in pigs in China, and has been detected in pigs in Vietnam, contributing to the emergence of new variant strains. Pigs can carry human influenza viruses, which can combine (i.e. exchange homologous genome subunits by genetic reassortment) with H5N1, passing genes and mutating into a form which can pass easily among humans. H3N2 evolved from H2N2 by antigenic shift and caused the Hong Kong Flu pandemic of 1968 and 1969 that killed up to 750,000 humans. The dominant strain of annual flu in humans in January 2006 was H3N2. Measured resistance to the standard antiviral drugs amantadine and rimantadine in H3N2 in humans had increased to 91% by 2005. In August 2004, researchers in China found H5N1 in pigs.[6]

The Hong Kong flu was the first known outbreak of the H3N2 strain, though there is serologic evidence of H3N2 infections in the late 19th century. The first record of the outbreak in Hong Kong appeared on 13 July 1968 in an area with a density of about 500 people per acre in an urban setting. The outbreak reached maximum intensity in two weeks, lasting six weeks in total. The virus was isolated in Queen Mary Hospital. Flu symptoms lasted four to five days.[10]

The era of Western elites being able to exploit other nations and other peoples across the world is coming to an end, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an exclusive interview published by Rossiya 1 and RIA Novosti on Wednesday.

The president stated that over the past few centuries,the so-called “golden billion” has grown accustomed to being able to “fill their bellies with human flesh and their pockets with money” as they have been “parasitizing” other peoples in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

”But they must understand that the vampire ball is ending,” Putin said.

He added that the citizens of the aforementioned regions, which have been continuously exploited by the West over the past 500 years, have started to associate Russia’s struggle for sovereignty with “their own aspirations for sovereignty and independent development.”

At the same time, Putin noted that Westernelites have a very strong desire to “freeze the current situation” and preserve the “unjust state of affairs in international affairs.”

Previously, in his keynote address to Russia’s Federal Assembly last month, Putin stated that the West, with its “colonial habits” of “igniting national conflicts all over the world,” intends to do everything it can to stall Russia’s development and turn it, as it did Ukraine, into a dying failed state.

”In place of Russia, they want a dependent, withering, dying space, where they can do whatever they want,” he said.

The president followed up on those comments in Wednesday’s interview, stating that manyWestern elites, who have been “blinded by their Russophobia” were “thrilled” when they were able to push Russiato the point where it had to launch its military offensive in Ukraine in order to end the war unleashed by the West in 2014.

”They were even happy, I think, because they believed that now they would finish us off using a barrage of sanctions, having practically declared a sanctions war against us, and with the help of Western weapons in the hands of Ukrainian nationalists,” said Putin, suggesting that this mindset was behind Western calls to “inflict a strategic defeat on Russia on the battlefield.”

Now, the West appears to have realized that defeating Russia in this way is not only unlikely, but impossible due to the unity of its people, the fundamental foundations and stability of its economy and the growing potential of its military, the president said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has described the US presidential election race as “increasingly uncivilized,” but has stressed it would be inappropriate for Moscow to interfere in American domestic affairs.

Here, we retrospectively examine the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) database for neurological AEs reported following vaccination. Since VAERS is a passive reporting system, to minimize reporting bias and to reduce background events, this retrospective study examines both age-stratified AE reports made with onset within 24 h of immunization, and age-stratified AE reports regardless of timeframe from immunization. Immediate temporal onset data patterns for febrile convulsion, seizure, and syncope AEs were observed for multiple vaccines. For age-stratified AEs in infants up to 3 years of age,the following patterns of high association were observed: (i) Aphasia, autism spectrum disorder, and speech disorder were found to be highly associated with the measles, mumps, and rubella and hepatitis B (HepB) vaccines; (ii) febrile convulsion and syncope were found to be highly associated with the meningococcal group B vaccine; and (iii) seizures were found to be highly associated with diphtheria and tetanus toxoids and whole-cell pertussis (DTP) vaccines.

I am no longer a professor of medicine at Harvard. The Harvard motto is Veritas, Latin for truth. But, asI discovered, truth can get you fired. This is my story—a story of a Harvard biostatistician and infectious-disease epidemiologist, clinging to the truth as the world lost its way during the Covid pandemic.

On March 10, 2020, before any government prompting, Harvard declared that it would “suspend in-person classes and shift to online learning.” Across the country, universities, schools, and state governments followed Harvard’s lead.

Yet it was clear, from early 2020, that the virus would eventually spread across the globe, and that it would be futile to try to suppress it with lockdowns. It was also clear that lockdowns would inflict enormous collateral damage, not only on education but also on public health, including treatment for cancer, cardiovascular disease, and mental health. We will be dealing with the harm done for decades. Our children, the elderly, the middle class, the working class, and the poor around the world—all will suffer.

Schools closed in many other countries, too, but under heavy international criticism, Sweden kept its schools and daycares open for its 1.8 million children, ages one to 15. Why? While anyone can get infected, we have known since early 2020 that more than a thousandfold difference in Covid mortality risk holds between the young and the old. Children faced minuscule risk from Covid, and interrupting their education would disadvantage them for life, especially those whose families could not afford private schools, pod schools, or tutors, or to homeschool.

What were the results during the spring of 2020? With schools open, Sweden had zero Covid deaths in the one-to-15 age group, while teachers had the same mortality as the average of other professions. Based on those facts, summarized in a July 7, 2020, reportby the Swedish Public Health Agency, all U.S. schools should have quickly reopened. Not doing so led to “startling evidence on learning loss” in the United States, especially among lower- and middle-class children, an effect not seen in Sweden.

Sweden was the only major Western country that rejected school closures and other lockdowns in favor of concentrating on the elderly, and the final verdict is now in. Led by an intelligent social democrat prime minister (a welder), Sweden had the lowest excess mortality among major European countries during the pandemic, and less than half that of the United States. Sweden’s Covid deaths were below average, and it avoided collateral mortality caused by lockdowns.

Yet on July 29, 2020, the Harvard-edited New England Journal of Medicine published an article by two Harvard professors on whether primary schools should reopen, without even mentioning Sweden. It was like ignoring the placebo control group when evaluating a new pharmaceutical drug. That’s not the path to truth.

That spring, I supported the Swedish approach in op-eds published in my native Sweden, but despite being a Harvard professor, I was unable to publish my thoughts in American media. My attempts to disseminate the Swedish school report on Twitter (now X) put me on the platform’s Trends Blacklist. In August 2020, my op-ed on school closures and Sweden was finally published by CNN—but not the one you’re thinking of. I wrote it in Spanish, and CNN–Español ran it. CNN–English was not interested.

I was not the only public health scientist speaking out against school closures and other unscientific countermeasures. Scott Atlas, an especially brave voice, used scientific articles and facts to challenge the public health advisors in the Trump White House, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Anthony Fauci, National Institutes of Health director Francis Collins, and Covid coordinator Deborah Birx, but to little avail. When 98 of his Stanford faculty colleagues unjustly attacked Atlas in an open letter that did not provide a single example of where he was wrong, I wrote a response in the student-run Stanford Daily to defend him. I ended the letter by pointing out that:

Participants are not notified of their results. But they are given a COVID-19 home test kit to take with them, CDC officials say.

Samples have come from more than 475,000 air travelers coming off flights from more than 135 countries, officials said.

Health officials also have been sampling wastewater that comes off international flights at a few airports. That testing is for COVID-19, but CDC officials are evaluating the possibility of monitoring wastewater for other things, Walker said.

The CDC program has a current budget of about $37 million. The agency pays two companies, Ginkgo Bioworks and XWell, to do sample collection and testing. The companies are working with CDC to grow the program to check for more than 30 different disease-causing germs.

On Aug. 20, 2021, as his stepfather waited outside, a 14-year-old boy named Tanner Smith walked into a North Carolina high school for a Covid test.

But the testing area doubled as a vaccination center, and once Tanner arrived, he was told he needed a Pfizer mRNA Covid shot. He told the vaccinators he had come for a test, not a jab. They called Tanner’s mom. She didn’t answer. They made no effort to contact Tanner’s stepfather at all.

“Give it to him anyway,” one of the vaccinators said. So they did.

Almost exactly one year later, on Aug. 19, 2022, Tanner and his mother Emily Happel sued the county board of education and the medical group that had given him the shot for battery and violating their state and federal constitutional rights.

It seemed like an open-and-shut case.

And it was.

On Feb. 27, 2023, North Carolina state court Judge Lora C. Cubbage dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled under any circumstances. Last week, a three-judge panel of the North Carolina Court of Appeals, the state’s second highest-court, unanimously upheld Cubbage’s ruling.

The reason?

The Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act - a December 2005 federal law known as the PREP Act - barred Tanner’s claims, the appeals court found. As Judge April Wood wrote:

[T]he immunity provided by the Act is extremely broad. The PREP Act provides immunity “with respect to all claims for loss caused by, arising out of, relating to, or resulting from the administration to or the use by an individual of a covered countermeasure” if [an emergency] declaration has been issued… [emphasis added]

Those “countermeasures” to the Covid epidemic include the Pfizer and Moderna jabs.

And North Carolina’s own laws did not apply to the vaccines, becausethe act “contains a broad provision preempting state law.” More specifically, the PREP Act bars states from applying any law that conflicts with its provisions barring suits.

AT&T Hit with Congressional Subpoena for Hunter Biden’s Phone Records=

The House Oversight Committee has issued a congressional subpoena to telecommunications company AT&T to demand the phone records of Democrat President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter.

Committee investigators areseeking fifteen years’ worth of Hunter Biden’s phone records.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer wrote a letter to AT&T asserting that the request is being made as part of the impeachment inquiry into President Biden.

In the letter, Comer writes:

“The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability (Oversight Committee) is investigating whether sufficient grounds exist to draft articles of impeachment against President Biden for consideration by the full House.

“Together with the House Committee on the Judiciary (Judiciary Committee) and the House Committee on Ways and Means (collectively with the Oversight Committee, the Committees), the Committees set forth in a Sept. 27, 2023 memorandum the evidence justifying the inquiry and the scope of this impeachment investigation.

“On Dec. 13, 2023, the House of Representatives adopted a resolution directing the Committees to continue this investigation,” Comer continues.

“The Oversight Committee is subpoenaing certain records in the possession, custody, or control of AT&T that are relevant to the impeachment inquiry.

“This subpoena is being issued pursuant to my authority as Chairman of the Committee under Rule XI, clause 2(m)(1)(B) of the Rules of the House of Representatives, and Rule 12(g) of the Committee’s Rules.

“The Committee is seeking records related to AT&T customer, Mr. Robert Hunter Biden.

“As part of its investigation, the Oversight Committee has reviewed bank records of individuals and entities associated with the Biden family as well as other evidence.

“This review uncovered a pattern of financial complexity,” Comer added.

“As detailed in the Impeachment Memorandum and the Oversight Committee’s Bank Memoranda, the Biden family used corporate bank accounts of third-party associates to receive wires from foreign companies and foreign nationals.

“The Biden business associates then dispersed money to various Biden family members in incremental payments over time.”

AT&T has been given a deadline to hand over the records.

The subpoena states that AT&T must provide the records to the committee by next week, March 20, 2024.

Meanwhile, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) has threatened to hold FBI director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress for withholding information about the bureau’s interactions with social media companies about Hunter Biden.

Jordan has pressed Wray for the identities of FBI officials who took part in more than 30 meetings with Twitter and Facebook in the run-up to the 2020 election.

According to Jordan, the officials warned social media executives that “Russia” may release derogatory information about the Biden family before the election.

The Republican says those warnings “prompted the companies to erroneously suppress” an accurate New York Post story in October 2020 about Biden’s laptop.

The very real laptop contains details about Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings.

According to Jordan, the FBI made an “institutional decision” after the Post story to “refuse to answer direct questions” from the companies about the authenticity of the Biden laptop.

They did so despite learning in November 2019 that Biden’s laptop was legitimate.

In a letter toWray on Monday, Jordan gave the FBI chief until March 25 to turn over the information or face contempt proceedings.

Obama-Era DHS Agents Set Up Cartel Money Laundering Operation in Mexico City’s Airport

At least two U.S. federal agents working with a group of informants and straw men in Mexico were allegedly able to set up a sophisticated money laundering operation based out of Mexico City’s airport. The operation reportedly ran during the Obama-Biden administration between 2010 and 2019. The two agents apparently have not faced any prosecution and are reportedly still employed by the U.S. government.

Through that operation, which reportedly included currency exchange storefronts and various other businesses, the agents are alleged to have laundered millions for Colombian and Mexican drug cartels while working their day jobs as high-ranking officials with U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Mexico’s Proceso Magazine reported. In two separate reports, the Mexican publication detailed how the group set up currency exchange businesses to move large amounts of cash and used several ghost companies to launder funds.

The reports are based on documents and statements given to Proceso by an unnamed individual who claimed to have been one of the financial operators in the network while also working as a DHS informant.

The report identified the two DHS agents as Thomas LaPak and Kenny Popovits. The informant claimed that he worked with them for years to move funds between Mexico, North Korea, China, Taiwan, and the U.S. by using ghost companies and various banking institutions.

In the report, Proceso details the wire transfers between ghost companies used to launder hundreds of thousands of dollars at a time. One of the companies, Promotora de Cambio, was a currency exchange shop based out of Mexico City’s airport, where the informant claimed to have delivered bags of cash on a regular basis. The various companies mentioned in the article do not appear to have been raided by Mexican authorities or mentioned in any investigations in the years after.

The source of the article claimed to have been prosecuted in the U.S. on money laundering charges and that the two agents that he worked with abandoned him to his fate. After serving his time and returning to Mexico, the individual has kept a low profile, fearing for his life.

The article’s source also claimed that the DHS agents had recommended him to a DEA agent who wanted to work with him in other financial matters and use him as a source, but the informant claimed to have refused.

Plaintiff Russell-Jay: Gould has paid a $150 filing fee and filed a number of documents apparently intended to constitute a proposed civil complaint. Upon review of plaintiff's complaint, I conclude that it should be dismissed forthwith on the court's own motion for lack of subject matter jurisdiction.

A district court may dismiss a complaint for lack of subject matter jurisdiction on its own motion where the claims are "so insubstantial, implausible, foreclosed by prior decisions of [the United States Supreme Court], or otherwise completely devoid of merit as not to involve a federal controversy." Steel Company v. Citizens for a Better Environment, 118 S.Ct. 1003, 1010 (1998) (citing Oneida Indian Nation of N.Y. v. County of Oneida, 414 U.S. 661, 666 (1974)).
