ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – One person is hospitalized with critical injuries after a fight Friday near Hazelwood East High School.

The St. Louis County Police Department says one female was hospitalized after the fight. Authorities did not disclose the female’s age or identity.

County police responded to Hazelwood East High School at an unspecified time on Friday after reports of a fight in the area.

Police have not disclosed where exactly the fight happened in connection with the high school, how many people may have been involved, or if students were involved. Police have also not reported any arrests as of Saturday.

“They go, ‘What court case around January 6?’”she recalled. “These were swing voters, and about half of them weren’t sure what we were talking about. And I said, ‘Well, you know, the insurrection and that he was the one that provoked it.’ They go, ‘Oh, yeah. I kind of forgot about that.’”

For journalists and the types of highly engaged voters who watch the news every night, Trump’s lock on renomination has been near-certain for at least six months, and his various transgressions and incendiary comments are well known. While Mr. Trump is staking his campaign on a nostalgia for a time not so long ago, Mr. Biden’s campaign is counting on voters to refocus on Mr. Trump, hoping they will recall why they denied him a second term.

“Remember how you felt the day after Donald Trump was elected president in 2016,” the Biden campaign wrote in a fund-raising appeal last month. “Remember walking around in disbelief and fear of what was to come.”

For now, the erosion of time appears to be working in Mr. Trump’s favor, as swing voters base their support on their feelings about the present, not the past.
