If one paid attention to early reporting then it was clear there was more going on. Talk of suspects even being intercepted at Amtrak stations. Anon remembers well early AM news radio reporting, morning of, that an F-16 shot down Flight 93. The station never corrected the report. They just later reported the whole Todd Beamer "Let's Roll" narrative.
Anon believes what you say. Or more precisely. Anon believes that you believe what you say. And it might be the truth. Anon does not know. Anon however believes that we have been lied to about a great many things concerning that day. Anon remembers Rumsfeld announcing to the world the "Pentagon Office of Disinformation". Never heard another thing about it. Never heard of it being shut down or anything else. Have analyzed and agonized for more than two decades. Why? Well because the story, and the way it was presented (both the visuals in the media and the way it was told) just didn't quite add up. Think Hijacker mugshot lineup aired over the TV networks (for example). Remember, anon had already been through reporting on TWA 800. So suspicion about what what was being said came as second nature by that point. So what was the truth? Running mental simulation, or thought experiments, over and over, and over again. Changing variables, looking at the plausibility of each. Then leaving NYC completely out of the analysis. And focusing only on what happened at the Pentagon and in that field near Shanksville. Anon figured if could not solve the problem because it was too big and complex then break it into two pieces and work on them seperately. Anon chose first to work on DC because it is the seat of power of the USA, had the most proveable discrepencies, and failures on both sides (attackers and targets). Also because popular thinking on NYC had become such a convoluted mess. What with seemingly a thousand different scenarios being tossed around. Everything from nukes in the basement to directed energy weapons to the wrong type of jet engine found in the street to no planes at all. It was just a mess to look at all the different theories and try to form a cohesive model that worked in my mind. Those waters were quite muddied. Perhaps this was by design. So I chose to focus only on DC for the time being. And that is where my models started to make some sense. Let me explain.
So what do we know about the attack(s) on DC? For starters, unlike NYC, we have no images of any airplanes flying into any buildings at all. Supposedly they exist, but the FBI says we can't see them. What images we have been allowed to see show something flying into the Pentagon and exploding. But certainly not an American Airlines 757 (Flight 77). And the damage to the building. Once again. Not a 757. Then there is the part about just how impossible the descending corkscrew turn by the 757 prior to impact would have been for even the most skilled 757 pilot to pull off (Why does the military do a tactical descent like this anyway? One reason is to be seen by as few eyes as possible in the area. Think about that one.). So a 757 is out of the question altogether at this point. There are just too many no's and zero yes's. It had to be a missile. Once that idea was firmly placed in my mind then I was free to think about other aspects of the DC attack(s). The failed attack. Flight 93. Of course there is the official story of the passengers somehow getting word that they were aboard a weapon of war that would soon impact it's taget and then making it impossible for the Hijackers of that particular 757 to do anything other than crash in a field outside Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Makes for a heroic story to buoy the American citizenry's spirits, doesn't it? But in light of the obvious lies surrounding Flight 77 it seems rather fantastical in retrospect. What do we know about United Flight 93? Not much actually. We have images of a hole in the ground and no airplane seen. Like the Pentagon, impact damage doesn't match the damage footprint that a 757 would put down where it hit. Regardless of the angle of the impact. The story is they were identical aircraft. And on that point anon has no cause to differ. So anon has decided, for purposes of modeling what happened, that they both were missiles. A failed attack. Well the hit on the Pentagon seemed to come in pretty low and level from what we have been allowed to see. What missile flies low and level? A cruise missile comes to mind. So two cruise missiles then. Why Shanksville? Well, what do we know about cruise missiles in 2001? They can be pre-programmed to fly a route to their target while staying at low altitude and presumably get there undetected by enemy radar defense systems. Also possibly could be flown by remote control from the launch point. What was maximum range of other than US cruise missiles in 2001? After looking at various models and ranges anon settled on 400 miles for purposes of the theory. Obviously the second failed to hit it's target. Why? Perhaps it malfunctioned? Perhaps it had help malfunctioning in the form of suddenly activated US radio jammers immediately after the Pentagon was hit? If a cruise missile, or it's targeting system, suddenly was jammed and/or malfunctioned what would happen? Would it just spontaneously self destruct? Or would it possibly go to some default mode to maintain straight and level flight in case the jamming stopped and/or the malfunction suddenly cleared? Designed this way so as to have the best chance of resuming the mission? What if it just continued to fly straight and level? What might it's ultimate fate be? Shot down? If not shot down then certainly it would run out of fuel. Now draw a straight line that is 400 miles long. It starts in that field outside Shanksville and extends almost directly southeast. It passes through Washington, DC. And it terminates well out into the Atlantic ocean. The best and most plausible model, based on what anon can actually believe, is that what happened in DC and Pennsylvania on September 11th, 2001 was that the USA was attacked by a pair of submarine launched cruise missiles.

The very same country who later freaked out when they fully realized that Russia was in on the demonstration and decided to perform a biological attack against the entire planet.
With this model the very quick invasion of Afghanistan and the relatively close proximity of Bagram Air Base to China's nuclear weapons facility makes sense. As does Trump's desire to keep Bagram. And Biden's willingness to let it go.

Context
In Congress, a representative must be a U.S. citizen for the prior seven years, while a senator must be a citizen for the past nine.
However, the U.S. allows a citizen to obtain dual citizenship with another nation. Indeed, some prominent Congress members are (or have been) dual citizens.
When Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was first elected in 2010, he was a dual citizen with Canada. He officially renounced his Canadian citizenship in 2014.
When former Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN6) when first elected in 2006, she was a dual citizen with Switzerland. The issue became far more prominent after she polled in second place for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination for several months in 2011. So the next year, 2012, she officially renounced her Swiss citizenship.
The exact number of U.S. dual citizens is unknown, because the government does not officially track it.
What the bill does
The Dual Loyalty Disclosure Act would mandate that political candidates for federal office publicly reveal, in required forms, if they are a citizen of an additional nation besides the U.S.
To be clear, it wouldn’t actually prevent dual citizens from serving in Congress. Such a potential step would seemingly need a constitutional amendment rather than a law, because the qualifications for serving in Congress are outlined in the Constitution itself.
The bill was introduced in the House on February 9 as H.R. 946, by Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT2).
What supporters say
Supporters argue that members of Congress should avoid conflicts of interest, that they are elected to advocate for America… and only for America.
The bill “will ensure that elected officials are fully committed to serving the best interests of their constituents and the United States,” Rep. Rosendale said in a press release.
“This legislation simply requires political candidates to be transparent about any foreign citizenship they may hold,” Rep. Rosendale continued. “In an increasingly interconnected world, this disclosure allows American citizens to make informed decisions on election day and hold politicians accountable.”

Thermal Runaway of Lithium-Ion Battery Destroys Tanker’s Bridge

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) on Thursday said that a fire on an oil tanker last year was caused by the thermal runaway of a cell within a handheld radio’s lithium-ion battery.
The incident occurred while the vessel, named S-Trust, was docked at the Genesis Port Allen Terminal in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on November 13, 2022.
The fire resulted in extensive damage throughout the bridge, including significant smoke and thermal damage, amounting to $3 million in total. The navigation systems, communication systems, and alarm systems on the vessel were irreparably damaged.
The S-Trust carried 20 of these radios for communication during vessel operations. The batteries and chargers were stored on the communications table on the bridge. Fortunately, the crew managed to extinguish the fire, and no injuries were reported.
Lithium-ion battery cell explosions are commonly caused by thermal runaway, a chemical reaction that can lead to the cell igniting and exploding. Thermal runaway can occur spontaneously if the battery is damaged, shorted, overheated, defective, or overcharged.
To prevent thermal runaways and subsequent fires, the NTSB advises crews to follow manufacturers’ instructions for the care and maintenance of lithium-ion batteries, properly dispose of damaged batteries, avoid unsupervised charging, and keep batteries and chargers away from heat sources and flammable materials.
The NTSB report also recommends that companies ensure that lithium-ion batteries and devices using these batteries are certified by Underwriters Laboratory or another recognized organization.
In the event of a lithium-ion battery fire, crews can attempt to extinguish the fire using water, foam, CO2, or other dry chemical or powdered agents designed for Class A (combustible) fires. If the fire cannot be extinguished, personnel should allow the battery pack to burn in a controlled manner while monitoring for nearby cells experiencing thermal runaway and extinguishing other combustible materials that may catch fire.
Overall the incident highlights the importance of proper handling and maintenance of lithium-ion batteries to prevent hazardous situations and ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.

JTA — More than 6 percent of the new Congress is Jewish, with 34 Jews among the total of 535 lawmakers in the US House of Representatives and Senate.
Jews make up 2% of the US population, so Congress as a whole is more than thrice as Jewish as the country in general, according to a new study by the Pew Research Center on religion in the new Congress, which was inaugurated Thursday.
The number is even larger in the Senate, where eight, or 8%, of the 100 members are Jewish.
This Congress has four more Jews than its predecessor, which had 30 Jewish members. But it’s far from the most Jewish Congress ever. That was the 1993 Congress, which boasted 51 Jews — nearly 10% of the total.
All of the Jews in the Senate are Democrats, as are all but two in the House. The Republican exceptions are Reps. Lee Zeldin and David Kustoff, from New York and Tennessee, respectively. They are the only non-Christian Republicans in the Congress, according to Pew.
Congress as a whole is overwhelmingly Christian — even more so than the country. Seventy-one percent of Americans identify as Christian, compared to 88 percent of Congress. Both Protestants and Catholics are overrepresented on Capitol Hill.
The most underrepresented group is unaffiliated Americans. Twenty-three percent of Americans don’t identify with a religion, but that’s true of just a sole member of Congress — new Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema.
Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and Unitarians are also represented in Congress.

The US Treasury’s sudden flurry of letters to tanker companies for potentially breaching a Group of Seven price cap on Russian oil trades included a warning that those who don’t comply with the probe properly could face prison.
The communication, sent last week by the Office of Foreign Assets Control, represents a stark change of regulatory tone from Washington, with the US and its allies having previously taken a light-touch approach to enforcement.
Two vessel owners, who asked not to be identified, said they would try to understand what the US Treasury’s goal is before deciding on whether to allow their vessels go to Russia again. One of them said previous indications from regulators had encouraged owners to believe attestations of compliance were enough.
Regulators’ concern in the past had been that disrupting Russia’s vast flows of petroleum could drive up oil prices. Now, it appears that Moscow’s rising oil revenues, helping to fund its war in Ukraine, are becoming hard to ignore.
Almost every grade of Russian crude has been trading above a $60 a barrel cap imposed by the Group of Seven for months, even if its flagship Urals grade has slipped back toward that level in recent weeks.
In theory, that should have precluded firms in G-7 nations from providing services including financing, shipping and insurance for the cargoes, but many carried on. They were relying on assurances from enforcement authorities that sufficient documentation — including an attestation that cargoes were purchased below $60 — would shield service providers from sanctions.
This week, though, it emerged that the Treasury wrote to about 30 firms controlling about 100 oil tankers in about 12 locations regarding their compliance with cap.
Criminality
A copy of one of the letters, which was seen by Bloomberg, suggested a handful of tankers run by one firm might have transported Russian cargo at a price above the threshold. It asked for wide-ranging information and documentation about the shipments and the entities involved in them.
The letter said that not disclosing the requested information “may result in criminal fines, imprisonment or both.”
Two insurers also said that the tone of conversations with authorities has shifted in recent weeks, suggesting a stricter implementation of the price cap.
It remains to be seen how aggressive the Treasury will ultimately be.
If shipowners moving barrels under the price cap decided to stop hauling Russian petroleum, it might either curtail the nation’s exports or force more of the trade onto a large shadow fleet of vessels with questionable environmental credentials that Moscow has amassed since western sanctions ratcheted up. Neither outcome would be ideal for Washington or Brussels.
But the letters are a reminder that US authorities can become more assertive at any time, and that dealing in Russian oil could carry risks in the future.
A US Treasury spokesperson said on Monday that the department doesn’t confirm or comment on investigations or enforcement actions but is committed to enforcing the cap.
Both the US and UK have ramped up enforcement of the price cap in recent weeks.
Last month, the US Treasury blacklisted two vessels for hauling Russian supplies in what it said were breaches of the cap. One of those vessels, which was on hire to Exxon Mobil Corp. at the time of being sanctioned, has since been sitting in the Gulf of Mexico for three weeks.
The UK also sanctioned the Dubai arm of an oil trader last week, in its first enforcement measure around the policy.

I have a friend who is currently unemployed.
He has a lot of experience in automotive/truck parts sales types of jobs.
But he has a problem.
He likes to smoke pot everyday.
He has been applying for jobs but they all require a drug test.
He lives in a state where pot is legal, but the jobs he's applying for still require drug testing.
So he remains unemployed.
I don't personally smoke pot. I don't care for it. But I voted that pot be legalized because I felt that it is a person's right to be able to smoke it if they wanted to.
But now my friend has been out of work for nearly a year and I just don't see much hope for him getting any work if he keeps smoking the pot.
I wonder if the pot dispensaries require their employees to be drug tested? Maybe I should suggest to him that he apply at one of those places.

A man accused of a hammer attack on ex-House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband has tearfully testified how he hatched a bizarre plot to end US corruption after becoming absorbed in conspiracy theories.
David DePape, 43, has pleaded not guilty to two charges including attempted kidnap of a federal official.
If convicted, he faces life in prison.
He told the court he used to have left-wing political beliefs before reading a YouTube comment about Donald Trump.
Closing arguments in the trial are expected on Wednesday.
Giving evidence for more than an hour on Tuesday, Mr DePape said his political transformation started when he was living in a garage without a toilet or shower, playing video games for hours at a time.
He said that in the course of looking up information about video games he became interested in Gamergate, an anti-feminist campaign that targeted prominent women in the gaming world and became a huge online trend starting in 2014. He began listening to right-wing podcasters and watching political YouTube videos.
"At that time I was biased against Trump," Mr DePape said, "but there's, like, truth there. So if there's truth out there that I don't know, I want to know it."
He said he formulated a "grand plan" that involved luring "targets" to the Pelosi home.

The names on his list included University of Michigan academic Gayle Rubin, California Governor Gavin Newsom, Tom Hanks, congressman Adam Schiff, former Vice-President Mike Pence, former Attorney General Bill Barr, Senator Bernie Sanders and liberal mega-donor George Soros.
Ultimately, Mr DePape said, he wanted to confront President Joe Biden's son Hunter, and after he got his targets to admit to corruption, he planned to ask the president to pardon everyone he considered a "criminal".
"It's just easier giving them a pardon so we can move forward as a country," he said, crying on the stand.
Mr DePape said he went to the Pelosi home in the early hours of 28 October last year hoping to talk to Mrs Pelosi about what he thought were false theories of Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election.
He said he planned to wear an inflatable unicorn costume and upload his interrogation of her online. He was arrested with zip ties and duct tape in his possession.
When asked why he hit Mr Pelosi, he responded: "I reacted because my plan was basically ruined."
"He was never my target and I'm sorry that he got hurt," he said.
Mr Pelosi, 83, testified on Monday of his alarm upon waking up to find Mr DePape "standing in the doorway".
Mr Pelosi spent six days in hospital with a fractured skull and injuries to his arm and hand.
Defence lawyers are not denying that Mr DePape struck Mr Pelosi, but they are arguing he was motivated by his belief in conspiracy theories rather than Mrs Pelosi's status as Speaker of the House.
Because the charges involve assault on a federal official, prosecutors must prove that Mr DePape's actions were motivated by Mrs Pelosi's elected position.
