In my state a state issued ID (for most a DL) is required to vote. We also have DLs that are also 'real ID' tied to some national verification system for TSA and the like.

Assuming the national 'real ID' system is not somehow compromised, getting a national voter ID system implemented would not be all that difficult.

Still, real ID or not, elections will be fake until they are taken completely off line and back to verified and not copy-able paper ballots - that have been tracked and verified (chain of evidence level) from printing to counting to not have been faked or co-opted in any way.

A new way to view the Sun

Scientists have used the ESA/NASA Solar Orbiter’s Extreme Ultraviolet Imager (EUI) in a new mode of operation to record part of the Sun’s atmosphere that has been almost impossible to image until now. By covering the Sun’s bright disc with an ‘occulter’ inside the instrument, EUI can detect the million-times fainter ultraviolet light coming from the surrounding corona.
